Today my husband took our kids to Retro for a treat. One of my boys have autism and likes what he likes and only what he likes. They were out of the donuts he likes and normally gets there and started to melt down. The girl working the window told them to hold on and came back a few minutes later with 2 donuts for my son just the way he likes them. They specially iced the donuts to make sure he had something he enjoyed! No matter where we may move to in this town we will always come back to this shop no matter the distance.This simple jester of kindness is what makes Retro donut shop out shine all the rest and show my family you and your employees care. Best Donut Shop! When they opened 5 years ago I brought two of my sons there to get donuts. They weren’t quite ready to open for another week when we got there; however, as we went back to the car the owner brought them a dozen donuts out to try❤️ Customers for life!

Retro is hands down one of the best donut shops in Spokane. I love their Ono donuts, but the fritters are SO tasty too! I have yet to try a donut from here that I did like. John, the owner, and his staff are very personable and provide excellent service! The bigger black iced coffee with a splash of cream is another favorite!

We were looking super forward to bacon maple. They seemed like day old. We were all disappointed. When I bit into the coconut, it was so moist and what I had hoped for the bacon maple. Not sure what happened. Hopefully it was a oops, but we will give them another try.

Not your basic donut! Retro Donuts is a whole new level of AMAZING! The Pour-Over Coffee??? WOW! I have never thoroughly enjoyed a cup of coffee with a splash of cream & minimal sugar so much! Its velvety texture and bold, but not overbearing flavor, is INCREDIBLE!!! And the customer service?? Impeccable! Also, I must add ... John (owner) is the most delightful human being EVER!

They have really good donuts! My husband had the maple sausage & egg breakfast donut. He added cheese to it. He loved it!! The staff is great & really friendly!My brother told us to try the GiGi.. and we were hesitant but tried it and loved it. We should always listen to the old adage dont knock it til you try it!

Great customer service, always greeted with a smile. Fritters and sour cream old fashion are my favorite. Love the huckleberry fritters on Fridays in August. If you like iced coffee like I do the black ice iced coffee is a must. Worth going out of your way if you havent been before.

My wife and I were second in line for their grand opening a few years back and been coming weekly ever since. If you are looking for the best doughnuts in Spokane, or anywhere for that matter, you absolutely need to go to Retro Doughnuts! Better get there if you love great doughnuts. They have delicious coffee, and did I mention, specialty doughnuts as well. You wont be disappointed. Retro donuts is a great choice. Everything is fresh and delicious. I have a kid who is allergic to tree nuts so getting to pick anything in the store (because the store is tree nut free) was a huge surprise for him!

Instead of relying on gourmet selections which are just additional sugary offerings (donuts stuffed or topped with cookies/other items) they offer quality. A traditional donut done right beats all others. Retro Donuts is, without a doubt, the hidden gem that every Spokanite needs to visit.I highly recommend the maple longjohn with bacon - a combination that is as delicious and American as apple pie.

Got there a little late 12:30pm. Probably better in the morning. Old fashioned glazed chocolate doughnut had good flavor. Just tasted like a stale doughnut buy the end of the day. Will not count them out until I try them fresh.

Doughnuts were excellent! No weird atmosphere like VOODOO doughnuts. Dont expect to find any body part shaped doughnuts here. Just quality service and treats! And they have a awesome drip coffee!

It was national donut day, and it was ridiculously busy. Normally I wouldnt give a place that was low on supplies 5 stars, but what they had was great customer service and delicious donuts.

Based on the name you might realize that this is a slightly more traditional donut shop, but dont worry they are fantastic! They have a whole slew of different donuts to choose from that will appease virtually anyone. On this trip we went for both of the shark week special donuts, two Maple bars, one zebra stripe, 1 Boston cream, and 1 blueberry fritter. The shark week specials were pretty awesome. One was raspberry filled with a fin on top while the other was just in the shape of a shark (both have blue frosting). Fun stuff! The other donuts are all pretty classic and really good. They have the perfect density relative to frosting (light and fluffy with just enough frosting). Im personally not a fan of dense donuts, so this was a welcome revelation for my 1st time here. Prices range from up to $3ish each, so a dozen donuts can get pricey depending on what you order - but they are fantastic! Stop in and give retro donuts a try. You wont be disappointed!

