Ordered ammo from them at a reasonable price and what seems to be a new trend in the industry they canceled the order. Ive had this happen at least a half dozen times this year. Find a good deal on ammo place the order and they turn around and say oops we dont have it or oops we didnt mean to sell it at that price. Im going to give them the benefit of the doubt because they actually called and apologized so Ill only lower it to 3 stars. I may give them another chance later on, hopefully I dont have the same issue again.

I made the mistake of buying ammo from these guys without checking out the inside of the box. Im gearing up for alaska and wanted some high quality 10mm in case of a life or death situation. When I went to load up my magazines I noticed that they had just put their reloads in high-end boxes and charging double the price to fool customers. With todays shortages I failed my due diligence and was just happy to find ammo in stock. Now I know why these guys are overstocked when everyone is sold out. Thankfully I noticed before I encountered Mr. Bear and had to depend on reloaded ammo with unknown specs. BUYERS BEWARE, your not getting what is advertised.

Have done multiple transactions and firearm transfers through them. Staff has always been informal and straightforward with questions and how they do business. Firearm selection is quite good right now all things considered, like many other places ammo is higher then some online sources but hey no $20+ shipping. Overall I have never had a bad experience or a reason yet to not do business. They have one of the best transfer fee in the area, notably less then a few other shops within 10 mile radius.

I’ve tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but I’ve been in there three times and got nothing but dirty looks from the guy behind the counter. Today I stood at the counter with my purchase for five minutes while he carried on a conversation about buying black market MREs, but another customer walked up and he was helped immediately. These guys are fudds and they’re not looking for new customers, only interested in serving the ones they’ve already got, apparently. Mediocre, overpriced guns and insane ammo prices makes me think they just hate their customers. Bullseye is a couple of blocks away and better in every way imaginable, take your business there instead.

I understand that given the current times things are hectic, but it is absolutely unacceptable to not respond to phone calls, voicemails, or emails after days or weeks. Especially if it is regarding a major quality control issue with a product you built...I had purchased a complete AR upper receiver assembly from these guys a few years ago. Never really used it much and recently I decided to inspect it a little bit more thoroughly. I was shocked at how poor the build quality was.For starters, they used a barrel with rifle style feed ramps in an upper designed for M4 style feed ramps. This is a major issue as it creates a gap between the two ramped surfaces which catches projectiles with a sharp edge. Major reliability issue, and also fraudulent advertising given that they claim all their uppers have M4 style ramps. What this indicates is that they are slapping these things together with parts from the lowest bidder, and arent even so much as inspecting them after assembly.Second issue was the gas block. They used a very inexpensive aluminum gas block that holds in place using two set screws. Normally this wouldnt be the worst thing except they did not dimple the barrel for the set screws, and they installed the gas block crooked. Not good. After no communication from Surplus Ammo and Arms for several days, I ultimately decided to rebuild the upper receiver assembly myself to correct their mistakes. I thought I had found the end of the issues but boy was I wrong...When I went to remove the barrel nut, It took probably close to 120 foot pounds of force to remove because these geniuses clearly didnt read the armorers manual which very clearly states NOT TO EXCEED 80 FOOT POUNDS when tightening. Additionally, you are supposed to use a very specific grease, or an anti-seize compound when tightening the barrel nut. They very clearly didnt do that, in fact they used a wheel bearing grease. I could tell, it was very obvious and had the signature smell. The barrel nut got very chewed up removing it, fortunately I had a spare on hand.Thinking that was the end of it, the nonsense still continued! After removing the barrel I saw that the inside of the upper receiver was severely scratched through its anodizing due to a burr on the barrel extension on that side. Its safe to assume someone dropped the barrel when putting it together, didnt notice the burr, and just crammed and twisted it in there.Ultimately I ended up fixing this myself, on my own dime. I am extremely disappointed in how Surplus Ammo has failed to stand behind their product (which I might add is not exactly cheap). I had previously recommended and referred people to them in the past but will not continue to do so after this. What a shame. As a final message to Surplus Ammo: If you want to make this right and want me to take down this review then reach out to me. As long as this review stays up its an indicator that you have yet to remedy the situation.

