Well stocked, very busy store,it not in the best part of town..but the sales good and prices are great.
They have what you need. Inexpensive. Lots of choices. Friendly. Safe. Lots of parking. Short lines. Theyre hard to beat.
Nice store to get stuff at a very discounted price, well stock, clean store and friendly staff
Nice store for shopping. Not too big to get lost in. Wheelchair accessible.
OMG save a lot was in life support, Im so happy that it back to what it use to be.Ill be doing my grocery there again from now on.
I miss this store in Boston, Fair prices.
Things seem to be going in a better direction over there, because for a while I thought they were closing.
Good products, Great staff (well most of them) the biggest problem is theres always only one register open, so if youre in a rush, youre in trouble. Sometimes the lines are about 10 to 12 people strong and youre usually stock behind a bunch of really full carts, something that should take 5 minutes turns into 20+ minutes.
Everything is way to over priced and all their fruit are all rotten. Do not buy at this store
Dont deserve 1 star!Horrible service and always a line out the door.Im diabetic and was just kicked out after asking for another worker (which there are many) to open another lune.....
Clean and friendly. Able to find what I needed. And the prices are excellent.
I like 👍 good prices
It could be better. Most of the time just one cashier and couple employees. If they improve that I am sure sales will improve. Poor management 😒🙄
They usually have everything Im looking for. The staff is fantastic. And the stores conveniently located.
I like buying at save a lot, all though their produce section could use some attention.
Its all good
If youre looking to save a few dollars on your grocery budget then you should browse through Save-A-Lot and compare.
Still a little ghetto but cheap food and not bad
Quick, great service. Able to go in and out for what I needed.
This place just gets worse if thats possible live within walking distance they dont have nothing anymore have been going here for 12 years all done no more
After employees dont wear masks very rude customer service.. Store is very dirty.. Then theirs pan hands outside of the store. And they dont do anything about them.. I would never go their again.. I think someone has to do something about management cuz its a very poor
Not great. Store could not give me my change back because of a coin shortage. This what I deal with shopping in urban areas! Do better!
Im not happy that they changed the hours
No carts and bums begging
Fresh food, havent been in a long time & Im still happy with the quality of food.
No carriages no watermelon no kind of food poor service
Helpful staff and terrific variety for a small town grocery store. Always well stocked.
Good prices
They never have enough cashiers. So for that reason you always have to wait in long lines.
Have certain good I like that cant find in other grocers
I hate that they always have just 1 or 2 lines opened and the lines go all the way 1/2 way down the aisles. And then you have the cashiers on their phones chatting on speaker with people or texting and making you wait even longer. I go here cause the prices on groceries is affordable but it is lacking some supervision and proper training of employees, and a manager or owner that actually is supervising the store.
Good supermarket, good prices. But needs shopping cars and more employees...
Very cheap for those that really dont have money to spend
I really like this store. They have very good in season produce prices and some really great sales on steaks. Almost all of their regular prices are lower than big chain stores. My only complaint is not against the store itself, but against the chain. They dont carry enough name brand stuff, sometimes there is just no substitute for certain things.
No lines early in the morning. Limited please but comparable to Big Y and less expensive. Quality customer service?
Not many products
The only complaint i have is that if you dont have a quarter for a cart, you are in trouble.
No carts to shop with in the store, no taco seasoning on the shelf. No personnel around to help. Not a store to count on to do a full grocery shop. Its at a convenient location but needs improvement.
Save-A-Lot is a deep-discount, no-frills supermarket. There are lots of private label and generic goods, warehousr-type shelving, and you will need to either bring your own bags, buy them at checkout, or scrounge empty boxes as you shop to pack your groceries. They generally have excellent produce, often at very low prices, and a fair selection of meat. Can be kind of cluttered at times. Expect a wait during checkout, the lines sometimes get long and most shoppers arent here for a quick trip, they are doing weekly or biweekly grocery shopping with overflowing shopping carts.Bottom line: Look past the surface of what seems to be a tired store catering to a down and out neighborhood, because you WILL save money shopping here.
Go there every week.
I am very disappointed about this store. Because I have been a customer for a long time now. And I always enter this store with my back pack. Because when I finish paying my groceries. I but my food in my back pack. But yesterday on June 3 2021. A employee comes to me. Saying that I am not allowed inside with a back pack. Because they think I am going two steal or something. And I told them that the reason why I have a back pack. Its because I walk all the way from home. Because I dont drive. And its easier for me grather than caring on bags. And another thing is. They dont have any shopping cart. And everyone have to carry the things in there hand. And I give them only zero ⭐ star. For trending me like someone who s going to steal.
