I love the atmosphere here! Great espresso drinks and I especially love that they use housemade oat milk. Employees are friendly and I always feel like family. Been going here consistently since 2019.
Nice trendy place on the main street. Some outdoor seating there at the time of visiting on a nice Sunday afternoon. Inside seems very modern/trendy. Nice decor. They seem to have a variety of drinks and pastries. I just decided to try a cookie as I saw they looked good on another review....my cookie...not so much. Pretty dry and overdone....I hope to return to try other things.
Their lattes, churros and guava muffins are THE best! Haven’t had a drink I didn’t like from Lorca. ♥️
I come here all the time and usually a 5 star experience. But this morning my drink order wasn’t correct and I am currently waiting for 40 minutes for 2 sandwiches. I understand they are busy, but if I knew they were backed up in the kitchen I wouldn’t have ordered food. I am now extremely late to a morning appointment. I will reconsider coming here if I have a prior engagement as I can’t rely on getting my order on time.
Went exploring with a friend & found this amazing place. We both work in coffee & shes a baker. We love checking out other spots in the state. We highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a new place to check out! Amazing coffee & friendly service! Food was also great! Overall a very fun explore day ✨☺
Best coffee shop/breakfast spot in the area. Their almond milk is amazing it tastes so fresh and unlike any other almond milk Ive had (I recommend the iced almond milk latte). Chocolate croissant and the classic and manchego breakfast sandwiches are great. Ive encountered some unfriendliness from the staff on occasion but that can be overlooked for the quality of the food/coffee.
Even after moving an hour away, I always try to get to Lorca as often as I can for their great atmosphere and wonderfully friendly staff-especially owner Leyla who makes a point to take the time out of her incredibly busy day keeping a small business running to connect with her customers.I am in love with their homemade Autumn Spice syrup and recommend everyone who visits to get it in their latte paired with a perfectly baked chocolate chip cookie. I find myself always coming up with some odd request about how much oat milk I want in my drink that day and the helpful baristas always know exactly which style of drink fits that best (Ive learned now that I really like cortados).I cherish the times I get to sit back and relax at Lorca with a good friend (or a good book) and a great cup of coffee. I highly recommend you try it sometime.
Great coffee and great churros!! Their seasonal drinks are always delicious!
One of the best cafe in Stamford. Their orange pound cake is a must try. Friendly staff with nice decor. Right in downtown. Highly recommended.
Very rude staff. Keep trying to give them a chance. Horrible every time.
Its a nice family coffee shop. Everybody is very pleasant.Prices a little on the high side
Lorca has constantly and consistently been a beacon of light in our neighborhood and community. The drinks, coffee and atmosphere are beyond comparison. I cant wait until were once again able to gather in public places and I can spend the day working in the new, beautifully expanded (during a global pandemic!) shop to soak up all the happiness this small biz brings. I highly recommend the London Fog, Autumn Spice Latte (seasonally avail) and of course their beautiful lattes.
Small cozy coffee shop in the middle of downtown. Not an exhaustive menu but ample number of options to grab a quick bite with a cup of coffee. The place is small so it can get crowded quickly. Little bit on a costly side.I tried avocado and chick pea sandwich-which were descent but nothing extraordinary IMO.
Best coffee I ever had in my life. I would live in Stamford permanently just so I can always come here. Best in the state!!
Amazing lattes. The marzipan latte was one of the best lattes I have ever had. The tea latte was excellent. The churros with Mexican chocolate were downright tasty. Fried to perfection and perfectly golden brown. The chocolate chip cookies were soft and decadent.Great service.Great food.Great lattes.
What a cute little cafe in the centre of Stamford town. Super convenient location, plenty of options to park on the street and enough seating options, both inside the cafe and outdoors. They have a great coffee selection, with interesting pour over concoctions. Eating options are somewhat limited (only sandwiches), but the avocado toast is quite nice. There are counter top cookies and freshly baked cakes as well, should you want a quick bite with your coffee.
