I dont understand all the negative reviews of Apria in Sparks. Shayna, Michael, and Mike were so helpful and went well beyond expectations in getting a hospital bed to my sisters house in July for a family emergency. Heartfelt thank you to Rod who so kindly delivered and set up the bed late at night rather than leave us on our own. I use Apria myself in California for CPAP equip and supplies, and other than the occasional hiccup, Ive always been very happy with this company and their customer service. Again, thanks to all the folks at Apria Sparks for really coming through for my family.
Customer service went straight to a human who was able to assist me right away and give me the information I needed. Very helpful and efficient process which I was not expecting.
Very courteous local staff. The system is the issue. Took almost 4 weeks to fill a prescription from a doctor that they already work with. Takes them 6-7 days to ship an order and it is taking 3 days to deliver via, so with all that almost 6 weeks from order to reciept. Try other suppliers first before Apria. I do not recommend this DME Dealer.
Apria is by far the worst company a person is forced to use. Unfortunately I need my sleep apnea supplies and they are the most recommended. I went to the trouble of calling my insurance and making sure that the amount I would owe and how long I would owe the monthly charge was known. I did this because over the past 5 yrs Apria has scammed me for a lot of money. Well guess what, they got me again with a new machine. My machine is a DreamWorks machine. They charge a monthly fee, im ok with that because i need it. But they also charge a monthly supply fee, but dont send me anything. What could it be for I thought. So I called. Guess what? Its for the humidifier.....which is built into the machine. Wont work without it. So I said fine, ill send it back. I still have my old RedMed 10 machine from 5 yrs ago. Nope! Locked into the contract for 10 months. My advice is....be sure you really really need it like me. They can charge you whatever they want for 10 months before you own the unit. And it doesnt stop there. Re-supplies for filters, tubes, headgear, etc all come from them. I truly hate this company more than Spectrum.....and that is something I never thought could happen. Buyer beware.
If I could give Apria a zero to negative 5 stars, I would do so. Unfortunately I can not. So here is my story and you can judge it for yourself:Back in April of 2020 in Westminster, Ca, my doctor wanted me to test for sleep apnea; so I went to a local doctor. I was a SCAN HMO member so I was covered by insurance. The doctor signed me up with Apria. When the Apria sleep apnea machine arrived, I was surprised to see it was the size of a small brief case. It did not look like the sleek machines I saw on TV or on the Internet. I suspected it was their basic, cheapest machine. Additionally, I was also given a multi-page, pink forms to sign. The jargons and the prints were very hard to read also.I did notice that it said Rental Agreement and so I pointed out to the doctors office. They laughed and said that after a few months, the equipment is yours. OK, in that case I had not reservation any more. Now looking back, it is my opinion that the doctors office must have gotten kick backs to say things like that to ease a patients fear of signing up. Anyway the machine was so big and clumsy, with hoses seemed everywhere. I decided that I could not use it and put it away in the closet, totally unused.Fast forward to Nov, 2020: We moved to Reno, Nevada in Dec, 2020. Of course my SCAN HMO coverage ended in the same month. Since I have always been a hoarder, however useless it might be, I took the Apria machine with me. Now looking back, I am glad I did not throw it away. Then in early Feb, 2021, I started getting calls from a guy in Arizona, claiming to be from Apria, asking for my personal information such as age, birthday, etc. I refused, thinking it was a scam. Once I realized it was indeed Apria calling me, I immediately returned the entire machine to Aprias Reno office on 3/3/2021. Their Ms. Jade took the machine and was surprised by the shipping wrappers still in place. It turned out that Apria was trying to collect money from me for Jan/Feb, 2021. From the bill, I found out Apria charged SCAN HMO over $60 per month to use their machine. That is over $700 every year for a machine that in my opinion is worth no more than $150. I suspect SCAN would never pay that much per month and there must be a much lowered amount like all other medical bills.Aprias bill kept coming. And since it was not covered, seems the full amount was due with no customary discount. So I placed several calls to their central office asking for relief: I talked to their Mr. Ken on 3/4/21 and their Mr. James on 3/12/21 and their Mr. Miles on 3/24/21. Each time their attitudes got more stern and unforgiving. The last one told me they will send my bill to collection, full amount, if I did not pay.It seems either they are making an example out of me, or in my opinion, they have been long bullying patients regardless their abilities to pay or the situations. No wonder people now are afraid of going the the hospitals. It is my further opinion that Apria is in for the money, not the well being of the patients they so claim to care.
