Overall, a nice establishment. The doughnuts they offer were quite delicious. The coffee was not bad either. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and there was a decent amount of seating space.The only issues I had were that the price of the doughnuts seemed a little higher than most other places, but not incredibly overpriced (10-20 cents more). Additionally, there is only street parking.

Good donuts but more expensive than I like to pay for donuts.Got there a little after noon and wasn’t a huge selection. Everything looked tasty, especially the maple bacon bar. Service was friendly. It was very nice inside the shop. I had the French Crueller.I am torn being someone who likes quality and someone who views donuts as an inexpensive dessert snack as to whether or not I would be back but it is definitely worth a try!

OMG They have THE BEST cake doughnuts. My favorite is a vanilla cake with vanilla frosting doughnut. Their prices are INSANELY AMAZING. I think it’s like, around $1.50 per doughnut. Best prices and doughnuts in Washington.

We have been donut taste testing since our trip to Portland two years ago. We found this place in Tacoma, and it is my favorite of the places we have been over the course of the past two years. First of all, the box is awesome. It is a strong cardboard shoe box like box with a pop up top. Perfect! The donuts are all delicious, the crumb on the cake donuts is delicate and perfect amount of moist. The glazes are not overly sweet compliment the donut part. I really enjoyed the orange drizzle donut and the chocolate cake with the vanilla glaze, powdered sugar and cinnamon. Definitely worth the trip to the donut shop.

A nice pleasant, relaxing & clean atmosphere. Have stopped there numerous times with family, usually on our way to the farmers market in Tacoma. It is now a regular stop each and every time we are downtown. Great coffee and Goodies 🍩🍰☕

Uncomplicated traditional donuts types with tasty cruellers and cake varieties. Seasonal and holiday special varieties appear from time to time, also available coffee, milk, juice and Lemonades.. Prices are very reasonable in comparison to other specialty donut shops!

Oh man do I love this place! And Im super excited that they opened this new location in downtown Tacoma.Ive been going to House of Donuts for as long as I can remember. Im not really a donut person, per se, but House of Donuts is no joke.If you ask me, House of Donuts makes some of the best donuts in the Puget Sound area, and I would happily pit their donuts against any other donut shops.The selection is always top notch. While they always carry the regular flavors, they do a good job and introducing new seasonal donuts too.I make a point of stopping by House of Donuts at least twice a month - usually more - and since theyve opened the location here in downtown, I can swing by while I wait for my bus. Thats a mixed blessing for my waistline, but Im happy nonetheless.Update:This House of Donuts changed their hours!They now close at 4:00 which means I can no longer stop by on my way home.Im sure it was a business decision, but that means Ill be able to visit only once or twice a month instead of a few times a week since I work outside the city and dont return until after 4.Sad day.

Very good donuts, they are large, a nice variety. They are pricey, but worth it. Get there early for the best selection. Once they are sold out. Thats all.

Best pumpkin donut Ive ever had. Fiancé said the same about her (giant) maple bar. Staff was friendly and chatty even at 6am. A little bit pricey for donuts but honestly, you can taste the difference. Definitely going back. ;)

Donuts and cappuccino were fine and the lady was friendly enough, but theres so drinking water available besides bottled water to buy and restrooms were out of order.

I am a donut fiend so this place was like heaven to me. Very clean and bright, staffed by smiling faces. The donuts leave nothing to be desired. The cream filled variety are not my favorite, but I tried one at the recommendation of the woman behind the counter. I was not disappointed. The cream filled maple might be my new favorite over the ol maple bar. If you have a sweet tooth or a love of fried dough, this place is a no brainer.

Pretty good donuts and very fresh. The dinning area has a clean hip feel to it. The service is friendly and helpful.They have a nice variety that will keep you coming back for more.

Good doughnuts, this location is usually not as busy as the Lakewood one. Most servers are nice, some will tell you they cant give you a cup of water though... They arent cheap doughnuts so thats kind of frustrating to not be able to get a cup of water without paying for it...

I love the maple bars at this place! The one at Lakewood never disappionts!! I went to the Tacoma one because it is closer to my house. Apparently they arent open on sundays? It was 9am and the hours even state on the building say saturday and sunday hours at 8 to 12. I dont know of they are on winter hours or what, but dont show up here expecting anything other than a locked door!

The best donuts Ive ever had! We made a pit stop on our way home after reading other reviews. It took us a while to decide but the lady working behind the counter was friendly and very patient lol. Thankyou! We had half a dozen in total. Omg. Ive never had donuts so perfectly cooked. Ive had a lot of donuts in my lifetime and this was the best Ive had. My favorite was the apple fritter. My second was their version of red velvet. We shared more and all was consistently good. Not super sweet like others and super fluffy on the inside. Ill definitely make this my go to place when Im in Tacoma!

I love Original House of Donuts so much. They cant be beat by Krispy Kreme once youve had them - theres simply no comparison. The donuts are fresh and tasty and they switch up the variety frequently. The maple bacon bars are excellent. Not crazy expensive for the quality of donuts either. Convenient location downtown too. Theres tables and a bar here, with outlets - good for a study session.

Parking can be a bit tough around this spot. The staff was fast. The doughnuts were good and there was a solid selection. The venue was also very clean.

This location is clean, the employees are kind and helpful, and the donuts are delishes and at a great price! The only downside is on certain days they sell out really fast which means they close up early. However if you are wanting a tasty donut at a great price, I truly reccomend coming here!

Very dissatisfied with the service and attitude of the Male store clerk. We came in a couple weeks ago and bought a dozen donuts for 9 dollars, not realizing that was there end of day specialFast forward to today. I asked what the price was and the gentleman behind the counter replied 19.00$ like always I said dang last time they were 9.00 he replied well obviously you came in the last hour we were open because they are 19.00 LIKE ALWAYS. I walked out for a minute to confer with the hubby.Went back in and said ok, ready to order, he rolled his eyes, I asked do you have any apple friters...he said...yeah right next to the sign that says apple fritters.Very rude. We will not be back.

Located downtown Tacoma across the street from the Pantages theater, this place sells donuts of all kinds. Coffee can also be purchased. There are some small tables so large groups would be difficult. There are restrooms, but you need to ask for the key. The place is clean, the staff friendly, and the donuts good.

Its okay. Nothing special. A few frou frou donuts made with essence of lavender root or some such pretentious ingredients. Sigh. I guess donuts have to be glamorized in some way so that the high society people dont get their noses bent put of shape. Everytime I go in there, the place is like a tomb. I dont think they do much business, but who knows?

Excellent doughnuts. Very substantial. Decent price (not great but you get what you pay for), 12ish bucks a standard dozen. Parking can suck at different times of the day, and its metered. Easy to find, just go up 9th in downtown Tacoma and its on the right, hard to miss. Really the only things that could be improved(that matter to me) are the quantities that the bakery provides and the hours on the weekend.
