The front office staff were very nice and friendly loved the receptionist and the guy who helped us pick out glasses was very nice and helpful, but we didn’t have a good experience with the eye doctor. It felt like my daughters eye exam was rushed she had a comprehensive eye exam in which they charged 175 and I did not feel like a thorough exam was conducted. 2 years ago my daughter had an exam which lasted over and hour the doctor was patient and very informative with helping me understand the overall condition of my daughters eyes but when this guy completed her exam in maybe 20-25 minutes. He did not ask about her past medical history which her dad and his mom had eye surgery all he did was explain her vision numbers but when I explained that I had concerns about her getting headaches as well and her eye bothering her and her previous eye doctor mentioning she may need surgery in the future he completely brushed it off and said “she just has allergies lol which my daughter does not have allergies never have, he insisted that my doctor probably over looked her allergies. My daughter miss placed her glasses maybe 3 months ago and I feel her vision is worsening its too bad my insurance only covers one exam per year not I am going to pay out of pocket to have her a thorough exam elsewhere.
I was pleasantly surprised compared to these reviews! the staff was very friendly and made me feel welcomed. i only put 4 stars bc my eyes were dilated and it made it difficult to select a new pair of glasses. In their defense I didn’t state that I would be purchasing a pair that day.
This office is amazing! Everyone is so nice and helpful. Great experience!
I had a fantastic experience! Went in for a contact exam. The staff was helpful and friendly, and they price matched my contacts for me! Great service, excellent prices, definitely going back! The wait time was a little long, but 5/5.
This place deserves a better rating than 2.6The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, store is clean, great glasses selection and helpful people. Ive been going for years. Good location also. Would definitely recommend.
Woke up in the middle of the night and stepped on my glasses busting the frame and arm. Had the worst night sleep over it. Called My Eye Doctor when I woke up prepared for the worst and to hear them tell me I’m sol. Instead the young man told me my warranty expired already last month but to come in and they will replace them if they still have the frame or find a frame comprable for my lenses. I’m a nurse and I need my eyes. I was so grateful. My Eye Doctor rocks!
I wont ever come back there myself. I went when it was till c & b optical. I ended up spending the most i have ever spent on a single pair of glasses. I went with a frame that wasnt to expensive because the cost of the lens was outrageous. my total cost was around $500. The frames totally stink( refraining from the word i really would use) they are loose fitting and no matter what I do they will not tighten. I look down and they fall off. The bifocal in the lens itself is off. I have NEVER been able to use them like one should. I end up taking my glasses off to read close up because i can see/read better w/out them. unfortunately i am on a limited income and have not been able to afford to replace them.
I order 2 pairs of glasses and when I went to pick them up they couldnt find my second pair I was waiting 30 mins then one of the employees told me that they would contact me to let me know what happened. Well weeks passed by and they never contacted me and I called and left a voice mail and still nothing. I am very displeased with how unprofessional they are and once I get my second pair I will NEVER go back there again. So if you want to save yourself the trouble of dealing with incompetence dont go here
Left before I had an appointment. Apparently its required to have eyes dilated or a scab done to determine eye health. I didnt want either.....I was always told you cant drive after dilation and insurance doesnt cover the scan....I wasnt paying for it. The lab tech just stared at me and she was rude. I spoke to someone else and he said the same thing....so its obvious its a scripted answer and I see why I got an appointment so quick.
My Family and I will never return here again. My Daughter received Her Eyeglasses In June 2020 and they were very cheaply made. With in a week the lenses cracked. Then the frames cracked and the lenses fell out. When the stem fell off I had had enough. I called and they said to come in and they would look at them to see if they could help. I came in with the Glasses 👓 and my Daughter. They said I don’t know 🤔 how this could happened. I said I don’t know ???? She has not dropped, sat on them, This is from just opening and closing the glasses from REG wear. They said we can offer You a small discount on a new pair. I said NoThank You. Just a copy of her prescription and let Your manager know You just lost 3 future sales. My Family will go els were to purchase glasses. Glasses should last more then 4 months. I won’t be back. I Would Not Recommend My eye doctor to any one. Terrible customer service and quality.