Just went to your Stamford location and your associate who was closing today was totally rude and unhelpful. I placed an order online because your google hours are listed as closing at 7pm but your location closed at 4pm. I don’t live in town and I sometimes drive to Stamford just to get a London fog from your location because I love it so much. your associate was super rude because he “had somewhere to be and is in a rush to get out of here” and could not even assure me that I would get a courtesy call tomorrow to confirm my order will be refunded. “There’s no phone here” according to him which is quite concerning and when I asked if he had a cell phone he could call me from blocked if that was more comforting to him to confirm I’d be refunded tomorrow he continued to refuse. Really poor encounter and disappointed as I said I often drive to Stamford specifically to come to Lorca but likely will not return due to such an awful encounter.
Coffee is no good. Very fruity, sour and acidic.Comparing it to the gold standard of such coffee houses like Stumptown, la Colombe or Devotion in NYC, this place is not even close. Below average coffee.
Lorca has nice downtown vibes. Good range of coffee, breakfast and brunch. Definitely recommended if your are around Stamford downtown
Really enjoyed what we got here. The churros with Nutella were amazing! I’m biased though because I love churros. The two drinks me and my partner had were also really really good. I loved the street this shop was on, it was really nice to sit outside and was fairly active without being too crowded.I will say the barista who took our order seemed to think we were not cool enough or something because we didn’t know one drink came premade and we couldn’t substitute almond milk in. She was pretty rude. Despite that, everyone else there was great and the vibe of the spot itself more than made up for that interaction.
Its a nice place! with many options and good coffee.
Cute local coffee shop located on Bedford Street! The latte I had was divine. My only complaint is that the current location is quite small, only seating for about 16 people and there were few of outlets available. This is a nice place to go and chat with a friend over coffee but not the best for working/studying.
They have lost quality and cleanliness over time.
This place is fabulous.. killer vibe, great sandwiches (who makes their bread??!) and a very respectable coffee program. Also a big fan of their churros.
Love everything there! Easy to order online and Easy pick up. Since its on a main street parking can be an issue. But willing to walk a bit to get their yummy churros and sandwiches!!!
First review I’ve ever posted because the customer service here was horrendous. The coffee is decent but with Winfield’s close why support rude people that don’t appreciate their customers.
The unsweetened almond milk lattes taste very sour. Even tho I appreciate that they have this option but it is just not my cup of coffee. Due to COVID the seating is only allowed 45 mins. I understand that, but just over all this trip is not a 5 star experience. I am willing to give them another try later
We went for breakfast and we tried the avacado toast. I would say I have had better at otherplaces. I might not come back because there arent many vegetarian options and the lady at the counter wasnt super helpful or maybe not in the mood to talk about the menu. Whatever it was, I dont think I will get in the mood of going back here again 😋
Lorca is good, but somewhat over priced. Despite that, their coffee does offer quite of bit of flavor and uniqueness. The remodel opened up the space from the previous tiny half. While its not my first go-to due to the price, over all the staff, coffee, and food are good.
Let me start by saying how much I love Lorca. I moved to downtown Stamford in 2017, and fell in love with this awesome little place when I walked by it on my first day in town. The coffee is always top notch (tres leches iced coffee, amirite?), and the food is very good. It’s pricey, but that’s what you get for supporting a local business in the downtown area of a very expensive town. I’d rather spend $1-2 more to support Leyla and her staff than some chain coffeeshop. Service has always been a tad slow, but it’s was always delivered with a smile and friendly word. That being said - not sure what’s going on with service in the last few months. Most of, if not all, of the usual baristas seem to have turned over, and the ones remaining are not very friendly. It feels as if you are inconveniencing them by being there and ordering. I recently tried to call in an order over the phone, and was told they were too busy to take it down and to place an order online. Ok - whatever, but the way the message was delivered was pretty poor. The coffee and churros are still awesome, but any time I take away food (usually 1x per week) it’s prepared / packaged sloppily. In particular, the empanadas have gone downhill - crust is being made twice as thick as it used to be so it’s a bit gummy, and the chimmichurri is usually cold as ice. Seems like a weirdly specific thing for me to call out in a review, but I lived for the empanadas as a regular breakfast item I pick up on the way to work so 🤷🏻♀️ I’m probably not going to be doing that regularly anymore - they just haven’t been good enough to spend $9 on lately.Still giving four stars though! This place has always been awesome over the last four years, and I’ll keep returning. There might just be a new manager or team running things now that don’t do things quite to the same standard the owner does. Hopefully this changes - I’m sure it can be awesome again.
