I sure miss living close to the Metropolitan Market. Everything is top notch, and cannot find better quality from the bakery to the deli to the fresh flower bouquets. I make special trips here for their birthday cakes, amazing in house baked warm cookies, fresh packed salads ect..If you havent tried their tomato basil soup, I highly recommend grabbing some along with a fresh baked sourdough loaf to go with it. Thank me later 😋Hands down 5 stars!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Metropolitan Market is great for groceries but since its pretty far from home, for our family its a special weekend destination for picking up treats - that means french bread, an incredible cheese selection, delicious soups, amazing cookies and GELATO! yeah, we love it. Its a little bit of the best of Seattle in Tacoma.

I live in the area, but dont shop here too often. I find it difficult to locate some items and walking in your immediately in the deli. If its anywhere near lunch or dinner, good luck navigating your way through the hoards of folks getting food or stealing an olive or two.Of course, one of the reasons they are all there is because the food is fantastic as are the selections throughout the store. Plenty of good options for wine and beer, lots of healthy choices throughout the aisles, and the folks who work here are kind and helpful!

Their florists are amazing. They always wrap my bouquets very beautifully. They take their time to make sure they look good. They are always kind and polite and help me pick out flowers when I need help.

Great market place with just about everything. Very comparable to whole foods quality and variety with slightly lower prices. Top notch produce and amazing food court area, fresh baked goods, more cheese than you will know what to do with and other really great food. Be prepared to take it slow, this place is usually packed and limited parking at the store, but there is more parking within walking distance.

Omg! So it’s Christmas Eve and my husband sent me out at 8am to get turkey for our Christmas meal right...but me instead I got caught up in shopping. I get to the store about 5:15pm and the deli closed at 4pm for Christmas Eve! In a panic I tell one of the associates there that I needed the turkey not to disappoint my husband. She walked the store with me until I was able to find other options. This place is so clean, have great food choices and amazing l and caring associates!

A local, less pretentious version of Whole Foods. With a solid mix of organic and regular food, Metro Market is where you go to find those obscure ingredients that push your recipes over the top. I was running errands in Tacoma the other day and suddenly realized I hadnt eaten anything all day. Although I was tempted to get a burger and fries, I decided to choose something healthy. Since I was near the Metropolitan Market, I remembered they had an amazing salad bar, and also a place for customers to eat. The whole store is a feast for the eyes!My husband and daughter are photographers and would love to take pictures of the produce and flowers in this store--gorgeous!There is a poke bar, along with the salad bar. I had a nice conversation with a woman who was choosing from the poke bar; she recommended some items for me, since Ive never eaten poke. One piece of advice she gave me, Ill pass on--Make your own rice at home for $15.99 a pound.Instead, I choose to get a salad. There was a lot to choose from and I got a great meal for under $8.00. After you check out, you can go through the double doors to the eating area. There is water and cups gratis for customers.

This place is amazing! The prime rib sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had! There are so many selections to choose from and it’s all fresh and high quality! My wife and I love this place!

I have been here three times now. Each time I go in I leave with some sort of issue: once my watermelon was mushy and gross once I cut it open, another time my hummus was not packed correctly so it exploded in my bag, another time I got home with $22 of cupcakes which at the Metropolitan market means I got eight cupcakes and they were stale, dry like they’ve been frozen and defrosted.Extremely pretentious store! The only friendly worker I have met the times I have gone in there is the guy that was working at the cheese market. Other times it seems as though everything I do is pissing them off! Their deli is amazing and their side dishes are out of this world is so I guess you put up with what you have to put up with and pay what you have to pay. I have to say though when it comes to making a choice of going there or hitting the local Safeway I will generally choose Safeway to avoid the drama

Very unfriendly service at the coffee place you need to train them to be like Olympia coffee baristas they are always so kind and friendly and by the way when you say you close at 8pm you close at 8pm not before as much as I spend at your store I should have friendly service everywhere inside.

Any item you buy here is the highest quality and fresh. The warm chocolate chip cookies are a must and I get one or two every time I am at the market. Everyone of the staff; bakery, deli, coffee and checkout is always professional and courteous. Well worth going a bit out of my way to shop here!

