Stopped in today to check out some pianos for my daughter. I was dressed in work clothes (covered in paint, looking homeless)and if Im being honest, I expected to be ignored. Not only was the store very welcoming regardless of my unkempt appearance, but Larry spent at least 30 minutes chatting with me and explaining all of my options in great detail. I cant even put into words how helpful he was, for a non pianist like myself. I am super impressed with this store and will be going back soon to buy a piano.

Bought my Taylor there last week . I love it! They were very helpful and answered all my questions I had.

I bought a guitar on layaway. I came in twice in one day to play it. They were really annoyed of me being there. Turns out the guitar had a issue so I decided to get my money back and the manager told me to never come back. Absolutely would not recommend anyone to shop here. Just wow absolutely mind blow I was treated that way. Please stay away from this music store !!!

This is a very cool place to buy an instrument. You may only see pianos in the front window but trust me. You walk past the pianos and you will see a room for acoustic guitars. Theres a feeling of natural Zen when you just sit in the acoustic room. You can buy guitars pianos drums a violin and even saxophone or trumpet. This place is worth a visit. P.S. you can actually play the instrument you want.

Searching for music lessons outside of school day environ, the store keeps a national list of piano, guitar and violin instructors. They also repair owned items and source replacement parts.

Pretty good inventory from starter instruments to grand pianos. Laid back atmosphere.

I went in a couple days ago, looking for bass guitars; the selection of which was, unsurprisingly, limited, but what else can you expect? I walked out with an acoustic electric bass (with good strings and perfect intonation) for a fair price. The experience was pleasurable overall, and, next time Im in the market for a new instrument, this is where Ill go first.

Excellent business for buying, selling, repairing, and getting parts for guitars. I went in the other day looking to sell two guitars, fix ones output jack, and then source parts such as a whammy bar, strap screws (as in the unit thats screwed into the side that you hook a strap onto), straps, and pickup switch covers for two other guitars, and accomplished this with a bunch of great help (and a surprising amount of patience) from one of the guys working here. I got $40 for each of the entry level guitars I sold (and Id only paid $50 for one and $60 for the other used in the first place!), the guy helping me fixed the output jack by reinstalling the washer and nut onto the receding line for free, and he showed me around the store to exactly where all the parts I wanted for my other guitars were located. I couldnt ask for better service from any music store than what I received from these guys, and Ill certainly be buying all my guitars and guitar equipment from them in the future.

This is my favorite music store in Springfield. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They have a great selection of guitars, basses, effects, amps, and other miscellaneous gear. Probably the largest left handed stock as well. (still small but not bad)

Ive purchased 2 guitars at Springfields Capital City Music store. The selection is great and the service is even better! The staff is always able to answer all my questions (which is many because Im not a great guitarist) and also very helpful in finding the right guitar to fit my hand size and other needs. The supply of other need equipment and instruments is great too.

For out of towners this is the one to spend your time. The rest are fine people, but here you have the room browse (not squirm threw paths of equipment getting to what you want to look at), chat with the staff or be left alone, and competitive prices (like guitar center ).

Ive been to a lot of music stores, and let me tell ya, avoid the this at all costs. Prices are High, equipment is below average, and the customer service is a joke. If you dont mind paying top prices for sub standard gear and having to staff look down at you like you owe them something well this is the place for you . Two thumbs down

I primarily look in the guitar/bass section, but good selection of instruments and helpful staff.

I am giving two stars because Matt Waldhoff took the time to speak with us in the store. Other than that, Im not impressed. We were going to consign an expensive Clavinova with them. Upon looking at the contract emailed to us they wanted 40% of the price it sold for, which was satisfactory with us. What was not satisfactory was even thought they only charged $100 to pick-up the clavinova it appeared from the contract they wanted $100 to deliver it to the new owners. Also, they would take no responsibility for any damage that may occur to the unit while it was in their hands. As we had questions regarding that contract we contacted Matt Waldhoff two times via email, asking him to clarify certain aspects of the contract. He never responded back so I assumed they did not want our business. I ended up selling the clavinova on my own and kept the 40% they would otherwise have received. It is inexcusable to not return emails to clarify a contract and I can only assume he took offense that we had questions regarding a contract where they took the profit, but absolutely no responsibility for damage.

I hate doing this because I want to like music stores but if service is gonna be like this, everyone myswell DIY at home and heed this warning. I’ve had a few guitars setup there which is what I’m always needing done, new guitars etc, well I happen to be changing the strings on my Chapman that I had setup there and the low E saddle of the Floyd Rose came loose and the saddle screw fell out and that’s strange as you tighten them down. Well here’s what I discovered. Either dude lost the original saddle screw or he broke it somehow, but sitting in place of the original saddle screw is a too small saddle screw from a different bridge! It had been set in there and the string was tightened until it held the saddle in place! Like magic no screwing required! This guaranteed that as soon as the string tension came loose the saddle and screw would come loose every time NOT like it’s supposed to. Soooo sad service especially since luckily here at home I have many of those saddle screws laying around. It would have been better service to call me/order the correct part than to wait for me to get home figure out that I have the wrong part and have to deal with it myself. Smh.

I went in to check out their acoustic guitars. They have a great little room with their taylors and martins (high end guitars) for you to try out and play. A worker asked me if i wanted to try any and I did, but I wasnt a great player at the time. I asked him what the difference is between a high end guitar like a taylor, and a lower end guitar like a yamaha. This is a 2000$ guitar versus a 150$ guitar, and man could that guy play. I noticed the difference but I didnt want to commit to an expensive hobby just yet. He told me they have a deal on a guitar and it came with a hard case... only 150$. Knowing what I know now about guitars, for the guitar I got which was 400 bucks, thats a deal.Furthermore, there are many electric guitars anx beautiful classical and electronic pianos HIGH END ones. Stunning. Plus they offer lessons. This place has it all.Great cuztomer service, great selection, and you know youre getting good quality items and good prices from experienced musicians. Ill be back when Im ready for that 2000$ Martin.
