AMAZING coffee shop. Black owned business, and when I say they take good care of you? They take GOOD CARE!! Nice rustic ambience and really comfortably spaced for people to get their work done and to vibe and enjoy their cold and warm beverage offerings and bakery delights, either inside or outside. 100% recommended from me.
This is a nice cozy coffee shop. The sandwiches are good and the coffee even better. I like that there is an outside seating area. The bathrooms are clean and the customer service is very good. I have not seen that many black people frequent this black owned business. But maybe theres not enough of us that know about this cool spot. Either way the other patrons seem nice enough. FYI the bagel was toasted a lil too much for me, but good none the less
Everything about this coffee shop is beautiful- friendly and welcoming service, gorgeous ambiance, delicious coffee and its a Black owned coffee shop. I met the owner today and he was such a fun and friendly person! He spent time talking to me about Campfire coffees roasting process and spoke about the heart, time, and feeling he puts into his coffee beans. Um, I want love coffee! I want all that heart, soul, and knowledge poured into all my lattes and drip coffee. What a blessing to indulge in delicious campfire coffee, roasted with love, time, and attention. All the while, this coffee and the coffee shops roots are grounded in the love of the outdoors.
Fun coffee spot near UW Tacoma. Atmosphere is woodsy with creative camp decor. A variety of drinks, snacks, light meal choices. Has a unique smooth smoky flavor to the coffee. Friendly staff.
I really wanted to like Campfire Coffee. It’s almost a great cafe. Despite the laidback campy-trendy atmosphere and the decent coffee, the campfire coffee company lacks efficiency and organization. The staff seemed unable to cope with the large, but not unreasonably sized crowd a Saturday morning brings. Parts of orders were forgotten (not just for us) and there was no clear way to see who the upcoming order belonged to (we accidentally snatched a latte from a couple with a similar order). If the management is reading this, I suggest assigning a name or number to each order to keep it organized.I think I’d come back again, just not on a busy day.
Delicious and unique coffee without all the hype. Whether its a pumpkin spice latte or a black drip, their unique fire roasting shines through with clear earthy notes, absolutely no bitterness to be found. As a tea/coffee drinker, I appreciate that roast is invigorating without being so caffeinated you bounce off the walls with one cup.The warm atmosphere is everything from a hey when you come in, to the cute family photos on the wall, or a borrowing bookshelf featuring black authors and characters with pride. The camping theme is thorough without being tacky, from natural wood benches to local protein bars to take on the trail.10/10. New this year but sure to become a Tacoma standard.
Some of the best cold brew I’ve had in town! Cool vibe inside as well. Amazing that he started his business in 2020 and is still going strong! Stop in!
Great spot and atmosphere. Love to support local businesses, but our drinks were lacking. My latte was watery tasting and just didn’t taste right, and out other drink they didn’t exactly know how to make was also not so great.
Amazing space that helped me feel welcome in the city as a Black person. The coffee is amazing and the store is very clean. One of the owners was there both times i went, he was supporting his staff and he was open to some feedback that I had... then fixed the issue immediately and with enthusiasm :D I will be going back and recommend this space to BIPOC individuals and chill white people
Amazing atmosphere and incredible pour over coffee. If you want a break from the city life and to get away into a woodsy camping experience, look no further. I mean, where else can you do that? The staff is incredibly friendly and will 100% sing and dance to 80s music with you. Just go here and support your local coffee place. They deserve it. ❤️
My partner got the brown sugar and cinnamon cold brew and I got an iced americano. Both drinks were amazing but honestly I couldn’t stop stealing sips of the brown sugar cold brew - so good!
Amazing coffee. Incredible story of how they roast it over an open flame! Great and friendly environment. My unofficial office outside the office.
I just found my new favorite place! This coffee shop is amazing! I love the nature aesthetic. The staff are so incredibly nice and welcoming. The coffee is incredible. I wanted to try it out because its women and Black owned and fell in love. I cant wait to make it a regular place to hang out!
