JCPenney has had a rocky few years and Im sure the recent pandemic hasnt helped. As of late its incredibly difficult to find an employee or an open cash register. Shelves/clothing was in disarray, though theyve stuck to trying to keep prices reasonable.

The placed looked trashed. Clothes on the floor. Clothes just in big piles everywhere. Right now i do not recommend this store

I love this store but today it was terrible they had only one register open and line line was ridiculous 🙄 people were leaving their items. Bummer!

We just happened to walk through this entrance to get into the university mall. We were on a mission to get to one of the jewelry stores to look at mens wedding bands. My fiance wandered over to the jewelry counter on his way by and saw some styles that he liked. Immediately Jean, a jewelry associate asked if she could help us. She found his correct size, and she explained to us the difference with a comfort fit, and a standard fit. They had the ring he wanted in his correct size, in stock! He also asked about options for myself to match his band, and she gave me tons of different options, and I fell in love with one of the bridal sets that seemed to be way out of our price range. Since they were running sales on jewelry and the additional 35% off if you use your JCP card, I was pleasantly surprised with the price. We both left with our wedding rings, and one more thing checked off our to-do list! Thank you so much!

Ive been going here for years. The sales are good and the prices are fair. I always find something for myself or family when im there.

The young man that helped me was amazing the manager that was on was not particularly concerned about customer service but I give my hats off to the sales associate

The store just like the mall it is inside of seems to be on the sad side of things. Fairly lackluster. They only share anything inside was Sephora, which was pretty lackluster as well however their staff was extremely nice.

Thirty-two fitting rooms open on a busy day you have to wait in line at least you can try stuff on again

Emily L in the salon is awesome! Normally I go to places and they ask what size clipper to use on my sons hair etc, I have no idea otherwise I would cut his hair myself! I show Emily a picture and she cuts it exactly like we want. Definitely the best there!

During this time of the Corona virus I feel that J.C. Penney in so burl vt is not doing anything appropriate to keep their customers safe. There are no hand sanitizer stations when you enter the store. The clerks that check you out do not clean in between Customers. Having only one check out causes long lines. The other check outs should also be open to spread out customers. I have shopped at j c Penney and got my first credit card at j c Penney when I was 16. Until things change I will only go to the salon when I have an appointment which by the way are doing a fantastic job getting it clean, offer hand sanitizer when you enter and anything else to keep us and themselves safe.

Have some decent prices but the store is a little run down and the air feels like I walked into an ancient egyptian tomb. Dry and stuffy, so much so that I hate coming here.

Store closing. I was dissapointed becaise the section I shop in (womans) is taken over with clearance items but nothing for casual women. The mens section is so discounted and has a lot.

I mostly go to Sephora when I go here for my girlfriend quick tip for all the guys and even the girls can use this. I URGE YOU SIGN UP for the emails because if you spend more than $25 (which for the record two items youre guaranteed to spend more than $25 haha) you will get a gift bag of goodies that will get you more brownie points with your woman or even for girls youll feel like your dollar expanded more

Prices for what appears to be the exact same product are higher than other retailers. They are too dependant on sales and mystery coupons to even the playing field. Problem is a comparison shopper doesnt look at that allt he time. That all said the space is well maintained, and staff are VERY helpful and friendly.

Very under staffed! Consumer be aware you can no longer do returns at the customer service areas you must now take it to pick up and returns which is in the back corner of the store by the bathrooms and then theres a line a mile long at noontime, give yourself a lot of extra time

Went in to get a haircut, customer service was great for a walk-in, but the haircut was HORRIBLE!!!!!!! She was really friendly but really messed up my haircut and took chunks out of my beard, and hairline is NO WHERE near the same on both sides and You can clearly see it and the blend you can still see the line! Ot was really rushed and it was too late for it to be fixed. I just wanted to get out as soon as possible.

No place for people waiting or shopping to sit down .. nothing anywhere.. even outside in the mall.

The store prices are a little high for the quality, but their employees are great. Keith helped us locate what we needed and made great suggestions and made sure we got the most out of our dollar.

