Came in here today ans saw lots of people eating without masks. I was asked to put on a mask to order but seeing all the other people eating without masks in close proximity, as a scientist I could not justify it. I said I would not wear a mask and the guy behind the counter refused to take my order. Science? Politics? Or is liberalism really a mental disorder? This store plays politics otherwise they would not have in order seating within such close proximity.
If you are looking for some nice gifts that are really interesting but not over the top this is a great place to look. Also the coffee is amazing whether you chose to take some beans home or get some of the freshly brewed stuff to get a nice bit of energy the house blend is amazing. An awesome place to grab a cup and maybe something to read from the front and relax in the cafe for a bit or get some coffee and go. Really a nice space with a calm but energetic atmosphere.
This is more of a gift shop than a coffee shop, but the place is great for unique items not found in everyday places. You can easily spend a couple hours looking at all of their neat items representing the store and Spokane Washington. The back part of the store is the coffee shop with seating outside. This is definitely a must stop for coffee enthusiasts when passing through town. I highly recommend it.
This is great place with a large gift shop and small cafe in the back. I wish I had more time to look around when I was there! I got their iced tea which was very refreshing and flavorful on a hot day. I hope to stop by again when Im in Spokane because there are a lot of small things that I would love to buy!
Absolutely LOVE visiting this coffee shop! Good books & great coffee!
Long time downtown favorite. Lovely items for sale, great tea and coffee and food offerings. Highly recommend.
A laid back and eclectic coffee and gift shop combo in downtown Spokane. Their coffee is one of the best in town. I love coming here every season; order my coffee and watch the locals enjoying themselves. The baristas are cool and their craft is marvelous. The small gift shop has an array of unique hand made and environmentally conscious items.
Amazing experience. If you find yourself in Spokane stop buy. A great shop to find one of a kind gifts. Looking for tea and coffee this is the place
I love Atticus so much, awesome staff, drinks and gifts. I always walk away with something great. I recommend trying the southern mint iced tea.
Horrid customer service.Rude entrance, didnt listen to request.Bad attitude and just overall bad energy. Would recommend somewhere else if looking for good service.
All I ever drink is black coffee, and what theyre serving here is pretty good. No-frills espresso joint, perfect place to get a drink and take a walk by the riverfront. Some neat stuff in the gift shop area to browse but I didnt really look too hard at what they had there.
Love this place. And I love being 1 of Lilys favorite customer ❤️
Always good coffee, reasonably priced. Always decent, friendly baristas. The baked goods they sell -- including the gluten-free -- are killer good. Love this place. The only down side is they do get a lot of tourists in the summer who take 15 minutes to order and slow the line way down. But thats not Atticus Coffees fault. :)
The young kid behind the register was passive aggressive I did not appreciate his lack of common courtesy, and the tip button was set to 25% ?? With so many choices of coffee downtown customer service is vital. Perhaps he should work with the beans instead?
Vegan options available! The staff was very happy to confirm for me that the chai tea concentrate is vegan, and they can add soy or coconut milk to it! So of course it tried it and it was excellent. This place is definitely worth stopping, its fun to look around inside, but their patio is also a relaxing spot to sit and sip
Good coffee and great place to get a gift for your tea or coffee lover.
The ambience is really welcoming. I would definitely recommend visiting this cafe and if you are fan of tea, do try the various types of tea they have.
Great coffee and gift shop with patio seating out back. We will be back next week when we come back through!
Avoid like the plague... Worst staff in Spokane. Daft, rude, and honestly it feels like a place that hipsters go to age out. You are a coffee shop barista, this means you work in customer service. Learn to treat people accordingly. They actually have the tip button on the pay station set to 25% which is funny to me.
Fun place but very popular- you might get a long, long line. But the line moved quickly and the drinks were great. Great place to look for gifts.
As coffee lovers with over 20 punch cards for use while traveling throughout Spokane and Idaho, I am disgusted with the CUSTOMER service provided by this business. Recently their concern for their unmasked coffee drinkers was demonstrated to be much higher than for a young woman experiencing pregnancy contractions who on 2 occasions immediately needed to remove her mask while doubled over to get fresh air. The employee firmly spoke to her that her mask needed to fully cover her nose despite her need for air. No compassion, only enforcement of a “law” that protects coffee drinkers and consumers but not pregnant women. God forbid that I or any one else should have a sudden need for CPR or any other physically challenging episode to take place in a business that is obviously only about the money (the paid customer)
Had great service, good coffee, and a delicious lavender lemon muffin thing, would love to return next time I’m back in the area! Worst part was the birds outside wanted my crumbs while I was still eating!