We are travelers passing through trying coffees along our way. This is the kind of place you wish was in your own backyard so you can have it all the time. From atmosphere to customer service to eats to java, simply sublime.
I visited Campfire Coffee this morning and had the best experience! Amazing coffee and amazing customer service; I cant wait to return! I ordered a hot Americano and my partner ordered a latte. Both drinks came out fast and were incredibly delicious-- such a treat. The owners of the shop are so kind and hospitable, and the seating area is spacious and clean.Campfire Coffee also has plenty of snacks and to-go food options, as well as craft sodas and kombucha. They also have coffee beans for sale, locally roasted. I purchased a bag of espresso blend. Street parking makes visiting this coffeeshop super easy and accessible. I will definitely be coming back! :-)
Stopped in yesterday for the first time, wanted to try out there coffee. I’m a coffee geek so standards are high :). They knew what a traditional macchiato was, so great start. And they roast their own coffee. So not surprisingly it was a great visit. We will definitely be back.
This place definitely has potential, but the vibes just aren’t that good inside. They need better seating arrangements and maybe some good music? It was just very quiet and not so cozy feeling. But the staff was very friendly!!
Delicious coffee and great atmosphere. Staff was super friendly and quick at making our drinks.
If you are looking for a good cup of coffee and a toasted bagel with cream cheese, this is the place. Amazing customer service, very friendly!
A nice little, hole in the wall coffee shop. The staff was very friendly, my order was correct and delicious, and not too expensive - a 16oz iced coffee with a toasted bagel and a tip for 6 bucks or so, Ill take it.
Very friendly service. Delicious coffee and a nice atmosphere. I would recommend stopping if youre in the area.
The shop was cute and the barista was very friendly but the coffee not so great.
Such a cute space. Wouldn’t recommend if you need to get serious studying done though. It was pretty loud in there and I couldn’t concentrate at all.
Excellent iced Americano. Friendly vibe. Outdoor seating in the afternoon is in the much welcomed shade.
Awesome little store. Can’t wait to see it post covid. Owner is very friendly and nice.Cubano is amazing, I highly recommend everyone try it.
The location is very convenient and easy to.find. The folks there are Super friendly people. They serve good coffee and have a great atmosphere. 👍
Coffee great, service phenomenon, atmosphere wonderful, only suggestion would be rearrange tables for more seating
Awesome atmosphere and delicious coffee! I got the s’mores latte and it was not only great flavoring but you could taste the great quality of their in house coffee beans. Will be back for more!
Awesome coffee, food, and vibes. The folks running this place are great- stop reading and go get a cup!
This is my new joint. I usually make coffee at home, but the atmosphere and friendliness of the owners made me a regular after 1 visit. I even got a cute little chocolate with my drink 💖
Ive been buying whole bean coffee from Campfire since April, when my best friend told me about their fire roasting method. Its been used for drip, pour over, and espresso coffees. So when I heard they were open for business I had to get over there in person!Their shop is so aesthetic and cute it feels like being at an indie coffee shop mixed with a campground. And they are so sweet! The owners were friendly and welcoming despite how busy they were. Our drinks were made with care and tasted fantastic. I am so excited to see how Campfire Coffee grows and am thrilled to be able to support a local, black-owned business for my coffee addiction - both at home and as a treat when Im out and about.
Great coffee good vibes. Cant wait till covid is over to sit with friends in a locally owned and operated business. Awesome experience.
8/21/20A friendly and warm atmosphere to enjoy your cup of joe. Ive ordered products from their website for a few months now so I was excited to hear it about their soft opening. While the parking was a little bit of an issue, we found a spot within a 5-minute walk of it. The shop itself looks really nice. Not a whole lot of seating right now, but that is understandable given the conditions. We ordered a Marshmallow Latte and a Black and White Mocha, they were ok. Nothing spectacular, but not overly sweet which was nice. Im going to give them the benefit of the doubt and say once they get into the groove of things and are officially open the quality will go up. I will definitely be back. Between the locally sourced snacks and merchandise, and the warm atmosphere, it makes for an enjoyable experience.