My girlfriend was looking for a coffee maker to replace one that is several years old. While at the store she was shopping in the home department and looking at the items available. There were no displays available to look at, after finding one she liked she asked a nearby associate if she could open it to look at the maker before purchasing. The associate told her she could open it after she paid for it. And provided no more assistance. She then left the store to check other retailers in the area. I am writing this review as she was not willing to, however i was a manager at this store approximately 15 years ago, and managed this very department as well as 3 others. To hear that the customer service at this location has fallen this far is incredibly disappointing, as when I had been there our associates were trained to never let a customer leave our store disappointed, and we all prided ourselves on our customer experience. I am hoping that this is not the common experience in this store, but I am incredibly disappointed to hear this story from a place we took a great deal of pride in at one point.

Unfortunately it was a disappointment.It looked like they were closing. The clearance section is large and the regular departments were sparingly stocked. Help was only in the cosmetic department, and you know that means no help. I remember J.C.Penney as a classy, clean, and inviting store. Not anymore.Sadly class went out of style.

The associate I spoke with, Robyn, was incredibly friendly and helpful. She was able to give me a suggestion based on her husbands experience and it really helped!

I have been to JCPenneys 3 times since Thanksgiving Night and Tobin has been the most Excellent helper to me while shopping there in oh so many ways. He is so friendly, helpful and accommodating. I now look forward to seeing him when I go back.

I love the variety of things in the store. They have beautiful clothes & jewelry. It took awhile, but I found a pair of shoes that I liked & fit.

Horrible return experience. They seriously would rather lose a customer over $20.76 than to do what I asked them to do. I used to always defend JCPenney and say I hadnt really had many problems with them. Too bad I cant say that anymore

HEY they still have one, they really do have some great deals sometimes. Always check the red clearance section its pretty magical. They do have appliances at this location also which is kinda nice.

The store as a whole was not very clean (changing rooms were really bad). Sale prices not coming up correctly. Once that was remedies, the prices for back to school were very reasonable, but would have been overcharged about $20 on a $150 bill if I hadnt been paying attention.

Love this store. I can usually find something very nice to wear.

Marelyn Segura is an AMAZING worker. She is very kind, helps amazingly, and is not ignorant at all like some workers I’ve seen. She deserves to be promoted because she is just an amazing worker.

Went to Sephora in this JCPenney and was very pleased. Very nice employee offered assistance and checked back 10 minuets after to make sure I had what I needed.

I bought 2 shirts and 3 pair of Pajama Pants items and my receipt said that I saved over $100. Anything to make it seem like you SAVED money. SMH

Literaly never any cashiers lines take forever

They arent organized like berlin mall location when it comes to packages!!!Bought something from jcpenney last tuesday included paying for it to already; and shipped last Wednesday; as to September but strap came unsewn after started to use a week later; (not the same week that I got it from berlin mall)that is why I took the purses to a different jcpenney due to no floral; went to jcpenney today; customer service rep tried because they stated it was due today and they are unloading and be back in 10 if not half an hour; then went to one store in a mall and walked around; then went back and waited patiently because the service rep had a customer; then walked to a different store; they stated dont be back until 1pm but took a longer way to the store and due to walking back and had to relook at the order# information on their screen; and speechless as to clueless where the package is!!

The Sephora shop-lette was barely stocked, had only one item by Clinique-- are there any more stores in Vermont that carry Clinique makeup anymore? No one approached me to help, in Sephora or Penneys in general. All the merchandise seems junkier every year. It felt like KMart and I didnt try anything on let alone purchase anything. Bummer.

This is a solid, Mid size JC Penny location. There is a large Sephora area which my wife says is a good thing.

JC Penney really needs to work on making their exchanges easier. I just wanted to exchange a belt for differnt size and the transaction was very confusing.

Although the store is clean and organized I just do not like JCP. I dont know what it is. I find better Childrens sale at Sears or Kohls. Too outdated.

A while ago I went shopping there and when I was getting checked out this lady said the usual stuff like “did you find everything ok?” I thought everything was going to be until she asked if I wanted to buy a credit card. I said no and then she proceeded to ask me for my social security number. I said I didn’t know it because at the time I was 17. Then she called me stupid because I didn’t know it. I am very disappointed in the staff.