Store was dirty and not stocked completely. Also the carts were dirty and some filled with garbage.....and those were the ones on the inside. The cashier was pleasant but floor staff was rude. Go to the one on Wilbraham Rd or in Indian Orchard if you are able to.
They have some excellent prices, decent meats but a very limited produce department. A decent visit was ruined buy a very obnoxious cashier; totally stupid and too young to realize that she is stupid. I was very curt with her so she made certain to tell me that I am a very rude person and that she didnt have top take it. In hindsight it is comical, atthat time it was really annoying. Its nearly enough that I will not go back.
Under new management the store is not being restocked. There are barely any food on the shelves. The best save a lot is the new one in Springfield, your best bet is to go to that one.
The prices are really good you do save alot.
Always shop at save a lot people who work there are awesome
Im usually very diplomatic about how I say things but this place was just dirty. You smell it the moment you walk through the door. I guess thats why theyre so cheap. The service was good though, as well as the prices, just be ready for the intoxicating funk that hits you when you walk through the front door...
This store is very clean u can find everything u need casher very nice love this store
Nice place, when ur budget tight, this is it, not healthy food but will do
I was only purchasing 1 item (cool whip) and it is soooo great to finally be able to say that I didnt have to wait 30 minutes to check out. I was in & out of the store in approximately 6 minutes. Thank you Save A Lot!!!
The cashier charged me twice for a product, when I brought it to her attention her answer to me was I dont even know what that is.her name Shavonia.I pulled the product out of my bag and gave it to her..She called the manager Mike, five minutes later I am still waiting for Mike so I asked the cashier what are we waiting for I have to leave and with a nasty attitude she said without the manager I cant do anything and she paged Mike again and 30 seconds later Mike was there, after explaining to him the problem he asked if I just wanted to grab another box to what I answered no I just want a refund and I told Mike I have to go and Mike starts an argument with me in front of customers, saying mistakes happened and I told him I know but she called you five minutes back and you didnt come and when I complained again to the cashier she paged you again and thats when you show up to what he answered I was on the phone with another customer and I said to him okay I am a customer too and I am waiting here extra time for something that wasnt my fault and also told him when I first came to the store I grabbed a pack of Italian sausage that had no price and I told a guy who was doing stock in that area and his answer was ohh I dont know maybe is $8.00 and and two minutes later I found you (Mike) and told you about it and your answer was ohh ask the cashier.twice a customer needed you and you ignored it..and at the end he said to me you know what but didnt finish what he was going to say..bad customer service. Is weird how there is no corporate phone number on the receipt for customers to make a complaint
So cleaned up from before. Selection always changes. They made aisles wider and added too many quick/prepackaged stuff IS never buy.
The last time I went to save a lot I went to grab some stuff real quick because I live around the corner and I had to get the manger because they had multiple items in produce that were moldy and the canned good items were expired. Also the beef and chicken were expired too. It was really bad I dont think I will ever go back there again. I understand that they have cheap prices but they should still check all there groceries on a daily bases. I just couldnt believe that the employees didnt care enough to check the food. I think that they should reevaluate the employees. Also if they dont like there job then dont work there get another job.
Good for items that you arent picky about for flavor. Bread, milk, butter. But Jif is not sold there. The staff are friendly
You get what you pay for.Yes, it takes a while to check out. Produce is cheap so it may not always be in Stock, or it may be stuff that cant sit in your fridge for 7 days, but, you get what you pay for.Its convenient, most of their generic products are good. I havent tried them all.Time is money, so it may take a little longer to checkout there, but, thats how they give you a discount price on their products.Over all its not a 5star, but, people under rate it, and you can save some serious cash.
Awful
Lines are long, most cashier ailes are closed. The prices are low on most, thing, but selection is limited. Family Dollar next door is better
Omg is horrible to shop there, they dont have a register for a few items i went to buy 2items n behind me it was lots of ppl with few items like me but in front of me it was a woman with her cart full unto the top n the other register same crop, save a lot is always my last resort just because they have that problem n they dont care about it cuz is been like that for ever..every supermarket have a register just for 10 or less items n is a plus but save a lot forget it 😢
Always peak hours one cashier but other everything price and stock avarage
Gotta watch the prices... They dont honor prices if it print wrong even with price accuracy policy posted... Later notice the label was corrected but it took months to be fixed..
Lots of food for low prices. Customer service is very helpful. Fast service. Will go again.
Always still will be my book a wonderful in between the great family favor dont be on Hard Times the name speaks for itself
Some items are worth buying like rice, canned beans etc. Also produce is not bad. I would just go to shop for a few items.