Met with someone I needed to interview. It’s one of the best coffees I had in a very long time. Chatted with the owner a bit and he was SO nice!!! It’s definitely a new stop for me when in Tacoma.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Coffee is excellent
Wow! I love this place. Great coffee and very cozy. Also bonus points for black own businesses.
I loved their merch and thought the staff was very kind. I am a huge coffee girl and this shop is next to my workplace. I tried their Toasted Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte. It wasn’t my favorite but I honestly think it was the drink I got. I want to go back and try a iced caramel latte instead. I suggest checking it out though! It’s a cute place and even if it isn’t my favorite, it very well might be yours. 😊
Campfire Coffee has a very unique taste and is quite the treat! They have an extremely warm and inviting atmosphere, even with the pandemic in full swing. The efficiency and presentation will definitely keep us coming back for more! Great job!!
Very cute little family owned shop. I got the veggie burrito and a peanut butter mocha and my only regret is that I didn’t get a bigger size for my mocha!
Came in for the first time bright and early for their marshmallow cream cold brew. Ive been ordering their coffee online for a while and knew it would be delicious. Real friendly and welcoming. As an avid backpacker I definitely appreciate their method of roasting and their vision. Highly recommended.
Ordered some beans from this place, received the bag yesterday and enjoying one of the best cups in a long time this morning, reminds me of my childhood waking up to coffee perking over the campfire.
There were many unique flavors to choose from. I tried almond and vanilla mocha, carmel machiatto, and a regular vanilla latte. Every cup was smooth and full of flavor- even my sugar free machiatto.
I was so glad to get the chance to pop into Campfire coffee last weekend. Their coffee drinks lived up to the hype! I also purchased a bag of beans to bring home. Would highly recommend!
When you walk in you are instantly transported into the outdoors--you no longer feel the hustle bustle of a mid-size port city, but instead you feel as if you are on a quintessential PNW camping wilderness experience. And then theres the coffee--just close your eyes and savor the flavor. Forget your worries and anxiety and just for a minute imagine that you are standing in that cascade of evergreens on a cool, misty morning. You are dressed in your warm flannel and a beanie--sipping pure deliciousness that warms you from the inside out while you take deep breaths of fresh air in between sips.
I really loved the coffee shop look and vibe!!! I’ve gone twice and coffee was not that good it was burnt. I also love that it’s black owned and as an African American myself I would have loved to see a barista of minority
The gentleman behind the counter was so sweet and he really made my morning 💜
PLEASE GET A THERMOMETER to check beverage’s temperature before you hand it to a customers. Milk is easy to overheat and besides burned tongue it also destroys the taste of the beverage :( Maybe it’s a one time thing and I would feel horrible to ruin your wonderful reviews. But seriously please think about getting a thermometer as it’s pretty annoying to have burned tongue and wait for your coffee to cool down for 30 minutes.
Super cute cafe in Tacoma! Great atmosphere inside and superb coffee roasted over an open flame!
Great atmosphere. Friendly staff and ownership. And FANTASTIC COFFEE.
Great atmosphere, way to go on emphasising the beauty of the Northwest, family, friends and great coffee! A must come see and taste the cup of Jo!
Veggie burrito was delicious. Caramel machiatto was excellent.
Nice coffee, fun aesthetic, convenient to the Marriott, open early on Saturday. I’d come back.
This is the BEST doppio in western Washington hands down. The flavor of the coffee is so inviting and delectable I am completely speechless. The owners were truly genuine and a pleasure to talk too. This is my new coffee spot. Also, the space is above and beyond clean and sanitary.
Really great coffee! I ordered a sampler and went to pick it up. I liked the classic espresso a lot. The space is really cool and the owners are very kind and welcoming.