If you want to experience a foodgasm, Id recommend trying their chocolate cream pie!!! Magnifique!! Well, honestly all the food and desserts Ive tried was delicious. From amazing sushi to cold pasta. Its like a refined Trader Joes, you wont be disappointed; though, your pockets might. But trust me, its worth the extra splurge!

Great store. It has way more to offer at their Delia then whole foods. The quality of the food is that of a 5 star restaurant . Sure the prices are high but it worth the quality you are getting. it no more higher then whole foods . Also you can get a high end meal here at the food counter for $10-12 what would be $ 40 to $50 dollar at a high end restaurant. They have everything you want. I wont dock a star but they do need to get their Braggs apple cinder vinegar drink back.

Such a beautiful grocery store! Flowers are kept near the entrance making it look really pretty. A florist is located in a separate room to the right of the main door pick flowers and the florist will wrap them for you, or buy a bouquet that has already been made. As soon as you enter the main store you will be hit by the smell of fresh cookies. These chocolate chip cookies are constantly being made so you can always get one fresh out of the oven.....be warned! The deli has great food to take home either in their case to heat up for you or in their refrigerator. Need cheese? This is the place to find it. Produce is always great and they have an amazing wine selection. Need a gift or a kitchen item? You can find them on shelves located near the wine. If you cant wait to eat all the food you just bought, there is heated and covered seating right outside. High chairs and microwave are available to use.

Working with Metropolitan Market was so easy! I only wanted a couple of bouquets and boutonnieres; I was never pressured to add more or do anything differently. Every piece was beautiful and exactly what I was hoping for. I didn’t even show them pictures; it’s like they were in my head! As if beautiful flowers on my wedding day were not enough, my bridal bouquet was beautiful in a vase for two weeks! I would absolutely work with Metropolitan Market again.

This place is awesome! People think that it is expensive and if your comparing it to Grocery Outlet it be s definitely expensive. I think that the prices here are higher than your average grocery store but I don’t think it’s outrageous! I think the quality of product is up there with Whole Foods.The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. If you walk through the produce department and ask about their selection you will get a legitimate answer to your question. And that goes for the each department.Their deli is great with almost everything you could want. Most of it if not all is prepared fresh daily.We often come here on rainy Saturday mornings with our daughter. Great for a cup of espresso, “The Cookie,” and breakfast bar and sitting in the heated seating area just watching the rain fall!They have a bakery... we got our wedding cake from here... it was super simpleLove this place!

I loved this market! It reminded me of the local markets in Germany. They have fabulous selections in every department and staff waiting to serve. True boutique grocer without the attitude! They provide hard to find items of excellent quality. Bakery is worth the trip. In a family of picky eaters, weve moved all purchases of birthday and now wedding cakes to this store, they are consistently excellent. Produce is immaculate, deli section and warm foods section are wonderful. Caribbean Roast Pork is a must try! Catering is available, great Holiday fair - their stuffing as good as my own (and I am picky about stuffing). Great gifts, specialty food items, microbrew selection, the meats are beautiful. You will may pay slightly more on some products, but youll quickly realize that these arent your normal store brands the quality exceeds expectations, and it is well worth the money and a special trip. You wont ever have an issue paying slightly more as the quality is there to back it up! The Manager is exceptionally responsive, helpful and willing to put the health of the store and your experience first. A new crop of staff are helpful, kind, willing to assist any and everyone; they are truly willing to make your shopping experience special and a bit on the decadent side youd expect from a boutique grocer.Business seems to have increased substantially, which is no easy thing as there is a grocery store across the street.

Variety for someone that loves cooking excellent!! You should be ready to Shell out $40 for a single pickle and a parsley sprig. Not so excellent. Great place to go if u want to be surrounded by a bunch of prudes that run into you cause they cant disengage from their cell phones.

This place is GREAT!! Cheaper then whole foods with a far better selection. Tons of prepared food to choose from if your like me and dont have time to cook. Employees are always knowledgeable and welcoming and the best part is...they have prime rib nightly!