3 stars because ammo selection is amazing compared to any other shop (especially RN)- however, pricing is INSANE. I suppose if you NEED a supply, this is your place- but you will have to mortgage your house to afford it. Some items were shelf priced at 300% mark up (24.99 vs. 79.99) but a thorough search produced one item at a fair enough price to purchase. Staff was busy, but knowledgeable and helpful.

Called on the phone and employee told me they had ammo in stock but couldn’t give me prices. I drove 30 minutes to the store from my place and sure enough they had a decent selection of 5.56 NATO and .223 but at even higher prices than the internet! I was blown away as they are charging $1.60 per round or more for these caliber! I know there is price gouging going on but these guys take the cake and it’s no wonder they don’t give prices over the phone. All you got to do is google “online ammo” and several great websites that have ammo in stock for $1.20 per round and some even do free shipping! Definitely won’t be going to this store ever again. Side note also packed my 2 year old on this trip adding to the frustration.

Washington residence have to pay tax so I always go to the store and look stuff up online and call to see if its in stock. Ive had pretty good experiences the only thing I noticed is when they moved the ammo prices went up. My 300 blackout turned out great no issues with any of the SAA uppers or lowers.

I walked in on March 28th, 2021. There were three employees and two customers talking to employees. I quickly realized the one employee was having a personal conversation with a person, not a customer because he did not buy anything. I was not greeted. After 15 minutes the guy who was talking to the customer asked if I was doing okay as I was standing there waiting. I told him I knew what I wanted and he said well there are customers over there looking so you have to wait. Fine. Finally the customers left, and I told him what I wanted and pointed it out. He then told me that I needed my ID and my CPL which was fine. We did paperwork and I had to fill out a separate form on a computer. Look, Im fine with you being a veteran, I think its great, but dont give orders to potential customers like I am in your platoon and youre my sergeant because youre not. The overall atmosphere was rude and pushy. When finally it came time to check out I saw there was the price of the firearm plus taxes but it was labeled as delay hold fee so I was confused and I asked if that was refundable and he said all up to 100 dollars if there is a problem with the background check. Then he said. Now you have me worried is there something I should know about that would show up on your background check? Which was stupid to ask because I had already gave him my concealed pistol license which already has an extensive background check and fingerprints as well and you can see the issue date as two weeks prior. I said no absolutely not and then he proceeded to try and sell me hard even though I was already going to purchase it. He literally said, If you decide to not buy it now that would be stupid because I cant tell you when I will have more in stock. Honestly I should have left at this point but I really wanted this firearm so I paid and got the hell out of there. When I went to pick up my firearm about two and half weeks later I waited a bit and got help from the guy who handles the back stock who was nice and actually very helpful. I signed for it and left. Some side notes: No employees wear masks in the store despite people dying from a deadly virus, except one and his mask was hand crocheted and was way too small for his face so in between each knot was a huge hole and honestly he should have just not worn one at the time. Another employee had a button that said I am exempt from wearing a face mask. Which is funny because there are no exceptions as per governor Inslees order which mandates all employees who are working must wear a mask no matter what. Also the price gauging is absolutely real. Just read other recent reviews. Ill be damned if you think I am going to pay 2.50 a round for 9mm. Bought it online same box for 79.99 versus 119.99 in store.Bottom line go elsewhere. They do not care about unsatisfied customers because if they did, they would comment on customers negative reviews and not just the positive ones. I honestly do not know how they stay in business. Also they do not give out prices on the phone because they know no one would show up if they did. Also they claim they have a website however they say the prices are different on the website then in store because The website and the store are two different companies. I cannot describe how that makes no sense. I will never be returning and I will make sure everyone I know to not go here ever.