MyEyeDr was COVID ready and very clean. Thats why they get at least 2 stars. Read the reviews, like I wish I had before going. People are rude and the place is just a money grab. You can get better service, wider selection of product, and higher quality eyewear at Wal-Mart.
My mom was treated so poorly at this office that she left before she even had her eye exam. Her insurance through her employer is apparently the same used for Medicaid - once they realized this they treated her like trash. I do not understand how an office this unprofessional and rude is allowed to operate. Doctors pledge to do no harm and that counts towards those they hire and the office culture they maintain. My mom felt so unsafe she had to leave. Please go anywhere else and save yourself the horrible experience my mom had here.
Very unprofessional dont get your glasses here
Some of the worst service Ive ever experienced
NEVER get glasses from these people. I went at the very beginning of August for the first eye exam (the 8th). After the exam I was told 7-14 business days to get my glasses. 3 weeks later my glasses arrive and they are not correct. I called and told that I would have to make an appointment to see the eye Dr.. After scheduling an appointment (which was another week out) I arrive. I sat with the optician for 1-1 1/2 hours as I was asked MULTIPLE times to put on the glasses and look out side (like they were going to magically fix themselves) only to be told I was going to have to make an appointment with the optometrist. When I stated that I thought that was what I was here for, I was told no that I would have to make ANOTHER appointment. So, I schedule ANOTHER appointment which to be ANOTHER week out and ANOTHER day of lost revenue. I arrive and go through ANOTHER eye exam because the first one was not done correctly AND, found out that the measuring of the position of the progressive lenses was ALSO not correct. I was told that they would try to expedite the glasses but, it could be 7-14 business days. At the end of the 14 business days I call and they told me that I sent them back a SECOND time!!!! Wait, what? I never sent them back a second time. After finally convincing the person that I did not send them back on September the 18th, they looked into it. Turns out THEY sent them back for what ever reason and was told that there was a delivery date of September the 28th. Here it is October the 3rd and nothing. So, I called. Turns out that they were in and I should have gotten a text, which I never did. When I asked if I could come and get them I was told Uhhh, we close in a half hour, good thing I live 5 minutes away! I arrive, Im handed my glasses and, guess what? They are worst than what they were before! I can see better out of my 12 year old glasses! I kindly said you know what, please just refund my money. I was told I cant do that, I dont have the authority, the manager will have to do that. 8 weeks, no glasses, a day of lost revenue (had to miss 2 half days of work for appointments) and I cant even get my money back till next week.......... Save your time and money and go some where else.
Not sure what problem people have with this place just went for my appointment and everything went fine and everyone was kind as possible the nurse was especially kind and bubbly as well as the doctor being friendly and soothing. Everything was perfect for me and as long as they keep this up they get 5 stars from me and my business. I thought customer service was dead until i went here way to go😜
I have been to several places in the past couple of years to get my eyes checked.First time here and I had my appointment with John Coalter, O.D. He was great. I have been a contact lenses wearer for years now but he went into depth on the importance of eye care and contact lenses information I have never been told of in the past. He really took his time to explain and educate me as a patient. I did not feel rushed or like just another appointment to go in and get out fast. I am used to that. Go in and get out. Which is nice, but I really appreciated the time and information allocated to me. Makes me feel like Dr.John Coalter really does care and I am not just a number. As far as the front desk, I had a good experience with everyone I had came in contact with, friendly.Got my contacts really fast shipped to my house and glasses earlier than promised. The eye glass selection is a bit small due to the space of the location but they have some really cute sunglasses. Too many cute ones actually.I would recommend giving them a try.
