Has all my kayak fishing needs and the staff is very helpful.

I have been to Austin Canoe & Kayak in Spring, TX. only twice, but I have called with questions and for help numerous times. My first visit to the store was my first foray into kayaking, period. I needed to determine which kayak was the best fit. They spent considerable time asking me questions and letting me try on various kayaks until I chose which one I needed.This last visit (on a Sunday) was to pick up a high-angle paddle. Not knowing if my husband and I would make it to the store on our way back from Tomball before it closed, I called ahead. Fidel answered and patiently responded to a few questions about what they had in stock - lending his knowledge to my decision-making. He told me not to hurry - to be safe on the road - and offered to deliver the paddle to me in the next couple of days if we couldnt make it on time. NOW THAT IS SERVICE.I live in Huntsville, TX., and he had planned to drive into town a couple of days later. Fortunately, we made it in time, and I picked up the paddle he set aside for me, another life jacket, and my husband purchased a fishing rod.It is rare to get that kind of service these days. COVID has felt so isolating - and it feels like it has lessened customer service when you are in an actual store. I appreciate Fidels willingness to go the extra mile (literally). I also appreciate their store employees general friendliness, expertise, and how they fully respond to questions - on the phone or in the store.

My only issue with this establishment is their unwillingness to help resolve a broken seat clip on a brand new $1500 kayak they sold me...Spending weeks to get resolve before ever even being able to use the product is and was frustrating to say the least. Luckily NUCANOE sent me free parts to fix this issue but in reality yall should have done it as part of basic customer service!

Why even be open if you have the doors locked swung by real quick to grab a rod holder they have masks for a reason if not just do online

Great service. Got a good deal on a Seastream Angler 120. They helped me load and when my brand new roof rack system proved defective they cut me a $50 discount on a replacement. Good stuff. Highly recommended.

Great group of people that helped me out in a jam. Lost the keys to my Yakima cargo box and they took care of me alin under 5 minutes. Aside from that on the Kayak side, they have the best selection I have seen and seem more concerned about getting you into something you need for your intended use rather than trying sell you the most expensive kayak. I would definitely recommend this place.

Excellent customer service. Picked up a tandem kayak today and they made sure I had the correct mounts for my car and then helped me set it all up. If I need another kayak this will be my first stop.

Andy, at the Houston North location provided my wife and I with excellent customer service. He knew we had a trip that we were going on and could not get the kayaks that we wanted in time. So he found another place that had some in stock and contacted me with their info. You have earned all my business in the future!

Bill was the best. He got us a good deal on multible kayaks and fixed a trailer and sold it to us at a great price. Bill listens to what we wanted and got us on the right kayaks.

Been an ACK customer for years. Can not recommend this store location, terrible customer service. I get these are unique times but their communication or lack thereof nothing short of sucked through months of mixed messages, false promises, and some flat out lies. Went through multiple personnel turnover during my jacked up order and the one left standing at the end was arrogant, indifferent, and had no interest in making things right.

Great selection of kayaks, pretty much have any accessory you’re looking for. The staff on the other hand, might need brushing up on the product they’re selling and where it is in their store(disorganized). Also, few items are mis-marked on price and they give a hard pass on honoring the price on the merchandise. Still a good place to check out though.

Do not waste your time driving over here. They will not allow you in the store to even view their inventory. One hour drive to this place and the guy was super rude. Canceled our $1300 online order due to this. You lost two sales today.

Andy has been a joy to work with. I have had issues with a piece of equipment and he has championed my case with the manufacturer and ensured that I always had a loaner when down for repairs. I have not lost a second on the water, thanks to Andy and the guys at ACK.

Bought a Pescador Pro 100 from you. Great service, great staff. Very happy with my purchase. Took it out today for its maiden voyage. Lake Athenz in east Texas. Strong wind today, wake from big ski boats, this yak took it like a champ. Cut the water well and very stable. No water inside after 2.5 hours. Water outside was only from my paddle. Thank you all for helping me with my purchase.

Holiday 1 for 2 sale!My girlfriend and I ordered a kayak the week prior to a holiday weekend; essentially at the exact same time. I got notification that mine would arrive Friday. I assumed both would arrive on time, given the warehouse is 2 hours down the road and these are two like kind items ordered at the same time. I stayed home the day on Friday to ensure we had them for our “kayaking” weekend. No notice was given by the shipper (even though it said 30 minutes would be granted), they just showed up. etc. Only one is one the truck. I get in the back, figuring it was a mistake. No, only one boat on the truck.Ok…holiday weekend plans now blown, then begins the follies of who dropped the ball. ACK blames the shipper, said both were on the truck. Shipper says they subcontract and thus it was that company. Days later and still no kayak. Even Tuesday, we receive a notification that the kayak is on the truck due to arrive May 28th. Whew, finally…….only we spent another day at home waiting, and no kayak. Now it’s 10 days later, and after having them talk to each other (FINALLY), they find out it was never shipped. And on top of that, there is no more inventory. There is speculation that there will be inventory upcoming in maybe a week, but nothing concrete. The only thing that is concrete is that ACK is sitting on $800 dollars of my money (including a shipping fee, go figure) and I’m left with a promissory note but no way to know for sure if I’ll get what I want or in a timely fashion.Thus, I had to cancel the order. The concession offered was to ship to the store for free. Ok, welcome to what REI already does. Or better, Dick’s has actual inventory with no shipping charges at all, albeit not my first choice of color.You know I wanted to like these guys; it’s Austin and local and hip, and I’m sure they’re very knowledgeable. However, if their supply chain is this bad and customer service (although friendly) really doesn’t offer anything for me to leave them steward of my $800 for an infinite time frame, then why wouldn’t I just go with the ‘big boys’ who can at least provide me with what I pay for on the spot.

This is one of several ACK locations across Texas. This Spring, TX store is huge! I was amazed at such great selections and wide variety of merchandise. I recommend checking them out!

Ive rented a kayak from the Austin, TX location, but had never rented one from the Spring, TX location until this last weekend. Unfortunately, the one I rented came with a raised chair, but they didnt include the straps and buckles to attach the chair. I didnt want to micromanage and question the employee who got everything together, but I guess I should have because he wasnt going to check and make sure everything was ready for me. He also seemed uninterested in helping at all.I didnt realize the straps were missing until I got 2 hours down the road to my destination and found out paddling any distance was going to be pretty difficult with my chair moving around all over the boat.When I returned the kayak, I told the gentleman at the counter about my issue and he said the previous people whove rented it broke the straps so they just stopped replacing them and thats just how it is. I dont see why I have to suffer because of what a previous customer did to their rental kayak.I would assume that if Im paying the full rental fee that I would get a full kayak, ready to be used, but I guess thats just not how it is at the Spring, TX ACK.

Excellent service, they offer lay a way, employees are very nice, helpfull an have alot of knowledge on their products. ( not just some person there to get paid) ...I highly recommended buyin a kayak and or gear from there..I bought the Native Ultimate FX 12 in hidden oak color from there..

This place is hands down the best place to rent or buy kayaks from. The service was cray great. They loaded the truck, let us use an extender, life jackets and demoed every thing for us. Made the process so easy! You must reserve in advance though bc they are very popular! Especially during holidays like 4th of july. Just heads up!