Hello,So I went to Retro donuts today and once again, disappointed. The places makes good donuts but they dont know how to make enough of them.Their hours are from 6-3. Today I was there at 1030 and they were out of donuts.I have been there twice before and they were closed before their slated hours.If this is how Retro donuts wants to run their business then fine. But dont say you are open for a certain amount of time and not honor that time.Good riddance, Retro!Disappointed.

The owner of the business came up to me and refused to sell to me because I work for a delivery company period he was rude he threatened me and said they dont go through a delivery service because they do their own delivery. I dont recommend this donut shop to anyone.

Very nice service and building. We arrived an hour before they closed, so I cant judge the selection; but for average donuts, the prices are extraordinarily high. They tasted good, but certainly not worth the price.

Great classic style donuts with the occasional modern twist! You wont find bacon or Skittles on donuts here, but they still have some interesting, more traditional selections, like blueberry fritters, triple chocolate old fashions, and donuts with savory fillings. The coffee is good as well. Hot coffee if brewed using a pour over to order, and iced coffees are served over coffee ice cubes, so no watered down coffee. I think you can get ice cream with the donuts after 11, but I havent tried it yet.

Great, super yummy donuts! Unfortunately have never been there early enough to try their specialty, the Gigi before they sell out of them, which happens fast! Always busy and always have to wait in a line thats typically all the way to the door, but the line moves fast and have never had to wait long.

I do not have experience eating here but I will soon. The owner, however, stopped at 3:30 am on the side of the road to help me when I ran out of gas on the way to work. I appreciate it. Thank you.

Best maple bars .... they are big! Drip coffee I ordered was mediocre. Ive only ever had maple bars, old fashioned sour cream and apple fritter...all very good. Their aim is to make the donuts of yesteryear that were simple and to the point. Love it.

I enjoy stopping here to pick up donuts for my coworkers every couple of Fridays and the team is always amazed at the size and quality of the donuts. Upon each visit I find a fun, delicious donut selection accompanied by friendly faces. The Czechums are a great tasting hot breakfast option that I love to order. The pour over coffee is also a favorite of mine, it has a really balanced flavor. So far Ive had only positive experiences.

Super friendly staff! The owner is very accommodating. They answered my 6 yr olds many questions. Yummy donuts! And they pay attention to customers. Made my sons hot cocoa a bit cooler so he didnt get burnt! Amazing customer service!

The donuts were awesome! I tried the bacon maple bar donut (it was huge, it was as long as the box they put it in) I got an apple fritter and a chocolate covered m&m one. All of them were very large donuts and VERY tasty. For how big the donuts were I cannot complain about the price. The customer service was good as well, as I went through the drive through. Again, the Bacon maple bar was very good. I will be returning when I am near by this shop!

We saw all the negative reviews and wanted to go check it out for ourselves.. the donuts were good! Way better than your average donuts from the grocery store. They were a little small for the price. Staff was friendly though - overall we were satisfied.

First time in retro doughnuts. I give a strong 4 stars. Staff was friendly and helpful but a little slow considering that there was enough staff to serve more than one person at a time. Good screaming hot coffee. The donuts and pastries were very good. Will try this place again.

Okay, Ive got issues with this place, but the donuts are good and made fresh with fresh, quality, stuff. The maple bars smell like maple sugar..... Expensive donuts, but you shouldnt need more than one. My issue? Ive got four kids. Need more than four napkins. Oh, well. Good donuts.

This is one of Spokanes great hidden donut shops. They have delicious food and the staff is awesome.My favorite pick here is to get a GG (unglazed donut filled with ham & cheese) along with a coffee.The coffee is made fresh in front of you, never again worry if its been sitting in the coffee pot for hours! It takes an extra minute, but its very well worth it.

Donuts were very good. Unique presentation called Arctic Circle- your choice of donut cut in half and filled with Tillamook ice cream. My son said it was fabulous!Service was excellent. I recommend this quaint locally owned business.
