I have been coming here for over 5 years. You can be added to a list to collect the latest releases of any new comic they get in. In the five years I have been doing this with them, I have only had one issue get missed. They still had it in stock so no big deal. I moved to Arizona two years ago and they even ship them to me there. Great people. Great store.

Customer Service is hit and miss. I appreciate it when a rep greets me when I walk through the door...especially if I’m the ONLY one in the shop. That didn’t happen during my last visit.

Beautiful place with walls filled of any new/old style comic you could think of. Shelfs of absolutely stunning female heros and pops are endless! The owner was very nice and helpful and the other worker seemed nice too. They do have a day where you can get a free comic book so thats great too.

Its a nice shop but for starters, it is very pricey. Its very well organized though, staff was nice enough. Comic selection was underwhelming but not the priciest on the comics. They just dont know much about toys and pricing.

Ive been been going to this shop since I was a teenager. Shane, the owner is passionate, & knowledgeable about comics. He usually will have great deals on occasion, & has great recommendations. Ashley has also helped me pick out some solid titles! They are great with exchanges & typically answer the phone pretty darn fast. I drive across the Narrows Bridge just to get my pull order from here. Support this shop.

We went looking for manga, which isnt their market, but found lots of other great options! Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. We will be back!

Nice spot for comic books and some collectables. We came in looking for Pokémon cards but they didnt carry the trainer boxes we needed.

This place is cool. It has a wide selection of comics, BUT there are no card, tabletop or fantasy game play items here. Strictly comics and collectibles.The store is pretty small with little walking room. No music and the staff pretty much keeps to themselves unless you need something. I dont know of many comic shops out in Tacoma, but this one is good if you need a comic fix and youre by the mall.

I come in here every couple weeks and I wish I could give more than just a 4 star. Sometimes there is an employee that just sits behind the counter and doesnt really interact with the customers. I feel like shes just standing there judging what Im digging for. I mean, Im sure shes not but at least ask if Im looking for something specific or say something like, nice day isnt it.

I was visiting family in Lakewood and discovered Atomic Comics. Amazing selection of silver age comics. Great staff, friendly and very knowledgeable. Great prices. I will return next year for more silver age comics!

I live in gig Harbor. I make a point to pay a bridge toll for 5.25 and drive my ass over to this store because it deserves your business. The main guy in there (forget his name, black hair kind of greying a bit) is SUPER HELPFUL and genuinely nice. He always has great input on a comic I may or may not want to buy. I always leave happy and with comics that dont let me down as a reader. Amazing customer service and selection in a world of shitty customer service and poor stock. I could easily order most stuff I get from amazon for the same price or maybe save a buck. Its worth it to me to give this guy/store my business whenever I can though. I appreciate this store and will always shop here exclusively. I recommend you check it out if you havent.

I really enjoy the setting in the atmosphere of Atomic Comics. Shane the guy that owns and runs a place is awesome very helpful and knowledgeable as well. I recommend that anybody thats a fan of comics gov is at the shop and see for themselves.

They have a great selection and the people there are very nice, however the reason I do not like this comic shop is 3-fold: 1. The prices are rather high on everything in the store, there are other shops with similar selection and better prices. 2. On at least 3 occasions they have advertised a sale on their facebook/IG and upon going into the store the sale is considerably more limited that one was led to beleive via the ad. 3. Though the people are nice and friendly, they are only so if you initiate the friendly conversation, otherwise is seems as though they dont notice you are even there.

Great shop! Terrifically organized and clean, and the staff are pleasant and accommodating but not at all overbearing. They have a huge selection of books from many different publishers and a huge collection of trade paperbacks. They run contests and do promotions, I won a hardcover graphic novel the other day just by buying the same comics I normally would anyway. The action figure selection is excellent, I collect female hero figures which can be rare in a lot of other shops, but they always have something I want. Im not sure why, might just be the times Im shopping, but I never see nerds there, which personally is a huge bonus. I dont need my comic credibility challenged when Im just trying to read some pulp. Their nickknack collection is really nice too, whoever does their purchasing has good taste. Great shop, nice people, the owner is super friendly. Thanks for being there.

For such a small shop, their variety is phenomenal. The employees know quite a bit about the comics as well and know what to recommend. Definitely a great place to go for comics, whether for trade paperbacks or single issues.

Hands down... the best comic book store in Pierce County. Clean, bright, organized, and inviting. I have visited every comic book store in Pierce County and the surrounding counties, and its the only place a non-comic book geek can actually feel welcome.You are the BEST, Shane!

We visit here every time were in town and they NEVER fail to impress. A really great selection of collectables, graphic novels and up to date (and back issue) comics. The staff is well versed in what they carry.

Got a couple presents here for the bosses birthday from all the employees. They are great! All the selection I needed to decide and I found more than I was looking for.... Will return for all future gifts for the boss.

Always has a wide arrangement of comics to read and choose from. Even have merch and figures of animes, shows, and comics. It is a nice inviting environment, one of the best places to geek out. I have been getting all of the Lady Mechanika comics lately and love the story so much.

Probably the best place in the Tacoma/Lakewood/Spanaway area. Clean, well lit, with a good selection of both new and back-issues, and some of the friendliest staff Ive ever met. The photo is from their May 4th (Star Wars Day) activities.

Better of the 2 comic book stores Ive been to in Tacoma. Clean and well organized. The staff werent overly friendly, and pretty much just interacted with each other.

Great serviceMy issue #3 of Dr. Strange never arrived and Marvel would take up to 8 weeks to send a replacement. This place not only went and found a copy of my missing issue, they held it for me until I could get there and buy it. Thank You Atomic Comics!

Lots of superhero comics and a few shelves packed with other graphic novels. They have collectors items on display and tons of figurines and knickknacks.
