Garage door wouldnt close and very noisy. Called and spoke to Don. He tried diagnosing the issue first, but then decided it was best to sent out a tech. They arrived at my home in Evansville within an hour and fixed it. Great service.

Easy going, pretty well stocked. Some of the guys are friendlier than others, but theyre all competent.

They are Not that nice to work with. Lack of communication is also a factor. If you want to sell products you should act like you want to especially if you have been a customer for many years. It has been very frustrating and we probably have no reason to continue doing much there which is a disappointment. We started doing business there 45 years ago when we built our house and it is a shame how some things have changed. All in all they are probably good but in our particular case they were not.

I ordered a plastic pool online and called the store to see if it was ready to pick up. I spoke with a sales associate, Natalie. She was very courteous, helpful and answered all of my questions.When I went to pick up the pool it was outside and ready. (She even washed it out!) Natalie came outside and asked if I needed help loading.I also purchased some play sand and asked her where I should pick it up. She directed me to the location, met me there, and helped me load the sand into my car. She was very polite and friendly - even made small talk with my kids. I was super impressed with this young lady and her going above and beyond at her job - makes me want to shop at this location again!!

I would like to say that my parents owned a small business in a small town, my brother owned a hardware store - I have worked in the service industry for many years, both in retail and fine dining. I like to think because of my upbringing that I support small businesses. Stoughton is a small town with two hardware stores, a farm supply store and a newer Walmart. I have frequented this hardware store for more than ten years. The store has a great staff - helpful - service oriented - good selection or items. I have noticed a recent trend with retail workers both here and in many other places that bothers me quite a bit. The past several times I have been here, members of the staff return my change from a transaction, hand me a receipt, and either say have a nice day or here you go. I have always been instructed to say thank you or thank you for your purchase As a customer, I have many choices, and my money is hard earned. I choose where to spend my money. I think that it is polite to say thank you. I guess I want to spend my money where a business values me as a customer - and they are grateful for my business - especially in a small town competitive market. In this ever changing market, will my weekly purchases make a difference and keep this business open? Who knows... I do know that I like to shop where I am appreciated as a customer. Thank you is a simple way to show this appreciation...

I usually go to Menards but I think I might make this place my go-to. Prices are good, staff are friendly, its not crowdedness, and there were even dogs to pet. They were able to cut me a new glass panel for my window while I waited.

Called and asked how long it takes to sharpen a blade and they said 24 hours. I drove 20 minutes to get there instead of going to the hardware store down the street for this one reason. I get there to drop off my blade and they said it wont be ready until next week. Inconsistent messaging from their staff, how can they be trusted?

New to Stoughton and new to homeownership I have frequented this location over a dozen times since December of 2012. Always friendly staff, extremely helpful, and very well stocked for your home needs.I want to touch on a few situations that were noteworthy:First, after a very heavy snowstorm that shut down most of Madison I called ace to see if they were open and had snow blowers, the guy in the power equipment department was extremely friendly n the phone and said come on down. I did, and they spent some time going through the different brands and models with me. I ended up purchasing and the price was well within other hardware store prices. With not knowing much about snow blowers, it was welcome help!Second, I wanted to build a DVD rack and the guy at the contractor desk helped figure out what wood would work best and told me exactly how much I would need, it was nice to buy exactly the right amount with very little scrap.Third situation is another nod to the power equipment guys. They recently helped me choose a good size mower for my lawn and didnt try to upsell. And again, the price was reasonable and saved me a trip to Madison.Love this store and love the reward program. Nice to have a decent hardware store close to home!

Needed a key for my Craftsman lawn tractor, they knew right away what I was looking for!

Bought a craftsman tool set from here and when the ratchet broke they don’t even replace it. now I have to drive all the way to Sears in Madison to get a replacement ratchet because they don’t stock the ratchet that came in my set I bought. Who doesn’t stock the standard 3/8 inch ratchet.