Campfire coffee just opened in the middle of covid and its such an amazing experience! I heard about it from a couple of friends at my church and upon walking in Quincy welcomed us as if we were old friends. He talked us through how the coffee shop started and made us great drinks. We had a drip coffee and a cocoa bomb drink (quite the fun experience). The environment is super warm and well decorated woodsy theme. They also have a small library of childrens books that support the african american community. People were working on their laptops, a small meeting was going on, and a family came in. All the while Quincy was diligent to make sure to connect with each of them to make sure they had what they needed to feel welcome. In this time of COVID it was a welcome bright spot in our day. Will definitely be back.
Great coffee!!! Great people. The owners are just so friendly and nice. They really put there heart and souls into the roasting and service!! I’m so happy they are opening soon! Congrats!!!
Picked up a couple bags of coffee beans yesterday and my hubby and I had our first cups of Starry Night this morning! Wow! Such good coffee. So smooth and tasty! Im impressed!!
I go out of my way for this coffee. So amazing! Also the staff are incredible people!
The owners are two of the nicest people you will ever meet
This is a Super Friendly spot in a prickly town with perfect coffee.
Delicious coffee, and wonderful people! So excited to have this amazing coffeeshop in town. Give them a try next time youre in Downtown Tacoma! :-)
Extremely friendly staff. Neat ambience with the camping and outdoors theme. Excellent coffee. Tasty treats.
Amazing people! You really feel like family walking in. Support local businesses and vote with your dollar! The quality is always better.
You really should stop in this newly opened coffee shop. The owner made my coffee and was great to chat with. The coffee is really roasted for a campfire locally!! 😁
Medium roast coffee. Good indoor design
Great coffee and really cute mugs! The owners were super friendly and the space was awesome. Definitely recommend trying this place out!
Awesome place, product, owner and we look forward to our next visit.
First time here. The inside is a bit empty but the workers here go above & beyond for their customers.
I live only thirty seconds walking distance away from here and I am super excited about them opening up! The owners are so kind and friendly, and their coffee is great!!! I’m so glad I don’t have to drive to get coffee in the mornings anymore, this will be my new go to place. Please, go check them out!
Awesome coffee, awesome service, and awesome environment!
Excellent coffee. Friendly atmosphere!
Local Small Business minority owned. You will be hard pressed to find a better cup of coffee around here. Brew a pot and sit aroind the campfire!
Got an ice Americano. Tastes delicious. Staff was friendly and the space..... Its a fun space to get a coffee. Ill be back.
Great service, great coffee, great decor, a real joy to visit.
Inviting environment in a great area., would be the perfect place to catch up on work. The coffee was meh (I just got cold brew, will come back to try something else)
Thank goodness I heard about this place on KNKX, I’d be missing out otherwise. Really good coffee and great prices on their merch, I will most definitely be back! My new favorite place for coffee, thank you!12/30/20- I’d like to add to my review since Campfire continues to be awesome. I have been able to try almost all of their coffees and love them, but was hesitant to try their Snowcap white coffee because it was pre-ground and in a smaller package than the rest of their coffee, I usually just order the bigger bags. Well I am kicking myself for waiting so long, the Snowcap is REALLY good and now I understand why the white is pre-ground, thank you I will be buying more! I would also like to add a note about their merch- I was finally able to get a couple of their hoodies, they sell out often so get them while you can! They are very comfortable and a great price!Thank you again, your coffee is SO good and you all are amazing.I appreciate you.
Super welcoming staff and great pour over. Cool vibe.
Really good coffee!
Amazing people.. great coffee.. will be back very soon
New, cozy camp themed cafe with great service. Unique roasted coffee, highly recommend.
Really good coffee, great aesthetic, friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend
Always great service and absolutely amazing coffee!! Plus great place to study!

Disappointed. $4 for a 5 oz cappuccino that tastes like dirt no thanks
Great service coffee is pretty good
Incredibly nice people!! Good coffee!!
Not made over a campfire. not cool man.
