Awesome eye care physician’s, I called yesterday for a first time appointment for my son and they took us right in the next day. The clerks upfront was very nice and professional, as well as the doctor; he was very patient and concerned; the greatest and would recommend anyone to go here, great team and a lot of selections for glasses ❤️❤️❤️

I always come to Jackson Davenport for my assessments! I called and scheduled a visit and was a month out but got on the cancelation list and was in 3 days later! The staff is great, friendly and helpful. Can’t complain about the prices either! (Thanks insurance 🤣)

No waiting, they took me right on time. Eye exam was thorough and everything was clearly explained. Eyeglass selection was excellent!

Had a great experience at Jackson Davenport vision in Summerville. I’ve been struggling with blurry / vision issues for awhile. They were able to quickly give me an exam & recommend a lens prescription. They have so many glasses to choose from. The receptionist helping at the front even helped offer her opinion on what would look best on me. Highly recommend Jackson Davenport for eye exam, glasses ect.

Everyone is smiling and engaging. You never feel rushed and it doesnt “feel” busy but i know they are completely booked. I think they Must schedule adequate time for each person to maintain that less hurried atmosphere. As a nurse, I can testify that other areas of healthcare do not provide this unhurried, patient-centered care. What a shame!My husband and I have been patients since we moved to the low country and we will happily continue !

Ive been going to Jackson Davenport for 3 years now and couldnt imagine going anywhere else. From the front office staff down to Dr. Holstead, everyone Ive encountered has been polite, respectful, and knowledgeable. I had an eye emergency a week or so ago and they were able to accommodate me that day. Hands down the best in the low country!

My experience wasn’t as good as some of the other reviews. I explained at my first visit that I’d been having a lot of dryness and burning in my eyes. I have been for quite some time now. It has nothing to do with glasses. I have tried (while wearing reading glasses) all types of over the counter drops but nothing seemed to work. I have asked this doctor for a prescription eye drop to help with it and he has refused to. I keep getting the third degree rather than his help. Mind you.. when I mentioned that I’d been wearing reading glasses, he told me it was okay to wear. I ordered some frames a few days ago and had plans to have JD add the prescription to them but I have changed my mind. What doctor is opposed to helping his/her patient feel better? My first visit and my last. It is just eye drops and yet he refused.

The staff and doctors are top notch. Everyone is very helpful.

Could not recommend this facility enough. The receptionists were so friendly, helpful, and polite. Dr. Christopher Holstead is extremely knowledgeable and helped me with problems I’ve been having for so long in one session. He went through lengths to make me feel comfortable but also made me laugh on a truly difficult day. The whole staff was friendly and I see better than ever (cliche but true ). GREAT experience!

The staff were outstanding answered all our questions. Didnt push unnecessary upgrades to the glasses. Explained our insurance options and policies. The eye exam was the most time I have ever spent speaking with the doctor. He really took the time to understand what issues I was having and explained how they would correct it. I will go back and my wife is going next week.

Saturday I broke my glasses and had NO contacts. Basically, I had nothing to see with. I went to several places and no one would help me, just blew me off.Not only did they fix me up to get me through the weekend, they squeezed me in today for an exam. The Doc is hilarious and made me feel at ease!! Great atmosphere. Also, we all know glass can be crazy expensive. Jackson Davenport has great prices.Love them!! I will never use anyone else.

Jackson Davenport Vision is the best! I have been wearing glasses for over 50yrs and I have to say Dr. Holstead has been the most thorough Dr. I have been too. Highly pleased with this company and recommend them to all who are looking for eye exams and glasses.

I am from out of state and called this place to see if I could come in after I got an eye scratch. They fit me in the day of and we’re so helpful! Everyone was very pleasant and Dr. Holstead was extremely patient and thorough. He went above and beyond to accommodate me even though I was not a patient of his. Thank you so much!

So I went to pick up my contacts that I ordered on 01/25/2020 which is a Saturday. Hours are 9am to 1pm on Saturday as it is posted at door of building and on the internet. I got there at 8 minutes to 1 and the doors were locked. I don’t know exactly when they locked the doors to not allow anymore customers to come in but it you say your are open til 1pm then you don’t lock customers out before 1pm. It took me 20 minutes to get there and to not be able to pick up my contacts which would have taken all of 5 minutes to cash me out and go and instead I have to drive back home empty handed and not happy. Time and gas wasted because they locked the door before 1pm. I was not the only customer that got turned away that day. Workers were still in the store helping customers just not letting anyone else in. False advertising is not good for business.

