The best coffee I have ever had, and a great place to hang out with friends

One of the two coffee shops in Tacoma that is trusted to serve you quality coffee time and time again. Their pastry selection provides opportunity for everyone, regardless of preference or need to be able to enjoy their coffee with. Some of them are really good too! Just as their coffee, their service is exceptional and will be same from your first visit to your last visit. You can sit down and read a book or do some work, as there are comfy options with outlets provided.

Love this coffee shop - not only do they have quality coffee & pastries, but exceptional customer service. One of my favorite spots in Tacoma, hands down.

Not only are the drinks great, but the community within and surrounding Lander is kind and welcoming. The walk-up window offers a quick and efficient way to grab a delicious cup of coffee when out for a walk, bike ride, or if on the way to work. Lander definitely takes a spot in my list of top five favorite coffee shops EVER!

So this was the first time I had gone into the location to get coffee Ive driven by several times and always seen a line so I assumed it was good. Prices were okay customer service was good coffee was good but not the best Ive ever had. But its nice and convenient and right down the street so I think it would be something Id go back

New place that has good coffee roasted on Vancouver island. They also plan on roasting their own in the future. The decor is new but doesnt hold a strong theme. It also has some toys for kids and is welcoming for all.

This is a very nice shop to spend some time or just get a coffee to go.LA style and Seattle prices.

Excellent espresso and good pastries. Very clean, roomy and cozy cafe. There is a kids corner which is awesome if you bring a little kid. Will definitely be back.

I have been to Lander Coffee on a few occasions! The employees are very friendly and nice. I generally get a mocha and recently tried the sausage and egg breakfast sandwich which was great! Its a great neighborhood gathering place!

The community is turning out in large numbers to support this excellent coffee house with the right blend of well pulled shots, simple & satisfying nibbles, space for kids and atmosphere with just enough energy to work & visit without being overwhelming.My fandom was secured by their pastry case, which features the South Sounds best bakery: Olympias Left Bank Patisserie. If you are into French Pastries, these are the real deal...and Lander is always well stocked with a small selection of Kouign Amanns and the like.What I love - its packed in here, but theres always parking in front. Tacoma has a new top tier coffee bar (think Blue Beard, Valhalla, Manifesto, et al.)and we absolutely love it. Their cappuccino is reminiscent of those we’ve had in Europe, with a NW flavor to the roast. The baked goods from Left Bank in Oly are fresh and delicious. Try the Kouign Amann!

Nice folks, cozy space, good coffee. During the pandemic they have a walk-up window thats open 8-12 daily. Be kind to your barista- wear a mask and tip well!

Closed at 8am.....thats okay your competition can have my money.

Perfect local spot to grab a cup of joe. They have decaf espresso which I appreciate and the owners are great. 10/10

Lander is my absolute favorite shop in Tacoma and probably Washington in general. The owners are so warm and welcoming and that energy definitely emanates throughout the shop. They currently just have a little walk-up window for your coffee and pastry needs, but when the seating area opens up again you’re sure to enjoy it! The decor is, in my non professional opinion, very southwest meets mid century modern meets slightly minimalist (think pampas grass, terracotta, clean lines, muted neutrals and sage green...oh and house plants, love the house plants). It’s stylized and aesthetically pleasing while remaining cozy and inviting. The windows are large and let in lots of natural light, and the seating allows for both group and individual occasions. So if you want to (post COVID) get coffee with your weekly knitting group, or just work/study by yourself (or with a friend) you have the option to do either! There’s even a space for all the local moms and dads to gather while their kiddos play with toys. Now the drinks; they have a fine selection of quality, sustainably sourced options. They recently started serving some of their own, in house roasted beans, which are very delightful. They have a handful of teas to choose from (lavender is my personal favorite), and an absolutely fabulous chai (nice and spicy without being too much, you can even add a little honey or vanilla if you prefer a sweeter option). Oh, and the food!...the pastries, donuts, and breakfast sandwiches are divine so you’ll never leave hungry. Overall just a phenomenal coffee shop that truly cares about the people they serve and quality of their products. I personally appreciate the precautions they’re taking due to COVID and caring about the safety of their staff and customers. It’s nice knowing that the places I support care about the things I do and are just generally good people. I can’t wait for Lander to open they’re seating back up (when it’s safe to do so), it’ll be great to see some familiar faces again. In the meantime, stop by the walk-up window, enjoy a warm cup of coffee, buy some beans for your home roasting endeavors...oh, and maybe pick up a nice gift card for those upcoming holiday and birthday presents!Ps. Hands down, bar none, they have the BEST oat milk. Try it out.

This coffee is really very good. The Amigo roast is possibly the best roast west the Rocky Mountain Range IMO.

One of the best lattes I’ve ever had. They clearly know what they are doing when it comes to roasting and serving coffee and espresso. The environment is inviting and family friendly with plenty of seating and outlets for all. The owners are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly which adds to its local neighborhood feel.

Newest coffee shop (as of this writing) in Tacoma. Great coffee and limited food menu. Mostly small tables that are good for solo work, but can be a bit tight for two people with computers. There are some larger sitting tables and sitting area.

Sweet new coffee shop in a sort of suburban area, a nice place to walk to if you live nearby. Lots of big windows let in lots of light and allow for people watching as well. The coffee seems great and as time goes by I’m sure I’ll be able to say so even more confidently. If you liked Cafe Brousseau, or Aristocrat, (the two previous coffee shops at this location) Lander coffee should suit you quite well!