Everything here is great! The only complaint is an older lady working in the area you get fries and pasta prepared. She has an attitude every time we go in. We dont order from that area when shes there. We would rather not have our visit ruined by her mood and rudeness.

First I will say I have always loved loved loved Metropolitan market.. I used to live by the one in federal way but they closed years ago... Now I move to Tacoma and lucky me I have one very close! Technically they are a high end grocery store, I am more grocery outlet budget, but when I can splurge I go here... it is a magical place.. Roxanne the cashier talked to us.. and remembered our names! Thats awesome!

I love this store: specialty items, gourmet food, amazing cheese selection, poke bar, bakery. Its a great place to pick up a quick gift too. They have great flowers, cards, and gift items. Theres just so much there, and the staff is so quick and helpful.

I think Metropolitan is one of the nicest supermarket chains around. It is a visual delight. It has incredible departments: deli, bakery, cheese, the list goes on. The have huge selections of just about anything you can imagine. If youve never been to Metropolitan, you should definitely go.

A delight to find this boutique supermarket in our new home neighborhood. Had coffee and cinnamon rolls. Both of them are first class. Coffee has body, no acidity. The rolls is excellent. Wish the sitting area is more comfortable. Currently it feels like in a shack.

We love this place! Dont expect the leave spending less than $100 though. It is definitely an upscale grocery. They have every cheese you could ever want. Their prepared food selection is amazing and never disappoints! A good wine selection and even some housewares are available.

The deli is amazing. I love the selection of cured meats from salumi. They have ridiculously good smoked mussels. Staff is super friendly.

Needed a bunch of cookies for an event. Britt was super helpful in taking my order. Told her about the event the cookies were for. When I went to pick them up, they were decorated so cute (Id ordered plain). No extra charge. They were a hit. Made sure to tell everyone where Id gotten them. Thanks, Britt!

Prices a bit higher on some common items. But then this is a specialty store and they do very well with their specialties of cheese and fresh organic vegetables. The Twin Brooks milk that they carry is very, very good and I love seeing the cream on the top. Reminds me of being back on the ranch where I grew up and we drinking fresh milk as opposed to all this over pasteurized stuff. I also go over for their sauerkraut which upon eating doesnt fill you full of sodium and the cabbage actually goes crisp in your mouth.

You have to get the eggnog, which they sell in a glass bottle that can be returned for a deposits refund. They have a great lunch selection for people that work around there. A huge salad bar, olive bar. And a huge hot food area. My favorite though is The Cookie.$2.99 for a humongous cookie that is so chocolaty and gooey. Its really a favorite in my house.

I love Metro. There used to be a Federal Way location and my husband and I would go there almost every night, we miss it a lot. This location does not disappoint. Incredible staff, amazing fresh options.

Pricey Deliciousness. If you can afford this market, it is mega tasty stuff. The prepared foods are amazing and they have a huge selection of stuff- even a make-your-own poke bowl bar. The cafe is fantastic, the produce is crisp and flavorful- everything is so so good and its a nice once-in-a-while treat for my husband and I to get sandwiches and coffee here. They have enclosed outdoor seating with heat lamps in the cold months, and more outside tables in the warm months. Beautiful flowers too.

Oh man so this is a great store to go to. But the food market youll have to. Try their prime rib meal and their French fries. You cannot go wrong.

Fantastic customer service. A huge selection of everything. There floral department is amazing. I ordered a single rose for my daughter for her student of the month. They matched beautiful tiny flowers to it (like babies breath) and made a perfect bouquet for me on the spot. Not only that, the cost was under $7 will always go there for flowers for sure.

Love this market. Great deli section. Great prepared foods. Good place to stop by and grab a lunch on the go. People might think prices are higher like at whole (pay check) foods. Theyre not. Prices are very competitive with the Safeway across the street. Most produce was actually less. And they have a better quality selection and harder to find produce items.

Everything was pristine in this store, I was shocked with the level of quality, especially the produce, sushi, meat and cheese booths. This store is immaculate with friendly staff and a creative selection of every need.