Dr was very educated and helped me with all of my questions. Great prices for exams. Very helpful in finding the right frames and lenses for me with plenty of explanation of the differences in the options I had to choose from. Receptionists were both very sweet and very helpful.

My experience was pleasant. The doctor took his time and explained everything he was doing. I even have the option to have my prescriptions adjusted if I find them uncomfortable. Ill definitely go back and I highly recommend this eye doctor to everyone!

Was able to get an appointment within a few days. Dr is always thorough and takes as much time as needed to exam and explain. The lady who helps with the glasses is very nice and does an excellent job. The office ladies are very kind, professional and quick to check you out.

I had a wonderful experience ! Went for an eye exam during my lunch break. Entered building @ 12:54pm, left at 1:39pm with contacts and frams picked out. Very honest and upfront with prices. I will go see them again in a week to go over new contract with Doctor and order some sexy new glasses.

I have a very tight schedule and they were able to see me without setting appointment at last minute to take care of my needs. Well taken care of and Highly recommended

The girls at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. Eager to help in any way. Doc is very thorough and will do all to help you see your best. I needed my contacts in a week so he had the girls phone my prescription in right away.

They do not really do a comprehensive medical type of eye exam. They can only check basics like checking your eyes to get you glasses and lenses. I have had a preemptive retinal surgery before and since then, I have met 3 different eye doctors until here and they all always wanted to do a further check just on my retina every 2 year because of the surgery. The Jackson Davenport eye doctor is the first one I met who told me he will not check my retina unless I wanted him to even though I informed him it has been 2 years since my last eye exam. It is not like the additional check will cost me more. I did not ask him to check it because I could not trust him. At the end of the exam, he told me my eyes are healthy as far as he could tell. I will not go back again. I will go to the Ocean Eye to get it checked because I know they will capture an image of my retina for analysis and feedback.

Very pleased with my exam and purchase of glasses. The Dr. Took plenty of time talking with me about my eyes and getting to know me and what l do. He was very attentive to all my questions also. The staff was very good helping me with the purchase of my glasses.

This place is the bomb for all things vision-y. I was helped as soon as I got a few steps inside and everyone was very friendly. My eye exam was...dare I say fun? The staff really helped me and my eyes out and so I’m super thankful. And...wait for it...I was able to get accurate prescription lenses put into the frames I walked in wearing in less than 20 minutes! Not to mention my frames fit me better now than they did before! Finally found our eye doctor! I have had to wear glasses since I was a kid and when we moved I was on the search for a new doctor. After trying a couple new ones (one that wasnt bad but just too far away now and another that, lets just say it did not work out) I finally found someone I am comfortable and confident with. Excellent eye exam and did not try to pressure to get new glasses / contacts but encouraged me to try out the new contacts first and make sure everything was working well and then do glasses (if I wanted to). Everyone was super nice and I left feeling that not only my business mattered but I mattered. I would HIGHLY suggest them. The best experience I have had with an eye doctor since I have relocated.

I was going out to dinner on Saturday night and the arm on my glasses came off. After 1 hour of trying to fix it, I went to Jackson Davenport in Summerville. They were not open, but doing renovations. I stopped and a gentleman at the rear door offered to help. My apologies, I dont remember his name. He fixed my arm on my glasses and it was no charge. It is rare to find a caring and helpful business person in todays world. I will definitely be going too Jackson Davenport for my next pair of glasses. You saved my evening! Thank you so much!

I moved to Summerville a year and a half ago and I have been to optometrists for many years. It is hard to find a new OD and feel trusting. Well, Dr. Holstead is the most thorough, patient, and professional Dr. I have ever been to in my 73 years. I recently had cataract and LASIK surgery and they helped alot but I still have issues needing glasses with a prism for reading. Dr. Holstead has agreed to correct my prescription more than once, at no cost, after painstakingly evaluating and reevaluating the original script. He is a great Dr. and I think genuine in his care and treatment of his patients, who I cannot recommend more highly!

Truly and honestly a great experience. I took my 4 year old son because his school referred him for glasses. I had previously been taking my 10 year old daughter to the walmart vision center and dreaded going there. I am so glad i decided to go to Jackson Davenport this time. We got seen at exactly our appointment time. Paperwork didnt take long to complete which i loved. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. The optometrist was very patient with my son and even my fiance and I. I would for sure recommend them to anyone.

Ive been in this establishment two times since Ive moved back to Summerville and each time the staff took wonderful care of me. I even offered to pay for the minor repair made to my glasses and they refused. I cant say enough about the prompt and pleasant service here.