Staff in coffee shop barely gave me the time of day. Gift shop has alot of stuff. I came for tea and just found half empty gross jars. Definitely not a tea focused spot.
Lovely and relaxing. Excellent chai and orange chocolate chip scones to die for!
Roasted coffee, drinks, and gifts galore. A great place to wander around looking for something to buy. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
Delicious coffee and tons of adorable gifts. Lovely staff as well.
Super good coffee, lots of art to look at and books, etc. All for sale.
Where to start, theres so much to see here. I thought I was going to a coffee shop, but this place is sooooo much more. Its full of everything you dont need but youre probably going to buy anyway: teacups; kitchen towels; new books; old book$; Spokane gift shop shirts that arent tourist tacky; gifts for the coolest people you know; and finally coffee.Tip: the wait time for something other than drip coffee or pre packaged snacks can be 5-10 minutes, so order your drink and brows a little while you wait.
Cute gifts and store front with tasty coffee and snack items. A small area out back to enjoy your time and treats.
Very good coffee, nice ambience, and tasty snacks, especially croissants.
Great vibes and a nice place to get quirky or quality gifts with some decent coffee.
I love this shop so much! First off if you haven’t had the Maple Pecan Scone then you haven’t lived. It is delicious, so delicious that I will be trying to figure it out at home. The shop is a nice liberal pocket that felt safe. Super cool trinkets and gadgets and was able to pickup some eclectic gifts for Christmas. I hope that this shop sticks around for a VERY long time. Oh yeah, the coffee was pretty stinkin’ good too!
Snobby people behind the counter didnt like it when I couldnt speak English.. very very rude,, never in my life have I been so disrespected and felt so unwanted in a place.
My boyfriend and I have become regulars of Atticus within the last year and always have a blast. Half of the time we just like to browse their selection, you could have been in that store a million times and guaranteed not to see everything. Super quirky cute store, their coffee is great and the people are sweet. Be sure to go there for cards, I used to write a lot and send letters across the country and they have the best selection guaranteed to make you laugh or make your heart melt.
The best coffee, chai tea, Italian soda...
Your coffee is so good it must be brown bean juice gifted from the gods.
Great coffee and really cool gifts too.
Coffee was decent but they don’t believe in science. Vaccinated people are still required to wear masks?! No public restrooms.
They totally adapted to the pandemic. There are no tables inside. But still the same great people, great coffee, great stuff.
Very, very dark and bitter. Great service and ambiance though. If you are a Barstucks fan you’ll be happy. If you like Indaba or Ladder or Slate or Revel77 save your money for them.
Interesting place, great service, great prices, great latte
One of my favorite quirky gift shops, and I love the loose tea and bulk coffee selection! Whenever I visit Spokane I always stop here to refresh my home brews! They also have amazing lattes at their cafe.
Disrespectful establishment selling sacred religious tokens for profit. Tibetan prayer flags displayed inside of a tiny bookshelf below waist height, while their dish towels hand by the ceiling blowing in the draft. That wouldve been the appropriate location for prayer flags, if they even cared to respect another culture and religion.I kindly brought this to the attention of the lady working up front, and she got defensive when I explained that Tibetan prayer flags are to never be hung where they stay still or close to the ground - she then claimed her husband is Buddhist...... So youd think she would know, right?? Instead of blatantly disrespecting a sacred token? Unbelievable.
If I could give this coffee shop negative stars I would. The WORST experience. If you choose not to wear a mask, then this shop is not for you. I’ve never been greeted with such disrespect from any business in my life. On our way out the door we were told to, get out and never come back.
Oh how I wish Atticus Coffee & Gifts was near to where I live or somehow I could be near to where they are .. every inch of them speaks of one of those coffee places you would want to come out of a TV series .The place has that look, that feel, absolutely friendly people / baristas behind the counter, awesome food and more importantly that cozy atmosphere .. I am, without a shadow of doubt, a big big fan :)Apart from that, the shop in the front is so cute .. and those coffee and teas that they sell are absolutely amazing. Also, the vegetarian (lacto veggie) choices of sandwich they have is really amazing .. wife is a vegetarian and it really feels so good. The other day we had a mocha and tried their fresh brewed tea (mint and lemon) .. shared a pesto cheddar sandwich lightly toasted, everything of which was perfect .. started right from their service btw :)Nothing much else to say, except - A big fan right here :)PS - also, loved the fact that they stock kambucha .. well for me this kinda variety is being a true tea / coffee shop.
