I was feeling kind of blue today... I decided to go shopping of course 🙄🤣 and wow what an experience .. the store was clean .. everyone was helpful and friendly .. This is by far the best butera out of three, 2 in Elgin,one in South Elgin, this is South Elgin one, by far cleanest, friendliest, which isnt saying much,most of them act like they rather be somewhere else.

Food Bazaar is great. They have some of the best and top-quality produce. The fish section has a great selection as well.

Good place to stop on by and pick up veggies and fruit, with a variety of Mexican and Asian foods. Great place to stock up on beer too.

I mainly shop for produce here. They have a diverse selection that is very fresh and attractively displayed. The produce prices are overall the lowest of the places I grocery shop.

Butera is my go2 lower prices food store. Need to be careful on the fresh food items in this South Elgin location. Unlike the Larkin Ave Elgin store. Workers here are outstanding and friendly. Unlike the Larkin Ave Elgin store. I try buying most items here because I live in South Elgin and want the village to get the taxes I pay.

Anybody else noticed they are way over priced. Especially on the holidays. The price hike on meats is done without consideration for people who have no choice but shop there. Jewel is less expensive.

Store is a little dated which doesnt bother me. Store prices seemed fare but there selection of meat that was on sale was limited and didnt pass the eye test. I did go on a Sunday slightly after noon and the sale started Tuesday so I will probably give them another shot but 1st experience definitely makes me a little hesitant. Staff was helpful and accommodating

Rethink before you shop here!!I have gone to this store several times since moving to the area since they are the grocery store closest to my house. This store is always dirty grungy like needs a really good scrubbing and smells kind of dirty too. The worst area is the fresh meat area, it always smells rotten. But if you ignore all this and continue to shop there is so much wrong with how food is stored in this shop. Each issue I am listing is on a different shopping trip weeks apart.1) I went to get shredded cheese out of the cooler area, the first bag I grabbed was very warm so I decided to get a different bag/flavor, this bag was also warm.2) When shopping down the chip aisle a store employee had put the cone for slip hazard of a wet area in the chip bin and walked away leaving it there. The cone was dirty and I dont want to buy food that is stored in such a way.3) I bought cake frosting and used it a few days later, I dont know why I decided to check the expiration date but Im so glad I did. I bought the frosting in June 2019 it had expired December 2018.This store really needs to be inspected because I am sure they would be closed down. There employees are rude just to add to the experience. I have been sent to a different check out line because the employee doesnt feel like ringing me up. They have said this out loud with me standing right there, the light is on indicating they are open to check you out but they tell you to go to the other person. Go to a different store so you dont get food poisoning

I LOVE this place because they carry Little Hugs. I havent had those in 20yrs. A HUGE part of my childhood at Nanas. However, I was VERY disappointed in their frozen shrimp section. SPECIFICALLY the reason went. It was cluttered, disorganized and not much to choose from. A standard peeled and deveined 18 to 26 count bag aka Large, is $6 EVERYWHERE. I could have been reading it wrong but $9.99 is ridiculous.

They had most of the things I needed. The prices were good for what I bought.

A decent option thats nearby. Some of the staff are great, others definitely give off a vibe of not to be bothered. Overall, pricing doesnt beat other chains, and the stores appearance isnt a strong suit. Whenever there are sales on certain items that pricing beats out the rest of the competition. There is one younger guy with black or brown hair that recently got moved over to groceries. His attitude towards customers is top notch.

The staff is really helpful. The deli can be a little slow depending on the worker, but overall this place is so convenient because its easy to pop in and pop out to get your essentials. Its a lot easier than running into Jewel.They have packaged nuts, dried fruits, and candies.They also have some ethnic foods that other stores might not have.Just recently they added gluten-free sections to their freezers and dry foods aisles.Overall, the price is pretty good here. They have a lot of deals throughout the store. Its not more expensive than other grocery stores when you weigh in the fact they have items here that other stores dont normal have. Also, if you talk to the manager, they can see about getting a particular item that they may not have. They are pretty good about that at these smaller stores.