Food was good. Coffee was ok... barista seemed a bit sassy for my taste. But otherwise place was really good.
My go to coffee shop in Stamford. The espresso is really good and the latte is always the right texture. Their pastry selection is so delicious and diverse. I am always excited to come by and see whats new. The staff is lovely as well. Highly recommend.
Such a fun and cool vibe!! Love this place
Usually pretty good, but I had a recent experience where the barista guy seemed to be mad I was in there ordering coffee 15 minutes before a 4pm closing time. My dad was visiting and I was excited to bring him by here to get coffee and a muffin as soon as he got in, but they had already put the food away and were putting up chairs. Not a welcoming vibe, and I felt super uncomfortable with how cold the barista was to us. I frequent here for their yummy Alfajor lattes, and would love to have a more neighborly experience with the baristas.
Coffee was pretty good. espresso wasnt very Italian
Love the music. Food, and employees. There was even this nice lady who asked to open up my soda because it wasnt a twist-off! 10/10, and I ho there all the time.
Lorca has a great online ordering system, my food was ready right on time on a Saturday morning and I was in and out. I felt very safe going in to pickup my order. They have done an amazing job pivoting during the pandemic to continue delivering a great product and experience. Thank you to everyone at Lorca for keeping this mom caffeinated and my toddler loved her breakfast!
Great coffee, good pastries, good variety. Definitely the go-to coffee spot in the area.
Horrible service, bad quality coffee.
I have to say, I enjoyed every single bite of the food. Considering the quality, the price is reasonable. Highly recommended.
It’s real cute. Seems like cleanliness is a priority, until you look to see the muffins and croissants for sale slathered with a family of gnats. Never again.
Just had both the fall speciality coffees - the autumn spiced latte and the maple walnut latte - both fantastic! Could taste the notes of flavor without having the insanely sweet syrupy taste that youd get in your large coffee chains. They also have online ordering so you can order ahead and pick up which is especially helpful in these covid times. Have a nice outdoor patio in the back and a couple of tables out front if youd like to stay and enjoy your coffee. The staff does a fantastic job keeping both the online and in person order lines moving so that there is no crowding in the store. Great service and great coffee!
Great coffee, advocado toast, and a nice variety of pastries.
Exceptional as always!
Cute place with nice menu, but embarrassing service. They have no gluten free options on their menu so I asked for the contents of a sandwich (eggs, cheese and bacon) in a to go container. The cook came out and informed me that she “cannot do that. She HAS to press the sandwich”. If I had more energy I would have argued that I’m paying for it and that’s how I want it, but I was frankly stunned by her arrogance. They then messed up my drink order and scolded me for sitting at the very edge of a bench that had some fake cobweb Halloween decorations because they “can’t have people sitting on the decorations”. I wasn’t sitting on any decorations. This is what happens when entitled jerks try to run businesses. The food and drinks were tasty tho.
Delicious drinks. Try the chia truffle. Yummy!
As a kid, I’ve spent entire summers in Spain existing on a diet of Churros and Horchata. I am also a baker and a foodie-So we can say my churro bar is pretty high. Lorca KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK. It has been two weeks and I can’t stop thinking about them. We’re talking crunchy crispy fried goodness. I just moved to CT and this is definitely one of the places that will become a lifelong family favorite. Lorca is going to be how this Spanish girl travels to her beloved Spain until this pandemic is over. They also have a couple of little tables outside perfect for enjoying with the kids.
