Ivy was an absolute delight, was helpful, and helped my partner and I learn about a side of cooking we had never dealt with before. I was a vinegar hater before walking in the door and I walked out with two bottles. Everything we purchased tasted incredible, and the service was absolutely phenomenal. I cannot reccomend this place enough.

Sorry this is kind of long. I’ve been here 3 times. The first time I went I was stared down by a sole male employee who looked at me as if I was going to steal something. He didn’t greet me, try to show me what was in the store, or ask if I’d been there before. I think with a place like this it could be a really cool and personal experience for the customers if more effort was made by the staff to be helpful and welcoming. I was hoping a second visit would be better so I went back. The same man was there and had the same demeanor so I quickly purchased an oil I was interested in last time and left having an experience just as uncomfortable as the first. The third time I went there was another employee accompanying the man who had been there before. He actually asked me how my day was but while I sampled some oil for the first time at the location since I had felt way too uncomfortable to do so before, I began to feel like he thought I was a nuisance as well. He bottled some oil for me and after I started to look around at the items they have against the wall. I quickly felt uncomfortable again because this time they both were staring. The reason I leave 3 stars is because the oil is extraordinary, but as far as the employees go they could definitely make this a really cool place to introduce oil and vinegar to curious or even more seasoned enthusiasts if they didn’t just stand and stare instead. Over the past two years I’ve become very fond of collecting culinary oil and was excited to see a store like this after just moving to Spokane, but the excitement was replaced by a feeling of judgement and as though I shouldn’t be there. I also discovered they had punch cards on my third visit after the the unfamiliar employee told me about it. Why did the other employee not mention it on my previous purchase?After reading some other reviews before posting this I’m disappointed I haven’t received the same positive service at any of my visits as others who have left more stars.

Great place and the staff was very passionate, knowledgeable and patient. Walked away with a strawberry and rhubarb vinegar which was wonderful.

The customer service is excellent and the decor is lovely. If you are at all familiar with the competitors in Olympia, WA and near Pike Place Market Seattle, you might be disappointed in the quality of the Spokane products and their prices. Unlike the syrupy, rich vinegars on the west side of the state (and in Spain and Greece, where Ive purchased them while traveling), these vinegars are the consistency of water. The olive oil is more expensive than on the west side, and lacks the deep color and fruity taste of a good XVO. As a liter bottle of their Italian herb olive oil was $70, I would suggest buying from the west side

Its a good place clean nice, the managers put up with crazy well. But... They dont really sell anything youd ever want. Unless your looking for a very specific and expensive bottle of kitchen something.

Never gone in where people waiting on you havent been just courteous, but truly knowledgeable, about their products. Wonderful variety of olive, grapeseed oils and vinegars plus other goodies from all over world. Headed back soon.

This is the second time we have been to Oil & Vinegar, but our first time going to the one in Spokane. Both times now that we have been, the service is off the charts. Not only did the gentleman who helped us take time to make recommendations and explain the different profiles, but he did it with a smile even though I’m sure we were annoying with our questions. We will definitely be going back!