I have typed up my Long review twice now. I get to a certain point and the whole thing erases And I am not willing to type it all out again. Do not give them a credit card number They will steal from you, Taking a hunderd dollars Off my credit cardbfor almost a year and when I tried to get them to bill the medical insurance and Not my card and refund my credit card ( they can make more money that way Because the contracted prices from insurance companies are much much lower than the cash they can get from ķkķfrustrating and almost impossible. They owe me over $800 and I would have to pay an attorney to get that back . Whats the use? If you can get your call elevated and someone pretends to listen and care and then never ever call you back as they promised to. It is a regular practice at Apria. It is obviously encouraged among their employees to donbusiness like this And have learned that if they just Never return calls or do what they promised to do and they will just keep your money And they make bank on the fact that Most customers would not hire an attorney to fight with their corporiate attorneys. Lets see if this review posts without being deleted like my previous two more detailed one⁶ģ Run quickly away from these lying, cheating, thieves!!I would rather go without my lifesaving medical equipment than do business with Apria again!Good luck!
I have always found Apria to be response, caring, and very fast!
Apria is the worse. They have had my prescription for over a week and I have to keep calling them to get service. I will self pay at another local outfit before I ever attempt to use Apria again.UPDATE: two days later, Apria called. Not to help me with my CPAP but to ask me to change my review here! How pathetic is this company? I asked my insurance company to dump them as a provider.UPDATE: So it has been another week and Apria called. Their number shows as a spammer on NoMoRobo and True Caller. The lady spoke English so poorly I could not really understand her but she asked me for personal information and I told her she called me so she needed to tell me my DOB and insurance info. I hung up. They called back later and I still could not understand them but they told me my DOB and I suspect they are legit. She could not explain what happens next but wanted to confirm my order, which I did not place. I have been without CPAP for over a month now because of these folks. I am using another provider but it looks like most are nearly as bad as Apria.UPDATE: Robin from the local office called and was nice but did not accept responsibility for the delays. She blamed the doctor. She said my order would be processed and I should hear back by noon the next day. A week later, Jade called me and charged my credit card and emailed documents for me to sign. The docs are not from my doctors office and have the wrong doctor on them. They have the wrong mask ordered even though I told them 4 separate times what I use. They also dont stock anything so my machine will be shipped from their sleep center so I wont have it for two more weeks. IF it shows up that will make it 10 weeks to get an order filled from these idiots. Apria is horrible do not use them if you can avoid it.UPDATE: The local office has nice people but sort of clueless. They called and made arraignments for me to pick up a new machine, which I reluctantly did. Over 6 weeks to get a machine. But wait, there is more. They also said that one was shipped to me and I needed to bring it in to the local office or I would be charged twice. The paperwork was still wrong and they charged me for numerous items I did not receive.
My clients doctor ordered an oxygen concentrator and an ocd valve on the 28th October. Here we are the 9th of December and still no equipment!! I spent the first month calling 2-3 times a week to no avail!! I thought that since the female who answered the phone knew exactly what was ordered it was all good. NOT!! I was told a different story every time I called!! We are now looking at going with another DME company because of the incompatance of Apria Healthcare!!Wow!! I thought I was the exception and not the rule!! Whoever wrote the mission statement missed the mark by a long shot!! I am a caregiver and have been asked by different clients for referrals to skilled care facilities and DME companies. I will NEVER recommend Apria!! Next steps include Yelp and BBB!!
Apria Never called me as promised to confirm the order or delivery. I had to keep calling them but could not get an answer as to when the oxygen would be delivered . The oxygen was needed immediately but 5 hours later after not hearing from them I finally got through to somebody who said they were in the Philippines and after a very difficult time trying to communicate with him he said he would take care of it and get back to me. It is now almost midnight and the process which started in the early afternoon has left me with no oxygen and no way of completing the treatment that the doctor prescribed for my pneumonia. This could possibly be a very serious medical catastrophe. do not use this company
Apria continuously messed up my CPAP supply refills. I literally needed to log every calls with their “customer support” to follow-up with my orders and correct their records of me. I don’t have the time nor the effort to babysit this! This continuous BAD experience is counter intuitive to Apria’s so called “Values”!
Terrible customer service on the phone. I was disconnected once, transferred back to the main menu on the next attempt, and then told that customer service could not help me with the delivery date for equipment that (they did confirm) had been ordered by my mother’s doctor. In total, I spent 3 phone calls, 50 minutes - mostly on hold - and never got an answer.
Not worth the efforts. 4 months no cpap.Nothing but a runaround. Id like to sue this joint.
Communication with Apria is next to impossible... and talking to someone in Manila makes no sense when nearest branch is 36 miles away and Manila tells us we can not ‘ walk in’ to local branch...
Doesnt follow through with existing orders
