I love this store! I have rented cellos from here for about 5 years and they never fail to provide high quality instruments and customer service!
A little chaotic and messy. The owners and staff are nice and they will do special orders.
One of the best music stores in Washington. The place is legendary in Spokane and respected across the PNW. If you really want to get a quality repair job done, go here-- Robin has seen just about everything. They are the tried and true backstage crew to make sure you sound your best out there!
Great little store, wide variety but small selection. Owner is very kind and will order items to the store if you ask.
I loved renting my flute
My partner and I decided to take a look around today, he was considering buying a ukulele that was displayed and also seeing if there were any saxophones. We came in and the man at the counter was substantially rude right off the bat. After grilling my partner about previous music experience (he does piano, base guitar, guitar and music composition) we were told the store was not for what we were looking for very rudely. Mind you they had products we were interested in right in front of us. We decided to look around a bit anyway thinking the store itself was charming but the whole time the cashier was following our every move glaring his heart out as if I was about to snatch a guitar off the shop floor! Having just moved to the area it was heartbreaking to experience such a traumatic experience from a local shop that we wanted to support (partner had been looking forward to going for 2 weeks.) This was my first time ever being shooed out of a shop and I would beware anybody else going in of the experience I had today, because it’s ruined it for me.
Quick, friendly & easy service to have a ukulele string fixed.
During the beginning of covid, I decided to re-take up the violin after YEARS of not playing. Amend Music Center was amazingly helpful! They helped me to decide on everything that I would need, correct size, chin-rest or not, etc, and answered ALL my questions. After so many years, I would have had no idea without the friendly assistance and expertise of the folks at Amend Music Center! Thank you!
We have been satisfied Amend clients for six years and wouldnt dream of going anywhere else for the products and services they provide! Friendly owners and staff, competitive pricing for instrument rentals and truly wonderful service all around :)
I have been a rental customer for 3 years. My daughter plays the violin and weve consistently rented so-so instruments from them. At first I sought them out because they were my local, neighborhood music shop and I want to support local businesses as much as I can. Unfortunately, their customer service has been consistently bad every single time Ive been in the shop. Employees (owners? Family members? Who knows) are always slow to respond—the paperwork on the counter is more important than a living person standing right in front of them. Once they acknowledge you, its to speak condescendingly and make you feel like you couldnt possibly know anything about music or instruments. A request for a violin case with backpack straps was met with sighs, eyerolls, and an offer of a case with one strap (Kids dont really use both straps these days was the explanation.) But this latest visit was the final straw for me. My son is just starting out playing the cello and we went in to rent one. The young man told me I was a fool for coming in looking for anything so late in the school year, and that even if we still had any cellos, we wouldnt have one in that size. I was simply asking for the size his teacher had told me to get. What a great way to instill a lifelong love for music! He was basically begging me to leave and take my money to another store. I was also looking for a particular type of ukulele pick, and his condescending response took the cake. Standing in front of a wall display of UKULELES, he said, Were actually more of an ORCHESTRAL instrument store, so if youre looking for anything like that, youll want to try the Valley. Good grief. Ill be taking my business elsewhere, and encouraging others to do the same.
Theres only so many music stores in Spokane where you can rent lease or buy instruments for your kid. This place is one of the best if not the best. I have one kid who plays the saxophone multiple types of saxophone in fact and another who plays a trumpet. We bought the saxophones from amend and the trumpet from another place. Amend has the best prices in fact even down to their Reeds for the saxophone clarinet woodwind instruments Etc their reeds are the same if not cheaper than Amazon and they do that to stay in business. For your repairs they usually include that in the least cost and for when your lease is up the cost is reasonable Beyond reasonable usually and if its ever going to be more than an excess amount they call you they talk to you about it but they even have a little price chart where no matter what your cost of repair would never go above that x amount even if you run your instrument over and flatten it out. I believe its family-run Im not sure but its a nice place always more than helpful friendly overall hands down the best place in Spokane
Too easy. I needed to rent an instrument for a student. After becoming frustrated with Hoffmans policies, I found this shop. It was exactly what I expected when it came to renting and instrument, I was in and out in about ten minutes. Highly recommend for those who are looking for a student instrument to rent without all of the rent to own hassle of Hoffmans. And half of the rental amount is still applied to the purchase of an instrument should you choose to buy one, to me a pretty standard policy and a refreshing one after dealing with Hoffmans. Great atmosphere, immensely friendly staff, highly recommended.
Best music store in Spokane
We were excited to rent. At the beginning of the year the lady that runs the office informed my roommate and I that we can rent the instruments and the rent would go towards the purchase of the instrument. She said we would pay every fall and we could even keep them through the summer or return them. We specifically clarified with her that would still go towards the purchase and she said yes.We got a letter from them recently to return the instruments, so we came in with them. The boy that was there then explained that if we returned them it would not go towards the purchase but we would have to pay for them right then if we kept them. When I tried to explain what the lady at the beginning of the year had said the boy rudely interrupted me multiple times. When I called him on it he said for me to continue but immediately after I started again he cut me off again. He was very inconsiderate and did not care what I had to say.I get there is a policy that is in place and the lady lied to me at the beginning of the year, I also get that they really dont care or even know how to talk to people when there is a concern. If you had asked me at the beginning of the year how I felt about this business I would have raved about how friendly everyone is, thats just a facade.Im not happy at all how I was treated or how I was spoken to. He talked down to me and didnt care what I had to say even if I was misinformed, he still could have taken the time to actually listen.
Stellar job on my old flute being serviced. I handed it down to my daughter and I dont remember it ever being that shinny! Absolutely the best work Ive ever seen!
Outstanding customer service! I called for a quote on a repair to a cello. Talking to Robin, he voluntarily explained why a repair cost what it did. Not only half the price of violin world, but V. World was rude for no reason.
I took my saxophone for a repair to this shop, they were friendly even though Im a white immegrant that speaks broken English. I cant remember if the saxophone got fixed to how I needed it to be fixed but I remember having a very good experience working with these people.
Robin Amend gave me a good estimate of the value of my violin, should I decide to sell it.
The owner pleasantly advised us the sax we bought elsewhere was low quality and needed repairs, but offered a fair price for repairs and provided knowledgeable advice about what level of instrument to consider next.
Super friendly staff, and know exactly what they are talking about.
So friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Amend Music Center for all your instrument needs. Grab a coffee and a scone next door at the Rocket Bakery.
The best service, repair, and instruments around. A lovely example of family-owned business, couldnt recommend highly enough.
This people are the real blessing for Spokane. They repair music instruments fast with high quality and for reasonable price
Kindness and excellent customer service. A young musician had a viola repaired and a new case for it.
Friendly, knowledgable and very helpful to a first-time band mom.
Always very good work and prompt!
Easy leasing program for school instruments. Very knowledgeable and friendly.
The boy was quite splendid, service was quality.
Amazing place i showed up 10 mins before they closed to get my wife a cello and they just talked to me and showed me what they had no problems very friendly and clean i would recommend this place to everyone!
I really like how nice the people are working run it
Exceptional service small business with quality care!
School instrument rental- I will spare the details of my experience and instead say ***Make sure you read ALL of the contract before starting*** and note rate changes for 2nd year if continuing.
I just really went in and out to get a book and clarinet reeds for school. I was done in about 5 minutes.
Excellent service!
Nice place
