I stopped in awhile back and it really was a good experience. The young lady working there was kind, efficient, and was really knowledgeable, even about older systems and games which I grew up playing. Great customer service and very welcoming.

I took my original N64 controllers here to have the control sticks fixed up. Lenny did an absolutely fantastic job with them, they are like new. The control sticks dont lean or sag, they play perfectly like back when I was a young lad. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

However 4 stars for not asking if we wanted to join the loyalty program as customers. Also when it was obvious we were in search of a specific old game no real help. Had to drive an hour since this is the closest retro games store near me, and I can say it was worth the drive. Plenty of games, controllers, and addons all a reasonable price. NES games were really dusty and hard to get working, and game selection for cartridge based consoles seems a little short, but to be fair its hard to find older games, especially in a pandemic.They also offer a range of series on DVD and decorations. I would highly recommend.

Used to be a great store but not anymore. Their trade-in prices are insulting, you have a 25% bonus deal going and still only paying 30% of what you sell it for. Now they are also selling bootleg games, just because you put reproduction on it doesnt make it ok and is still illegal to sell. The store has fallen so far I dont even want to go there anymore.

Gaming generations has been around since I was a youngin. Not only have they always been super helpful but they really take passion into video games just like me. Ive had numerous console issues and Gaming generations has always been there for me. From Jake when I was super young. Now my man Lenny is running the show on repairs. They have what you need for older models of gaming systems BUT it would be helpful if the people working there actually knew what they were talking about. I came in for an xbox 360 slim power brick and the guy wasnt sure if the box was correct, had to look up images and hope it was gonna work.

When I went there I was helped by a very kind and receptive employee named laura who helped me with my controller issues and went above and beyond in her service.

Always a positive experience going in. Great values for trades and an amazing selection of games. Fantastic service as well, honest and down to earth.

Love the store, however I dont think that some of the trade in values are worth it... took in 3 games I got for Christmas never opened, still in original cellophane... one was a 50$ game and 2 were 20$ games.... only got 20$ for the 3 of them.... knew I wouldnt get what was paid for them but expected more than $20 for $90 worth of factory sealed games

Very friendly staff and really clean and well upkept.

Staff are great. Sad that its the closest place that does NES repair (its a half hour+ drive for me), but they do it in-house, so turnaround is fantastic. The Subway nearby is great, too!

Just went to this location and denied entry because of no mask... I can go to wal mart or best buy w/o a mask but not there... regardless of my reasons (medical). I have spent thousands of dollars there over 15+ yrs and they lost a life time customer over a mask...

Lots of choices on almost every console, with common stuff and plenty of rarer finds. I love that they lump all the sports games into one clump out of the way. Its a small store, but organized neatly, and not picked over. The games are almost all used, but theyre in good condition, and they have some newer ones as well. They also sell some movies and collectibles.Its also refreshing to walk into a video game store that isnt decked out in eye-bleeding neon, and to not be accosted by someone required to get you to buy a membership, pre-order, pay extra for insurance on your game, and have to listen to blaring advertisements set to a very high volume.You can just come here and buy your game. And thats all you need. Its great.

This establishment is nice. Super handy staff, and a good selection of oldie goldy gaming goodness, and new stuff That said, I wish the inventory would be changed up more. Prices are decent, people are nice, and its a fun place to visit. Cant complain too much.

I have been visiting this place a lot in the last couple months, they have good prices for old games and amazing prices on used consoles. And they sell consoles as old as the NES!My personal pet peeve is some of the used games being sold are around the price of the used consoles, which isnt that big of a deal anyway.

