I called Larry on Sunday, despite him being closed. He was kind enough to set up an appointment for me the Monday. He was waiting for me and was thorough and methodical in helping me. Larry also has a wealth of knowledge and I picked his brain for every question I could think of. I highly recommend and would go back if I ever have an issue.

Larry did an outstanding job on my 1950s Winchester Model 12 shotgun. The finish on the barrel and receiver is near factory shine, the barrel cut is even, the bead on the end looks great, it was inexpensive and all done in three days! All of that coupled with very friendly service and I cannot recommend Precision Gunsmiths enough and I wouldnt take my business elsewhere.

Larry really took his time to diagnose my issue and bailed me out of having to buy a brand new bolt assembly. He was careful not to damage my part, even cosmetically, and did not give up on the issue til he had fixed it, all while I waited. Fair price for great work. Great quality gun smith! Definitely a bang for your buck. Went to get some sights installed for a 9mm hand gun and Larry made the entire journey quick and painless. He can do basically anything you need for your guns. Definitely will be coming back in the future for more work done.

I had Larry work on multiple guns over a couple months with a focus on 1911s. After him doing work on eight or nine different pieces I realized that some of the stuff he was telling me regarding gun laws, and licensing was incorrect when I would go pull up the Texas state laws only to see that he was completely off. That could be an honest mistake, but he should be better informed before telling the public things that they will count on. Especially since he is a licensed FAL.The last time I brought him three 1911s to do some work on and add some new parts. I picked them up and a couple of them didn’t seem like they were installed properly so I mentioned them to him. He said they would be just fine with some attitude. I took them to the range the next day and they had multiple misfires, failures to feed, and even a failure to eject. I instantly shot him a couple messages while at the range but didn’t hear back. Over the next couple days I called him a few times and left him voicemails, but never heard back from him again until I posted this review about 60 days later. His only response was here on Google reviews. It would seem that he only cares about helping once someone is telling others about his lackluster performance. The guy is friendly overall, but maybe he shouldn’t be in this business anymore if his hearts not it.