Nothing against the people at this facility, they are great and patient, but the LAB is trash at sending glasses on time. Ive waited far beyond the date that they said the glasses would arrive. I called and came into store, to check and still they werent there. The people of the location called and said that the lab would expedite the glasses to the following week. The glasses still havent came and it has been the following week. The amount of time it is taking to arrive is trash, not the people, just the company. Trash.
Took my mother for an eye exam. What a scam!! They nailed Medicare for a chunk of change. I would never go to this place again nor would I refer this place to anyone. According to their exam my mom should be blind. The doctor numbed her eyes before her eye test so her eyes were blurred the whole time. My mom wouldnt have seen a barn if it had been in front of her face. My mom told the doctor she was going to get her glasses at a different facility he wouldnt even write us a prescription for her to get glasses. The doctor wanted her to schedule cataract surgery now and of course through their office. The whole experience had a scam feel to it so $300 later we left there with nothing but disgust. Medicare really needs to check into this place and their business practices.
I have been wearing glasses and/or contacts for over 40 years and I have never experienced slower service in my life. My appointment was on July 28 and its October now and I have not received my work glasses yet. The only thing about this place that is nice is the employees attitude but the waiting sucks.
I have been waiting for my glasses for about 1 month and 2 weeks this is outrageous they keep pushing my order back every time I call it’s the same thing, the staff if amazing just I’m disappointed
Personally i did wait a little while bit as far as im concerned it was the best and informative eye exam ive had. On the flip side, felt out of place with the assistants. Not a single one looked me in the eye when talking to me.
Would have been nice if the doctor had mentioned my daughter had an astigmatism during the examination.I found this out from a friendly staff member, when returning unsure of my daughters prescription.
My family has been coming here for years, my experience here is always wonderful.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I started going there when it was C&B Optical. After a lot of appointments, lost prescriptions, and countless hours in the wait room, I was finally able to get contacts. They really made me return five times to get one contact prescription. And every time I went I had to wait extremely long and deal with them trying to figure out where my paperwork was. When it changed to Ossip I thought I would give it another chance (it is sooooo close to my house). I had one of the first appointments of the morning so I figured I wouldn’t have to wait that long. Wrong. I waited for an hour while people that checked in after me got seen. The doctors was fine (Coulter) but talked me into switching out of dailies and into 30 day contacts. I only wore them for a week because I hated them so much. So I go back and ask if I can just order the dailies I had been wearing for 2 years previously. They needed the doctor to sign off on it, but he was at another location. They called the other location and he wasn’t available so the girl leaves a message and tells me she will call me as soon as he gets back to her.I don’t hear anything for days so I call. They have no record of it. Go through the whole thing again. Doctor is at another location blah blah. They e-mail him the request, will call me when they get it back. They never called. They have terrible customer service. I ended up ordering contacts through a subscription service (Waldo). And they are great. I can’t use my insurance to get them but I’ll just use it somewhere other than Ossip to buy glasses. If you have a choice to go somewhere else, I would highly recommend it. The people at Ossip don’t care about taking care of people as long as they are turning over a high volume of patients.
I honestly dont even want to give one star. Thats how unacceptable the service has been with this company. When they were formerly C and B optical, I had several problems with them and now as Ossip, I have had another problem. The highlights:Taking my wheelchair bound, elderly mother to the Grape Road location and being told that since she cannot get out of her wheelchair, they cannot give her an eye exam! This is against the American Disabilities Act! I told them this and they sent us to the Michigan Street location and they did the exam with a briefcase full of lenses. However, it was wintertime and cold and had to put my Mom through a lot.I took my young child (about 10 at the time) for glasses and he picked a frame. The guy working at the Michigan St. location says, that the frame you want? We say yes and he takes the frame and says, okay. He didnt have my child put the glasses on, which I thought was strange. When we came back in to get the glasses, they did NOT fit his face, they were totally wrong. Again, people not doing their job.I decided to give this company one more chance and made a contact lens appointment for my child, who is now almost 15. We made an appointment for a lens exam, fitting and class. It was a Saturday appointment. We get there and the doctor who was stone faced and rude tells us we wont be getting the contacts today because the staff has to leave at noon. The office is open until 2:00. This doctor was not from the area, he was from Michigan City, Indiana. He proceeds to fit a child in a monthly contact that is extremely expensive, something that is totally not acceptable for his age. I went to another optometry office and they can fit my child in a daily lens that is much cheaper. This place is a joke and good luck getting someone on the phone. The phones are routed to a national call center. You have no way to reach anyone directly at the local offices.I WILL NEVER AGAIN USE THIS PLACE.
