We needed them to fix a seized commercial roll up door so we could close the business for the day. They gave me an arrival window of 2:30pm to 6:00pm. At 6:05 we called them and were informed that no one would be able to make it that day. I then had to scramble to find an alternative company to get the door closed.Because Avanti failed to communicate they couldnt make their appointment, we had to pay an emergency rate with another company and didnt get the door closed until 11:30pm.I get that things happen and technicians arent able to make appointments, but if I have to call a company after their appointment time to find out they wont make it, it is an automatic one star.

Dont trust the quote. So I call and they tell me that since I already have the parts (the springs) that it is $40.00 to come out and $99.00 an hour for labor. Sounds reasonable, so I ask them to send someone out. They are quick about sending someone out, which I appreciated. But when the person, who is very nice by the way, comes out he tells us it will be $225.00, right off the bat. So that makes me automatically uncomfortable. I call the main number to ask about this discrepancy of $85.00. The person who answered, Nate, asked for all my info again, I explained the situation and what he had originally quoted me and asked why there was such a big difference. He said well they cant see the exact situation and I hear someone telling him what to tell me in the background. Okay, I get that, but isnt that why they are getting paid $99.00 an hour for labor, I mean I dont get paid that much in my job an hour, so I feel like if my specific situation is more difficult then it would take the person working on it over an hour, and then paying more would be reasonable, but all in all from start to finish it took him 23 minutes to fix my door (that is including him talking to my husband, and looking for all the parts before he started and the time it took to hand him the money) I think he did a great job. My garage door works again, Im super happy with how nice the repairman was and professional, I just didnt appreciate how the quote worked out. After Nate explained that they cant see the specific situation I have, he acted like he was done helping me and tried to get off the phone. I didnt feel like Id been helped at all since he hadnt explained how the repairman had an entirely different quote before even starting the job. When I said I didnt feel like Id been help he didnt offer any resolution and just repeated what he had already said and continued to repeat what the person in the background told him. I think they could work on their customer service as well as how reliable their quotes are. I honestly would have still asked them to come out even if he quoted me $225, but transparency matters. Just be honest about your prices and customers will feel more comfortable.
