We rented bicycles from the Hostel Shoppe to do the 27 mile Green Circle Trail. Our party had nine people and all of us had attended a wedding the night before so half of our crew wasnt feeling so hot. Luckily we were able to get those that werent 100% an E-bike so everybody was happy with a 27 mile bike ride.The staff at Hostel was very helpful. They even helped us pump tires/lube chains with three bikes that we didnt rent from them. I would definitely recommend renting a bike from Hostel Shoppe if you want to tackle the Green Circle Trail while youre in Stevens Point WI. They also have the largest selection of recumbent bikes Ive ever seen!

We are thinking about motorized recombant trikes. We test drove a very nice model on the bike path adjacent to the store. Very cool!The staff is very knowledgeable and professional. Stopped by here for the first time, because I needed a new seat, and a bicycle bell. I was greeted by their male staff member, who helped measure my saddle size. I learned that my sit bone side was larger than a typical male. My stock seat for my Nishiki Pueblo mountain bike seat was too narrow, and caused pressure points on my sit bone.I bought the $60 Serfas 155 mm saddle, installed it to my bike, and wow, that made a huge difference. I no longer complain about how uncomfortable my seat is, and now I can just enjoy my ride while sitting. I would highly recommend stopping by here because of their helpfulness, expertise advice, and how genuine the male staff was toward me. I’ll have to save up to buy my future bike from there someday...but, maybe I might just buy a dirt bike instead of a mountain bike. 🤣 jk

I made a purchase last Sunday from Hostel Shoppes online store then browsed the internet for more goodies and wound up back at their site making a 2nd purchase!First thing on Monday, I get an email from Ann saying that they combined my orders, refunded a portion of the shipping because of that, AND that it was on its way to me that day!I wont waste my time shopping around anymore because I know I will be taken care of with Hostel Shoppe!

I bought a Rans Screamer from the Hostel Shoppe many years ago. I called them and wanted to buy a chain, a chain idler, a bottom bracket and chain idler pulleys. The person on the line was unable to help me with any of these items. He explained that the Hostel Shoppe has different owners and that they don’t carry Rans any longer. I see on their website that they carry chains, idler pulleys, and bottom brackets. They just didn’t want to take the effort to help. I suppose that I could figure it out myself but I just needed a little assistance which they were unwilling to give. Keep this in mind before you buy a expensive bike from them like I did.Thanks for your offer to find me the parts I need for my Rans. This is a case of oops on your part. I contacted t-cycle and they said just send photos and they could find the parts I need. They sell chain by the foot and the bottom bracket was easy to source once I got a little help(which your employees could have done easily) I would suggest additional training for your employees in asking pertinent questions about parts. All he did was ask what brand of bike I had and then shut down when he found out that it wasn’t something that you carry. When you buy a company you have an obligation to buyers that purchased bikes before you became the owner. Otherwise change the name and lose the accountability.

I had to return a bike after a few weeks due to an injury. They were very understanding and were able to accommodate my request.

Our most recent purchase from the Hostel Shoppe is an ebo electric bike assist for my wifes Ice Trike. These people know what they are doing. They configured the necessary pieces to match our requests. The system has exceeded our expectations! 20 mile ride barely starts the battery discharge.

Blessed my daughter got a bike that was donated and The Hostel Shoppe did what was needed. At the end of the day thats all that matters is she has something to help her with her exercise and legs.

I live roughly 105 miles from the Hostel Shoppe. I wouldn’t take my Catrike any place else, and there other places I could go instead. Great staff in all departments. Jon and Leon in service and Scott out front were FANTASTIC! Why would anyone want to go anywhere else! They wouldn’t and shouldn’t!

This is a well stocked bike showroom and mechanical shop with plenty of parking and knowledgeable staff. It is a stand-alone building with an expansive selection of upright and recumbent bikes. I was very pleased with the attention, personalized service, and value especially since it was a destination over 4 hours from my location. Upon arrival I realized I could have made a day of browsing and testing but that was unnecessary as Ms. Bostic made my selection easy and quick. Plus I got a phenomenal deal. I highly recommend this bike shop, the staff, and experience that accompanies it.

