This is unquestionably one of the greatest used book stores in Washington State. Their selection ranges from mainstream to wildly eclectic; I have discovered many long-forgotten masterpieces and authors among their stacks, books I haven’t found anywhere else, but they also have new bestsellers alongside the out-of-print treasures. Their fiction and history sections are enormous, and their basement floor features deep-dive choices among any subject you can think of. You can spend hours wandering through this bookstore, and you should.

Nice selection. If youre looking for something specific, theyll take your contact info and call you when they get a copy in. Tuesdays and Saturdays you can bring in a dozen books at a time to sell.

They had the book I needed but the customer service leaves something to be desired. It bordered on rude. I felt my need to be rung up was an inconvenience, and felt really uncomfortable about the whole thing.

Very helpful customer service. Found the book I was looking for, and three more for under $20! You have to get downstairs and end up in the backroom where the really, really discounted books!

Fun place to get lost. Actually got a free book off the free rack, as well as picked up a couple of books for me and youngest grandson. I go frequently, but plan to stay awhile. Not a run in and out place!

Lots if variety. Fiction is primarily upstairs and non fiction downstairs. There is a bargain section downstairs that you definitely have to check out.

Thus is my favorite used book store. Its clean, they have a great selection, and prices are better than reasonable.

Large selection with fiction mostly upstairs and nonfiction mostly downstairs. There’s a separate small room with old classics. And some shelves with collectible editions. Also a few shelves downstairs of really cheap bargain books which is always worth searching through for a gem. I only wish they had more vintage literary classics. Plenty of genre fiction if that’s your preference. I always leave with something regardless.

I shop at 2nd Look Books as often as I can get to the South Hill. The people are always patient & helpful. The selection is outstanding & the prices are unbearable.

My favorite bookstore in Spokane. They have the largest range of used books of any store in town, and their selection is always changing as they get new books in daily.The staff is warm, friendly and knowledgeable. They are always willing to help me find anything I might be looking for, and they go out of their way to point out new books that have come in recently.They give good credit for books you bring in to donate, and their prices are more than fair.If youre looking for good books at a good price, as well as friendly conversation, stop in and give 2nd Look a try.

This just might be the Holy Grail of used book stores. They have a large selection (some of it is in the hidden basement!), they have friendly staff, they have helpful staff (sometimes staff are friendly but not helpful, or they help you if they have to - these guys are both friendly and helpful), and... Drum roll... They have a digital inventory! When I asked for a particular author, with which they were not very familiar, they just looked him up in the computer and zipped over to the correct shelf. It was probably the best experience Ive ever had at a used books store.

The books are great. Staff are polite but dont go out of their way for you if they have a regular chatting with them. All customers count and you lost my purchase because of lack of customer service. I love books so I will give you one more try.

The employees make this place special, in addition to the always changing inventory. The staff are knowledgeable and dont mind spending the extra time needed helping anyone who may need it. I did a book trade in (policy is 12 books accepted per trip, but you can always donate more) which grants you store credit if value is determined. Great to have this resource in our neighborhood

Great selection of out-of-print and well-worn books

Been here a few times and I’m never disappointed. They have a large selection of used books, so plan on spending some time here. They also have some rare books. Their prices are reasonable and the staff is helpful and friendly. You can also trade in your used books here. There is plenty of parking. If you enjoy reading a lot this is the place to get some bargains.

What a wonderful bookstore! Just experienced the basement for the 1st time as I have only been in looking for a specific book before.... Wow! What a selection of excellent books at a very very affordable and reasonable price, take all of my money!

This place is great. Really one of the last places that you can find quality used books at a brick and mortar location. Staff is very helpful and pleasant. It is also much much bigger than what it looks like outside. If youre one who loves browsing and finding something obscure then this is the place for you.

Every used bookstore has its own personality. Theyve got to cater to a local market. 2ndLook is strong in past fiction best sellers, diy, biographies. No classic literary like Faulkner, Hemingway -- thats going to be a used bk store around a college. Most importantly, these stores are a labor of love. Support them. If you dont like a used bk store, youre just in the wrong one.

This little gem is the neatest place to spend several hours in. Be sure to check out both levels. Very clean and organized. They have some seating so that is very helpful not having to constantly stand. Its well worth stopping in for any book lover. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Wait, so I pay anywhere from, say $10.00- $15.00 average / book I bring in. Lets say I brought in 30 books. Thats roughly $360.00, give or take. So, Im simply supposed to give them away out of the goodness of my heart without any compensation whatsoever? They should at least pay something. Maybe its their overhead for renting that prime space in a location next to Trader Joes. Anyway... Ive got TONS of murder/mystery books 90% hardback in excellent condition, however, there will be a monetary cost associated with the exchange...(SHEESH)

Lots of books! There is definitely a large selection. The prices seemed a little high (my opinion) but the bargain books are definitely worth checking out!

2nd look books USED to be great. My family has been buying books there for years. The staff is very rude. The original owner Anne would hate to see how downhill this shop has gone. You just lost a 30 year customer.

I used to frequent this store constantly when I lived on the South Hill years ago. I was surprised to see it still there as not many used book stores are still around. Still has the best selection of used books.

Its a good place to go to look for used books. Huge selection, however, they may not have the item you are looking for. They are almost sure to have interesting browsing for anybody. Prices are okay. Bargains can be found. I havent exchanged books there, but its an idea.

Average every couple months here. You can save much time by phoning but just browsing is nice; bargain books offer great savings but nonalphbetical so you gotta focus and expect a stiff neck.

They definitely have a lot of books but they need serious customer service training. It feels like they really dont care, because customers will come anyway. Not the kind of place where I want to buy from.

I found some great books for relatively cheap (The Lightening Thief was only two dollars). However, my experience here was ruined by an unfriendly staff member. As we were checking out, we asked her to look up if the store had the first book in a series. She seemed very annoyed at the question, even though signs around the store encouraged such questions. She continued to be short and rude with us throughout the transaction. Overall, her behavior has made the likelihood of a returning visit slim.According to my receipt, the clerks name is McNamara. If you are lucky enough to come to the store when she is not present, Im sure your visit would be much more enjoyable.