I mean its a Save-A-Lot so youre getting what you would expect. Good deals on the Staples like milk and eggs, but if you prefer a lot of fresh ingredients or organic look elsewhere.
Usually have very little of what Im looking for so I end. Up settling for next (??best???) Thing. Only grocery store i can be timed walking in door to walking out in about 35 minutes. Most of fruits and vegetables have bugs and fliesNot my fav store by a longshot
The name describes it all. Unfortunately this is not a mart that will save you from its competitors. The money you will save comes at a bigger cost.First cost is time. The lines are one thing that is fully stocked at this supermarket because as a discount retailer they cut cost in human resources. Cashier are not available to handle influx of customers. Many people are local and low income so they stock up on food durning the time they receive their benefits at the beginning of the month. Shopping cart flow to the ceiling with frozen dinners canned goods and Hug sugar water drinks for the kids but there isnt any contingency plan for those times. For a customer like myself, that only have a few items, this can be extremely frustrating and having you wish you traveled the couple extra miles to Stop and Shop.Second cost is service. Many of the employees are good at servicing their customers but with the high turnover rate it becomes inconsistent. Yes, you will eventually end up with a cashier that will shout profanities at you because they decide to leave in the middle of ringing up the rest of their customers and you ask to find someone to finish. (True story) but you can tell when the spirit of service has been sucked out of one of these employees by the blank stare in their face and the robotic ringing of your merchandise. You know they wont been there in a couple of weeks.Third cost is quality.Sometimes those deals you get are pretty rotten; literally. Produce is not up to par, meats could be turning color and the availability of items are unavailable to when you need it.So if Save-a-lot was a knight you hire to save t the damsel, beauties will still be sleeping, girls who ate a poisoned apple will stay poisoned, and all those princesses locked in towers will die in those towers so you might want to pay a little more for your hero. The moral of the story is saving money is good but it will cost you.
Produce 90% of the time sucks but over all the store has pretty good savings.
They dont have a lot of basic items but it was fine.
Good quality good prices if you can find your size
This place alwsys have what looking for very nice people
Great for most things.... still need to hit 2 other stores to get everything on my list, welcome to having kids!
Love this place..
The workers are not professional they act like ur a burden but with out us they have no job especially male cashier act lazy an I am not the one
Great price for 2 huge pumpkins!! $2.50
Never can find a cart in the store. There is one cashier that doesnt speak to you and looks totally annoyed that she is at work. She bangs on the register and has full blown conversations with other cashiers and acts like your not there. Produce is almost always bad and never stocked.
Cleaned well stock store customer service very pleasant lines are busy on 1st of month other then that great place to go
This store offers no-name brands, minimal displays, bring your own or pay for bags and do your own bagging, all aimed at keeping prices low. Im all about groceries on a budget and the generic products I purchased were all ok quality. However, the store is a little run down and dirty.I still think ALDI, which is the same type of discount store, offers better quality products, a cleaner store, friendlier and more helpful employees, and most importantly, lower prices.Honestly, I dont think Ill go back, Ill stick to ALDI.
Very nice shop and nice employees BUT no shopping cart most the time:-(
Small enough to grab whats needed and go, Good selection, decent prices. Needs Organic choices
You got the rice on sale for $9.99 but at the register you charge $11.78! Are you doing this with everybody? I will call corporate on this!
Great Neighborhood Grocery Store this would be 5 stars if you have more than one person working the register.😠
Not a equipped with great quality products but their prices make it easy to feed a family on a budget. A hundred bucks here could feed a family of four for week with snacks and dessert every day.
Lots of good food friendly environment only thing is very little register personal.
Name brand groceries at a lower price. Its neat and clean
Good hours great service
Decent selection, but horribly understaffed, no shopping carts or baskets available tonight, and less than friendly staff.
Great store BUT Cashiers really need to stay off thier phones while on the floor.
Good place for quick shopping visits falls short from a 5 star because they make you pay for bags
Very good shop there at least 3 times a month
Poor selection, not very organized, and a bit sketchy. Prices are great but still.
Its ok to go shopping there for the fruits
Have brands I havent really heard of and when tried u didnt really like the flavor
Like the store but to be honest I love the holyoke one!!Same store same specials and what not but the holyoke one just seems to offer more...
Low prices good service clean store
Good prices and friendly customer service
You didnt have everything, the prices were a little high and the shopping carts were annoying. Not balance....and not one black worker. All that Porta Rican, need to balance that out or Im not ever coming back.
Doesnt have all the great brands, but some other brands ive never heard of.
Good food reasonable prices . Usually nice staff
Very good prices on most things but the produce is a bit wierd like flies and bugs on it, the meat is ok