Breanna, the owner of Hostel Shoppe, is a super star! I live in Tucson and was shopping online because I could not find the right color for a bike my daughter is interested in getting. I wrote to Breanna and she sent back a detailed email explaining exactly how much my purchase would cost with shipping and the required re-assembly in Tucson. She even suggested checking a local bike shop and told me how much inventory they had. In the end, we bought a different color in Tucson but Breannas honesty and helpfulness had to be recognized. If you want honesty, this is the place!

One morning I was out riding my trike when I noticed one of my heel sling cables had started to fray. I pulled over into some shade and began looking at my phone for replacement options. Hostel Shoppe had the product I was looking for and I ordered a new set of heel slings. I was bummed because I believed it would be a minimum of three days to receive my replacement. I was pleasantly surprised to find the heel sling order sitting by the front door the next afternoon. I highly recommend the Hostel Shoppe as the first place to check when looking for recumbent parts.

I want to thank everyone at hostel shoppe for your amazing help in getting me set up with the perfect trike. I was a long time bike rider who had a bad spine injury in 2012. I had bars put in my spine & was told my biking days were over. Through depression & lots of cookies I learned about trikes. My first trike was a mistake for me because Im just under 52 tall. I loved riding but would get upper knee pain after about 10 miles. I gave up on it. I learned of hostel shoppe & contacted them to ask if there would be a way to solve this issue. They took a lot of time & thought to put me in a great trike with 145mm cranks, & a short boom so I could love riding. Everyone there is very professional, helpful, & nice. Im riding now with no knee pain, no struggle. Thank you Hostel Shoppe!!

Went in with my buddy to get our snowboards waxed. First of all we were quoted $18+tax which ended up being $25+tax.UPDATE: I received a call from one of the managers a couple hours after this, she refunded me the differences from what we were quoted and gave us each 1 free hot wax.

Let me start off by saying that I rarely, if ever write reviews.I am a recumbent rider from Southeastern Wisconsin. I’ve been riding recumbents almost exclusively for 10 years now. Recently, I found myself in the market to upgrade my ride, and after extensive research I decided I wanted to try a Catrike 700. Searching the local bike shops I found the only place that carried such an extreme model was the Hostel Shoppe 170 miles away. On a whim, I called them up to see if it was really in stock, and then made the 2.5 hour drive north to test drive it for myself.When I arrived, the sales staff was very courteous and knowledgeable. Before the test drive they made sure the trike was set up for my body’s dimensions, and that I was completely comfortable inside the cockpit. What happened next shocked me. They told me to take it for a spin wherever I like for as long as I like, they even suggested some local trails and routes. “Just have it back before the store closes at 8PM,” they told me.The test drive went very well despite a few minor technical issues. The mechanics were able to make the necessary adjustments, and allowed me to take the trike for a second and third test drive to ensure that everything was to my satisfaction before I finally took it home. Through it all, the sales staff and mechanics were extremely helpful and friendly. They really went the extra mile to make sure I was satisfied with my new purchase. I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a friendlier store staff during any other purchase I have made, ever.The store itself has a very wide selection of recumbents and accessories. You would be hard pressed to find such a selection anywhere else. There is a reason that the Hostel Shoppe is mentioned on so many recumbent blogs, review sites, and rider forums. I would strongly encourage you to see for yourself.One thing is for sure. If I ever find myself in the market for another recumbent or even some recumbent parts, I know where I’m going.

We heard about this place from a neighbor in Grand Marais, Mn. She highly recommended Hostel Shoppe for my challenged son. Then she sold us her old trike (originally purchased from Hostel Shoppe) and bought a new one for herself here. Its a 5 hour trip so it wasnt until two years later that we finally found our way here. I was ready to buy a new bike if needed, but Matt and Scott were very patient and offered nothing but good options for us. With their help, we tried several trikes for our son. Great selection and very knowledgeable people. In the end, they helped us tune up my sons trike and we bought some new shoes for him. It truly felt that our satisfaction, not a sale was their goal. The shop is everything it is advertized to be. If we didnt have such a great bicycle shop in Grand Marais, id buy all my bikes here. (i do believe in local shopping). I will however, come here for all our future recumbent tricycle needs. Ive been to lots of great bike shops and ive owned and repaired bikes all my life so i speak with some authority. I enthusiastically recommend this place. It is a jewel of a bike shop.
