This store had a wonderful produce section and the aisles are packed with Mexican products as well as what you would get at regular supermarket. The bakery area in front of store has beautiful cakes. There is a small deli in back and meat market.

It was cool. Definitely shop there, except the still keep the Halloween decorations hanging so thats the only downside, but other than that. Its great!

I shop for groceries here. Pretty good selection, great butcher counter and make excellent chicharrones de carne, great salsas de arbol and habanero. Also love takeout from the deli/prepared food counter. They make excellent carnitas and birria, and will make you a burrito of either which is a great lunch for two, theyre big. Very good menudo, on weekends. Also lately Ive been picking up chiles rellenos for a quick dinner, those are not cheap but they are very tasty.

I was a regular costumer but lately I had issues with their products I bought meat that was spoiled, the nescafe coffee was so old and expired, desserts 🎂 was spoiled it had mold all over the top of the gelatina smell so nasty like spoiled milk. gross!!! I love this market! Lots of fresh options of meats and produce, hot and ready tamales and pupusas and an amazing selection of pan dulce.

I cooked their regular carne asada for my family and it was amazing. Very tender with a subtle citrus and savory element. Their refried beans and salsas are excellent, too. Ill be coming back very soon.The cleanliness is on par with other carnicerias. Not filthy, but not totally clean. Personally, I find it to be a part of the overall experience. I highly recommend giving this market a try.

Hand made tortillas and all the hot food is really good you can take it to go or eat here. They bake cakes to order very good cakes and Mexican sweet bread. Staff is very friendly and have lots and lots of products from Latin America candy, pots, pans and so much more definitely check it out if youre in this area.

Oh my gosh! What a nightmare! Im surprised that D.O.H has not shut that place down! I was gonna buy some dessert til I saw a fly inside the display case! overpriced, the sewage was leaking from the toilet and I noticed a bunch of toilet paper with feces! I almost threw up and decided to hold it and eat somewhere else! Also, they had rotten fruit and vegetables. VERY UNSAFE AND UNSANITARY!

Nice place to find a variety of Mexican spices and any additions to Mexican style cooking you may need. There is always fresh salsa, beans, coleslaw. Theres a bakery with a variety of cakes to fill your hearts desire.There is a butcher on-site. Also a restaurant in the back that serves wonderful dishes. Store makes their flour tortillas fresh everyday. Carry quite a variety of produce and prices are reasonable. Parking is very available. The store is always clean and the customer service is wonderful theyre knowledgeable and speak English. I buy carne asada! Dont be intimidated step right in and act like you own the place you are wanted and loved. Management is truly a blessing they go out of their way to accommodate you. So as a local guide I am putting in an order to management to please consider making shredded beef taquitos with the secret green sauce! There are no other places that will make shredded beef its all chicken taquitos. So I either have to lower standards and go to Taco Time or make my own. secret greens sauce.

They added more clutter instead of giving the place a deep cleanse. They have rotting vegetables and I saw an employee taking off expiration dates on cakes to put on new exp dates. Prices are high considering most of them are expired. They have products on their shelves from 6 years ago. Owners are clearly greedy.

Bought some pork tamales that were very tasty BUT there was sooo little meat I felt I got ripped off!In a couple tamales it was literally 95% masa with meat surprise so I said maybe that was just a one time thing so I bought 6 chicken tamales and to my surprise it was the same! Very little meat on one of the sides and mostly Masa.It was like meat flavor on one side.Go to Costso and get tamales there so much more meat and tastes just as good except at least 50% meat ratio yes like it’s supposed to be.Very disappointed in this place,

Rude employees and owners think they own the Buckingham palace

It is one of the bigger stores in tacoma, that has central and south American foods. The employees have been really nice every time I have been there.

Meat market is good. Lots of Latino products. Not the best selection of fresh produce, tomatoes, plantains, etc...

Dirty and depressing. The windows are covered with the residue of old stickers. The meat just looks awful. The produce, however, looks great and is very reasonably priced. Pastries and cookies are the dry, barely sweet things you normally get from a Mexican market. The fresh flan and cake are good but pricey.

I enjoyed their Chile reyenos. Awesome :)

Disgusting place. Rude employees and manager. Place sells rotten vegetables and food. An employee actually stated that they use the rotting avocados that they cant sell for their guacamole. I noticed some green dye on the top of the container so I asked the manager if they added green dye to the brown guacamole and she got nervous and admitted to it since it was hard to deny. Ive purchased 2 items that have been priced incorrectly and the employee would not sell it at the price it was stickered.

Great stuff here but especially love the deli. Get your chicharonnes, carnitas, arrechera, everything! I love ordering by the pound for parties with there house made tortillas. The best!

1st time buying I bought two kinds of meat, chorizo & meat cut up & the chorizo was great but the other meat was rotten, I could tell it looked but though .maybe no why would they sell it but nope next time Ill trust my instincts & not buy being that Im pregnant I couldve gotten very sick as for my husband the little bit he tried caused great tummy ache & then when I called to complain I got no answer. As for service, their good very friendly but pricy store.

I love going into La Huerta and picking up fresh Pan and fresh tortillas.

This place is hella dirty! I thought maybe it was just authentic and a couple bugs doesn’t hurt anyone but I bought a piece of chocolate flan and 6 tamales. I was half way through the flan when I looked at the back and saw mold growing!! I am so disgusted right now I will never buy anything made there again. They need to be shut down.

Costumer service is horrible cashier doesnt seem to get along with the woman who shop but when it comes to men shes all flirting and and being nice, and el jalapeno has better service.

Would avoid buying anything perishable or with slow turnaround. Its good for a quick stop for Latin American groceries and snacks.