I am a longtime gamer.. but sadly sold most of my old systems when I went to college. Now I have been slowly rebuilding my collection at a really great price. It seems like every time I go there either myself of my son finds something awesome.Once I bought a dreamcast with a dead controller port and immediately came back, I was given an immediate refund and a ton of apologies. This incident actually made me an even more die hard customer because I got no BS and no runaround.If I have a question they are knowledgeable and dont BS even if it means a potential lost sale at the time.Every time I bring my son with my the guy behind the counter(I think the manager/owner) is super friendly. He always makes an effort to actually converse with him(which can be tough with a 5 year old who like to mumble).Prices are fantastic, always something new, I love this place.Seriously couldnt ask for more.

Good place but with one drawback, one employee who I will not name just makes me mad. I recently got an N64 there but when I was getting the one off the shelf, he told me he had one in the back and he sold me the one in the back without looking at the controller, and showing me the decently sized chip on the front left side of the console. I then was on my way home when I saw that one of the c buttons was stuck in and would not go back up and I noticed the chip on the N64 console itself. I had to drive all the way back there and when I did, I was able to get the N64 off the shelf from a very nice employee. He let me try out all the N64 controllers and pick one that I wanted. (Except the transparent ones because they are more rare.) And, the funny thing is the N64 with the chip on the front is only 5 dollars cheaper than one that was in excellent condition. So thats what made me mad and if you ever go there, look at your console your getting and the controller better because if you dont, the same thing could happen to you.

Its a really awesome place, though to throw caution out there if you intend to sell consoles be sure to wipe them, I had just picked up a handheld with someones games and credit card info on. It couldve been just an oversight, but just be safe. Other than that, they are like I said, awesome.

The staff are extremely kind (if not a bit sarcastic), the selection of games is only rivaled by online shopping, and the place smells of delicious sandwiches, due to being next to the Subway. The only downside is the music, but thats more of an opinion than anything. :P

Honestly the best gaming store I have visited. I am 16 and I love all of the older games in there and there is so many games in stock. I am a speedrunner and there is so many new consoles and parts that are at affordable prices.

Very Chill environment, theirs a worker there named Lenny who knows games backwards who can help you out, highly recommend going when he is working there.

Took my ps4 in to be fixed, it took them twice as long as they said it would. Then they proceeded to return it to me in unworking condition, and lost my save data. I would have been better off if I never took my console to them at all. Their incompetency is only eclipsed by there apathy towards customers. More of a amateur gamers club then a professional business.

I have been here so much, my parents limit the amount of times I visit per month. I am a huge fan of older games, such as the NES and Super NES. I have bought about 15 games from this place and most of them were around five bucks.The games are cheap, but work great, very friendly atmosphere, and I cant wait to visit again!

Ive been going to Gaming gen since I began college at UWSP a few years ago. I have always had a good experience while there. They have old generation consoles as well as the newest ones. Tons of games to choose from and are very negotiable, kind people. They have lots of good dvds and blurays which are reasonably priced.If you have issues with scratched cds of any kind (games, music, movies) you can bring them in and they will fix them for you.

There are numbers of things I love about gaming generations stevens point.The staff is always nice, helpful, dressed well and not covered in tattoos and piercings like the other game store in town.Not that its a deal breaker, but given the choice, I prefer buying from someone thats well groomed and doesnt look like live in their mothers basement, or recently got out of Folsom prison.The staff arent robots, Jake and Spencer are flexible. There is some slight wiggle room when it comes to trade in value of products. If I bring in a barely used iPhone, or a nearly new 3DS, with the hopes of buying a particular game or product, the staff will work with you instead of looking at sheet handed by corporate and telling me X ammount is all I can get for said item. They will make a substancial profit either way (its a business and their job to make a profit i understand that), but will do their best to help you get the item you want.Prices are always better, and If I buy a brand new game, finish it within a week or two bring it back, I know Ill get the most value back for it.Theres nothing more disheartening than buying a brand new game, finding out its not your thing and then bringing it to GameStop only having some mouthbreather tell you that the game you paid $70 is only worth $15. I mean, its like an episode of pawnstars every time I walk in there!I bought a used PS3 from gaming generations once, and it didnt read certain games. I called them up and bam! Got a new, used ps3.
