Spencer is great now. McDonalds is the best in the state. DQ. Best Dippins around. New High School coming. Even our cops are good. And then we top it off with maybe the best Super Market in the state. Prices are also reasonable for a truly world class Market.

I love BigY, they are very clean, and have everything you need.

Finally back to waiting in line normally at registers.. no more feeling like cattle saying what cashier to go to in line.. sushi is great, sub shop great, rotisserie chicken always a favorite.. food service section great for lunch.. I go at least 1x per week.. they have a great selection of groceries, but need to plan based on sales flyers for great deals.. bakery #1 around!

The store is always organized and clean-looking. The store employees are always available to assist. Ive used all departments including Bakery the pizza Department, meat department and seafood everybody is absolutely at their best and the shelves seem to be stocked well. The management at the Spencer location must do a fantastic job for everything to be in such order

Very nice nest store. Clean well lit shelves stocked and produce was great. Plenty of employees working on replenishing or cleaning and they are happy to direct you to your item. Checkout was quick and cost well in line for the quality you take home in your bags.

Clean, well organized, brightly lit. In the southern Worcester County area this is probably one of the best stores of the chain. Being a resident to Southbridge Im often using the Southbridge location but the Spencer location offers much more selection wider aisles and generally a cleaner more put together store. Sometimes its worth the extra 10-mile drive to go to this store.

Big ys awesome best produce around in the meat is good too

Grab and go hot bites and sushi, chicken, and great subs for 7 bucks. Seafood dept cant be missed for the fisherman platter for 11 bucks. Sweet potatoes fries are a nice addition. Pizza is top notch and authentic Italian not Greek crust. I ask for extra sauce and run to the edge. Sushi discount on Wednesday, but the onsite chef makes a great crunchy dragon roll.

Picked up some nice flowers and a case of water. Store very clean and neat.

Really nice supermarket with good quality products. This one is much better than the one in Worcester.

Love this Big Y. Other than all the staff are so friendly and helpful...they really have it down with masking and social distancing! Their system rivals every other store and even some other Big Ys. There are people outside making sure carts are cleaned, inside if its cold out. I now only shop at this store for groceries. If I cant get it there for some reason...I dont buy it.

Store is clean and well-stocked. Employees are friendly.I love their floral department as they always have great selection of nice looking, healthy, indoor plants. Thats typically why I go there, as was the reason today.They also have a good selection of ready to eat food and food that only needs to be warmed up too. Thats convenient on busy nights.They have some decent sale items, but overall I rarely shop there because I find their prices to be too high to do all my shopping.The only thing I dont like, besides pricing, is that they dont have self checkout. Its especially inconvenient with how they still have checkout area set up. You have to walk to other end of store, past all (often open) registers to then wait to be told which register you can go to. It was done as a covid precaution, but no other stores do this and I think its overkill.

This is the grocery store closest to our house so it is our default food store. Sometimes deals are better than the everyday price. Check check out prices which occasionally different from the Shelf prices. The seafood department is the best part of the store

They have the Best Rotisserie Chicken 🍗 around.

This store needs to be managed better. Products are sold a day before expiration. Cat food that is almost 3 weeks expired. I think its time for this big y to clean the shelves and order a new batch to reset their stocking system because its not catching up in time.

Amazing vsuper market

We enjoy shopping here and giving our money to anyone not Walmart. Produce and meats are always fresh, frequently stocked and displayed pleasantly. I only dropped a single star because the prices, while much cheaper than say, Wholefoods, definitely trend high than Wally, Costco, etc. Its worth it to shop in a nicer store, though, and the meats and veggies are nicer. The selection of products is pretty great as well. They carry more local products than any of the big box stores...syrups, sodas, bbq sauces, and more.