Great customer service, small and organized. A few of the fridges look pretty old but other than that liked it. Our cashier has great customer service. And made both my husband and I laughed.

The place is always busy, but the staff are good at what they do and move you through as fast as they can. The butcher shop is the best Ive found both in cost and quality since moving out of the city and their product is fresh and seasonal. I probably shop here 4 or 5 days a week -- love it!

I was just trying to be quick in and out, never happened!! There is always something at the lower price than other stores. Glad that I had a chance to stop by, milk 1.88$ for a gallon, 3lb gala or mackintosh apples for 2.99!!!

For these prices youre better off going to Jewel because the quality of the meat and produce is exponentially better.

Good evening everybody Butera Market people and past few years ago when I shop at Butera Market grocery store and really cool soft drinks is like a pepsi, seafood deli, bakery section, hot foods, poultry, meat, dairy and more since I was been in piece 2016- 2017- 2018- 2019 now we give up going to renaming in Jerrys Piggly Wiggly in 2023.

Overall ok for a quick stop but not really the best quality of produce.

Always has a nice deli and bakery selection. Super fresh produce and meat department. I like the selection of ethnic food they have here too.

Store is good, but their employees are not helpful, there were only two cashiers working (one Express, one regular) and we were in the regular which was crowded and the employees didn’t say anything and start taking people that was getting in the express even that they had lot of stuff in their carts.Not nice!

This place could do with a major overhaul... the carts, floors and checkout machinery is very tired and need some attention. I usually purchase some meats here as the pricing is actually competitive. Apart from this... cant say anything else.

The prices are always excellent here. Unfortunately not really a place I want to shop for groceries. The prices on the shelves were generally not up to date. That is, the sale prices were not accurately reflected. The staff was not very helpful or friendly. Also, most of the employees very sloppy and unkempt in appearance. Not a very appealing combination.

The stores clean. Checkout is always fast. They have nice selection of fresh produce and nicely priced too compared to other supermarkets.

Lower price point market with decent number of skews. Produce can be iffy. Not the cleanest store and the meats are not of the greatest quality. Store is poorly laid out and is in desperate need of updating in both fit and finish. Prices are pretty competitive though. You can get in and out quickly though.

Absolutely fantastic produce selection! We even picked up some fried chicken and Mediterranean Salad for lunch from the deli and it was yummy!

The produce department is a joke, employee (Leo) spends more time on his cell phone than actually working! I asked for help and he held up his finger (for me to. Wait)I just left, I was not sure if could speak English anyway, as he was deep into a conversation (in Spanish). Obviously there is not any management supervision.

Younger employees that dont really pay much attention to customers and usually only one register open. Prices are high for that type of grocery store but if you have to pick up one or two items and dont feel like fighting the crowds at Jewel or Wal Mart ot Meijer than butera will be just fine.

Atmosphere is great, scenery is...natural, and items are organized. Only thing I have against this place above all else is there is only 6 checkout aisles, the first being an express checkout.

I like getting my water from here.But its a pain in the ass to have to work your way around the entire produce department just to start your shopping.Otherwise, decidedly decent place to shop.

Always a line because they never have enough cashiers. All the front line help are teenagers. They need some adult supervision or more help.

They have very affordable prices, they have a nice amount of fruits, vegetables and other products you may need including a bakery and wine section. The meat is sometimes questionable, you can tell when you walk in and smell the blood.

Great prices, Its always a joy shopping here. Thats because I get the most bang for my buck at butera markets. I kid you not, when I see my total for my households groceries It makes me smile. With so many stores charging more for their groceries, butera continues to charge less!

Nice clean store with pretty good prices. Plenty of fresh produce, vegetables, fruit and meat.

Poor service, poor quality and the employees act like they do not care about the customers. No one ever asks me if I need help and it makes me sick. I would recommend Jewel or Target. The Butera in Elgin is way better. I had an argument with the manager at one point and he called me a racist.

Good prices many foods and beverages here always look in the flyer theres always a deal.