An excellent selection of books, niche supplies, and coffee! What more could you ask for?? Customer service was excellent, I felt welcomed and safe, well mannered dogs are allowed and given treats and water in the coffee shoppe! Also note this shoppe has excrllent stickers for all you sticker hoarders.
I go here to shop for people I love and for every occasion: birthdays, Christmas/solstice/winter, etc. Everything in here is beautiful and special. Support local businesses and artists and people. Coincidentally they also make some of the best coffee in town. Dont sleep on this place! It is a must-go for visitors and locals like.
This coffee shop does not have WiFi. They’ll let you know after you order $15 of coffee.
A nice and cozy place to be, the bookstore/ gift shop was very awesome so many things to look at and explore the staff there was very friendly! The coffee shop is also worth trying out, the staff is friendly there as well and the coffee was delicious! I got a mocha and it was so good!
Great gift shop. Unique gifts, tea, pottery, cards, games. 💕
This is such a great place for special gifts! They have locally made items and really unique options! The people who were working were also so nice and helpful but not pushy at all!
One of my favorite spots downtown!
Amazing coffee and great service.
Always the best place in spokane
So cute I totally just love this place!
A little spendy but comfy
Coffee and book shop. Great looking gifts.
The most terrible coffee shop in Spokane. Take your money and your patronage somewhere else.
What a joke this place is. Im medically exempt from wearing a mask but still was told no service. Cool, guess youve lost a client for life.
The best scones I’ve ever eaten. Ever, anywhere in the world. Not just because the coffee is excellent. Plus, fine stationery, cool Inland Northwest themed gifts, friendly staff.
This place has friendly service, amazing staff, delicious drinks and food, and some pretty cool things to buy, be it a gift, a card, a book, some unique teas, or tea accessories. I found out today they even sell incense! Definitely one of Spokanes best places to visit.
Cool stuff but a little pricey.
Atticus is one of the most welcoming, open, and inclusive environments in Spokane. When I worked downtown it was always a haven for me. The owners, Kris and Andy, are two of the most thoughtful and encouraging allies that our city is lucky enough to have. Their coffee is always the best in the city and you couldn’t choose to support a more wonderful staff. Thank you for choosing to be a business in Spokane’s community. This is a business worth supporting and going out of your way for.
I love this place. The staff is very friendly and professional and the coffee and pastries are superb.
$$$ but a fun selection of items for the kitchen, lots of tea, nice little coffee shop.
Really nice coffee/gift shop by riverfront park.
Used to be one of our favorite places to get coffee; but, now they have forgotten they are in customer service and are more concerned about themselves. The new sign on their door states We are still wearing our masks, you should too.
It was okay but didnt live up to the hype.
Very cute coffee and gift shop. Loved all the specialty items they had for sale and the coffee was delicious!
Great customer service. And very friendly staff
I have a medical mask exemption. I went in to ask if I could somehow order standing outside. The barista rudely asked, “Where is your mask?”. I said I had a medical exemption. He literally told me in a sharp tone I couldn’t be in there and to get out immediately. I asked if I could order from outside. He again rudely said, “Nope sorry you need to leave.” And of course it was loud enough he had to embarrass me in front of half the store. I turned and walked away and said loud enough so others could hear, “Well, I guess I will not be coming back here ever again.” And that is the truth. It may be a store’s prerogative to not welcome medical exemptions. It’s even their prerogative to not have any outdoor service (not great for their business, though). But to be so rude is uncalled for. I will happily take my business to a number of coffee shops who treat me with respect. End of story.
Much of the merchandise relating to the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird is non existent today. One mural with a quote, and a few mugs and shirts with the word Atticus on it. Not even a copy of the novel was displayed. I was looking forward to purchasing items for my 8th grade class.Would love to know why stores named after beloved characters from an American classic novel, no longer carry merchandise reflecting their namesake? Is this new, because I know several people who highly recommended these stores and the abundance of memorabilia available for purchase.
Super lovely little coffee shop/ gift shop right in the heart of Spokane. If your in town definitely stop by for a hot chocolate and a candle🤗
Because my wife and I’s first date was at Revel—and because their coffee is awesome—we had them cater coffee at our wedding via the To-Go Latte’s. Awesome shop, great coffee, highly recommend.
Great selection of teas and gifts.
Love this spot! one entrance opens to their coffee shop and the other opens to the gift shop. Employees were nice and space was clean. Service was quick! I like that a lot, definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a good coffee spot downtown.
My absolute favorite coffee shop in the state. Their chai teas are fantastic as well. Atticus is a must every time were in town.
Coffee was good, service was good, prices were fair. I feel like its hyped up more than it deserves