I really dont shop here much anymore, the prices are getting out of hand compared to some other local stores. I am also with so many other customers on the subject of them charging for bags. I dont care about their environmental spiel when tons of things in the store are packaged in plastic. It is up to the consumer to properly handle plastic disposal. Which I do.Charging for bags makes them look like money mongers, period. We give you our patronage and you cant give us a few lousy paper bags for all the money we spend in Big Y. It should be a given as it has always been. Cheap money monger - that is how it makes you look. Reusable bags are bacteria and virus carriers - people dont clean them properly, if ever and they spread whatever is on them from lack of hygiene. Who knows what is on those things.And I am happy to see Governor Baker just said today that hed rather people not use reuseable bags because of those reasons and that for the time being stores cannot charge for bags. As it should be.

Best place to get healthy food

Despite not having the item I was looking for (little debbie pumpkin cookies) I was impressed by the cleanliness of the store and the friendliness of the employees. Look forward to my next trip there.

I gave Big Y a 1starrr... because of experiences I have had with cashier lady Brenda... She has being rude to me a few times... I dont know her and she doesnt know me. I dont know what her reason or reasons. I am a customer. A woman of color, I kept going back to the store because I dont have this problem with anyone else that works in the store, going there to shop a few times a week, I tried to avoid her and didnt realize and was called over to be checked out by her and she did it again. It is very unfortunate that one person can create such a bad experience for all other experiences i have had at the store.

Big Y is one of my favorite grocery stores

My first time at Big Y was a bit overwhelming. I just didnt know the lay out of the store. Once i was able to get a feel of the store so to speak, things went smoothly. On this visit, I admired how clean the store was, given the amount of shoppers were there. The prices were comparable to the location, and the staff was patient, kind, & quite helpful. I have since been to this store numerous times. I dont live in the area. I come to this store to stock up on what ill be needing for my visit.

Charging for bags to carry out your groceries is more a cost savings for Big Y than it is an environmental issue. They could do like Target and give you a DISCOUNT for not using their bags! They are not passing on the money they are making for charging 10 cents/bag by lowering their already high prices. Hence, its a bottom line issue - not environmental.

Very clean friendly service. Great flowers and fresh produce. Good meat selection and toilet paper is back.

They have great selection and extremely fresh produce. They are pricier than the other local grocery stores, but you also get what you pay for. The only key feature they are missing is a salad bar, but they make up for it with some of their other prepared foods.

Its a nice store. At least the one in Spencer is. Prices are a little higher than others but the produce and meats are nice and fresh. They have a great bakery and seafood department. Their fish and chips are awesome.

Big y has a great selection of produce and organics. The bakery is also very good. The prices are a little higher than other stores I feel but they make up for it with killer deals that are like buy 1 get 2 free. They have a ton of variety as well. The people are incredibly helpful

Great service. I got a large sub, a cold brew coffee, and a 1liter polar seltzer for $10. I would go here in a jiffy to get a sub or grinder over subway.

Great selection of organics. Plus this is the the best local place for FRESH seafood. They also just got a sushi bar. Prices can be high, but as long as you stick to what is on sale; there can be some really great deals.

Big Y has the best sales in my opinion. This particular one is newly renovated. The new layout makes the place look very appealing.

This is my store of choice in Spencer area. Prices may be a little higher for certain items but it is a pleasant experience. I only wish they were open till 10 pm.

Great quality. Good produce and good selection. A little on the more expensive sides of place to shop for food and other items. However, most Big Ys have a good value when items are on sale but that is the only thing I would shop here for for, items that are on sale or discounted. Im sorry to say Ive run in on several occasions with bad dates on a variation of foods. Had to downgrade 1 more star for that and taking away the gold coin program.

This store was once one of my favorites. However, since they redesigned the store several months ago and raised prices significantly, I dont enjoy shopping there anymore. Price Chopper and Hannefords are a much better value for your dollar.

Most expensive store ever

First time for this store in Spencer. Been to other big ys before and this one is probably the best. Fresh food clean store. Thats what you want when you go grocery shopping.

The person working seafood took the time to make informed decision about which fish I could or could not eat while pregnant they even were able to find a dinner deal in the computer to save me some money which helped to be able to get some for my kids who wont eat any fish or seafood got them tilapia because it has a touch of sweetness to it they thought the fish was given candy

Have some great prepared food options here, decent sushi and fried fish. Grocery prices are expensive compared to Walmart, but they have good deals when you pick up things on sale.