Good eye doctor place. Wait usually isnt too long, and the staff has always been friendly. The only time I had a bad experience was when my mom and i went for an appointment, and when we looked at glasses afterwards, the lady that helped us really wanted to help me get a pair. But we decided I didnt need any, and she was very upset about that. However, that has been my only complaint. This is a good place, though now it is Ossip instead of C&b,so I dont know if it is any different or not, though all their employees are still there from C&b, I believe
The staff was good but they just told me it will take a month to get my safety glasses.
Dr. Blankenbecker is wonderful! He is very kind and caring, and also extremely knowledgable. I will never see anyone else, I highly recommend him!
First off the Dr. was great! Very knowledgeable and took his time. Other than that my whole experience has been terrible! I picked a pair of glasses and a pair of prescription sun glasses. When I asked about prescription sun glasses I asked if any pair of glasses in the place cld be turned into sunglasses and the guy helping me said yes so I picked out a pair I liked. After all was said and done he said both pair of glasses wld be back on the 13th. About 5 days later they call me and say that the sunglasses I picked out couldn’t be used to put a prescription lens in so they were sent back and I was asked to come back to pick out a different pair. I was annoyed to say the least. So on the 13th when my glasses were to arrive they call and tell me that they were not in and that they had not passed inspection that one of the lenses was not rgt and there was a scratch on it. So now I’m really annoyed! They said now my glasses wld be in on the 18th. The 18th comes and they haven’t called to tell me my glasses are in so I call them. They lady looks up my information and says we have them coming in on the 22nd!! My initial appt was on Feb. 28. It is now March the 18th. I still have no glasses or sunglasses. I still have their voicemail stating they wld be in on the 18th so I know I didn’t hear them wrong! Once I receive my merchandise I will never go back there!!
After paying for mine and my daughters glasses they informed me that they would be in on the 5th. So I called on the 6th and asked what was going on. They then informed me that they werent in let. So they call me a couple days later and tell me that they wont be in for another 5 days. That is unacceptable!!! I would not recommend this place to anyone
$120 for an eye exam! Not sure why they are so overpriced. Walmart is half as much.
The people were really nice and they helped me in choosing my glasses. Very friendly
Horrible place and staff. Im still waiting for my safety glasses.
Very professional and personable, but a bit pricey.
Good staff ..great eye dr.. was very surprised at the co pay not cheap at all ..
Extremely slow and impersonal service. Walmart eye center was 10x quicker and easier.
Been waiting for almost two months now for my work glasses. I keep calling and leaving messages asking about my prescription but I cant get a return call and I cant reach anybody. Extremely poor service.
No sense to have an appointment...been here waiting for 1020am appt n its noon. Hope ur not in any kind of hurry or have anything else to do when u come here.
Horrible service! Slow & rude.
Awful place for glasses. Extremely over priced. I ordered a pair of glasses nearly a month ago and I still havent received them. Im canceling my order and taking my money elsewhere. Stay away from here.
Watch out because the eye dilation comes with the eye exam as soon as they find out you have medical insurance then they want to flip the exam to medical insurance and call it a medical visit.
Horrifically overpriced (TEN times what Walmart will charge), and also blatantly violating Indiana & Federal law in regards to duration of prescriptions and where they can be filled. STAY AWAY!
Waiting is long. People are great!!
I really liked Dr.blankenbeker
Very friendly