This place is golden, first time here and I found my new favorite spot. Theyre burgers taste out of this world good and the staff are real nice too.
Real nice place. Staff should be more loose, theyre so stiff. Smiles are free. Coffee is a happy thing.
Fantastic service, friendly atmosphere, and great about masks, social distancing, and safety! Recently had an autumn spice latte and it was absolutely delightful.
Amazing churros!
Absolutely delicious coffee and good pastries. Very pleasant atmosphere to enjoy a coffee. Good prices and nice location. Plenty of parking spaces. Friendly staff.
Fast, accurate, delicious. The only place for coffee in Stamford, the whole menu is great but the churros are a must!
The churros are fried to perfection! Lorca has a cozy atmosphere, and is perfect for a mid-day coffee break.
Cute, quaint little coffee shop in the heart of Stamford. Recommend the drip coffee! Had one every morning on our stay in Stamford. Not too much seating but lovely staff and friendly atmosphere.
Good service and food the prices are a little high for the breakfast
A tiny but beautiful cafe on Bedford street. Great place to unwind and enjoy a hot drink. The staff is amazing. The hot chocolate is really good and they have a great selection of desserts/pastries. A little cramped but that is no reason to miss visiting this wonderful cafe.
I was very excited to try the churros with dulce de leche, when I got home there was chocolate syrup instead 👎
Small but mighty breakfast stop! Delicious flat white, and a great menu for breakfast sandwiches. The pistachio pesto is tangy and bright, and killer on an egg sandwich.
Love the vibe in this place. There are a good amount of seats inside, but I feel like this place likely gets crowded quickly. Service was fast, pleasant and enjoyable. Overall this place is 5 stars besides the fact that the price point is just too high for the area. Greenwich pricing which gives this place a 4 star.
First time visiting Lorca and I will be back again ! Delicious coffee and Friendly staff. Small little shop but they are expanding! Very excited to see what the bigger space will look like!
Nice coffee shop. Staff should be mindful speaking loudly to one another while patrons are enjoying company, doing work or reading. It’s also difficult to get seat the couple times I visited. Better get it to go.
Winfield is million times better.
Small coffee shop but really good, quality coffee. I treat myself to this when I really want a good cappuccino. And despite the line that will go out the door, the service is friendly and efficient.
Great place with a lots of food choices
Tres leches iced coffee is amazing!
Small but mighty breakfast stop! Delicious flat white, and a great menu for breakfast sandwiches. The pistachio pesto is tangy and bright, and killer on an egg sandwich.
Simply the best. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, delicious coffee and amazing food in an intimate and beautiful setting. It doesn’t get better.
Great coffee, experienced staff, good food. Its the place to get coffee in downtown Stamford. However, its tiny, very often over-crowded, almost never find a place to sit, and at crowded times Ive waited more then 20 min for a latte. It really seems like theres not much they can do about that in such a tiny space.
Fantastic service, fantastic atmosphere, awesome food, and even better coffee.
Its a great service i love churros
Great little coffee shop in the heart of downtown Stamford. Really good hot chocolate which is harder to find than one might think. Its small inside so be warned. They have a couple rickety tables outside. They dont show much food on the menu board but looks like they have some good selection from a menu at the counter. The business acquaintance I went with had the avacado toast and looked decent.
Ample, flexible space. Room for everybody. Tables outside, side one top bar, regular tables and a communal table. Attention to detail. Personable. Nice atmosphere. Good food. A couple of outlets. What more is there to life?
The most modern and quality coffee shop in Stamford yet. Excellent cold brew and it appears to be available year round!
Very small place. Their menu provides a lot of breakfast options that you don’t typically find in a coffee shop. They have pastries that are so good, including churros with chocolate on the side! For coffee, I ordered the flat white and it was really good. It gets busy but the baristas are quick. Make sure you don’t stray too far or else someone might accidentally pick up your cappuccino!