The person behind the counter looked puzzled when I mentioned that my AR was not completed. I was super excited and was looking forward to taking it to the range on my next day off after driving an hour for pick up. I was deflated when I was told I could leave it and come back and pick it up in a few days or take it with me and have someone else do it. I choose option 1. Needless to say...everything worked out and Mike threw in a trigger and magazine for my inconvenience. He made me feel important and apologized for the mixup. I read mixed reviews about these guys before, so was a bit leary when going in. I was looking for a specific type of rife, and they were the only place that had it in stock. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and we were helped relatively quickly even though it was busy. It did seem to take a while for anything to get done, but these are gun people not professional salesmen. If you are expecting them to faun over you, this is not the place, but they know what they are talking about, which is what I was looking for. What impressed me the most was when I went back in to pick up the rifle (had to wait for the fed green light). One of the employees was talking to a potential customer who wasnt sure what he wanted. The employee told the guy to go to a gun range and test a few pistols out before buying one so he would know better what was good for him. That, to me, is a good salesperson. He wanted the guy to get the right gun for him rather than sell the guy something he might not like. I actually might have given the service a 2, due to the amount of time it took while I was there, but overhearing that tipped the scales for me.

I have been tracking g a 300. Blackout kit for 6 months, out of stock still! And to compound the lack of inventory, the price on the still out of stock item, has increased about 30%. Other businesses, of equal or better quality, have not increased their prices, some have decreased! So it is not a an increased cost to Surplus, seems more like a flawed business plan. Needless to say, especially after reading about their bad customers service and question service/quality, it seems unlikely that if you a problem, they will be available or willing to correct the issue. I will be passing on this business.

Just left this store. Overall great experience. Ive been in quite a few times just picking up ammo but this time I needed a few things for my AR build. The gentleman that helped me was very friendly and helpful. He didnt hesitate to tell me about personal experiences with different systems, products, parts, etc and stayed with me until I had everything I came in to get. This is generally the experience that Ive had with the people in this store any time Ive visited, and it helps that I live nearby because I know I have a good place to go when I need something. Im going to have them check the headspace (which he said they will do free of charge) when Ive got my rig put together and will probably be buying all my ammo from them. The people giving bad reviews are probably not being as honest as one would hope, or theyre just douche bags, which is likely. A good rule of thumb (Ive worked in customer service before) is that the most likely person to leave a review is someone with a complaint, so keep that in mind. The people who have good experiences dont seek out a way to express themselves, unless it was an extraordinary positive one, but people who are bitter inside or carrying a lot of anger tend to be the loudest overall. My suggestion is to just go see for yourself like I did.

It would have been nice to know that the store was closed for inventory on 12/31. When I looked at the website yesterday it said you would be open. Now today I see store hours may differ. I was rolling in hot to buy guess now Ill just have to wait. one star because the website hours were messed up.

These guys have the best prices on many firearms. Good blue label selection that beats even the tax free firearms they sell on JBLM. The most streamlined process in the area for suppressors and SBR paperwork. Knowledgeable staff and fair prices for sales to dealer. Complete Ammo selection as well.

My favorite gun store in the entire Puget Sound area by far! This is for several reasons. I can only highly suggest and recommend that everyone go look at this place before they go shopping anywhere else.

Andy, Aaron & the rest of the crew at this store are an asset to the firearms industry. Great guys, super friendly, very helpful in purchasing whatever you need. It is impossible to go in this store and not walk out with something. They have darn near everything you could think of there. Go in and see them, you will not be sorry.

Mostly knowledgeable staff, dont get the standard guff that normal gun shop denizens have, and prices are pretty decent too. If you arent buying online, this is a good stop on the way out to your shooting hole.

If there was a 10-star rating this shop would get it. Just completed what unfortunately became over a month-long process of buying and transferring a S&W MP9 2.0 from ProForce. An excess in miscommunication from them made it such a difficult process but its finally done, thanks to the unparalleled patience of Tye and Bob.

I like the store. The prices are competitive with the internet, and the staff is knowledgeable and not pushy. I appreciate that they don’t get annoyed with me calling and asking if my NFA items tax stamps have arrived. I call every week or two. John is great 👍.

Knowledgeable, Competent, Friendly and VERY Professional People here. They have a Large range of firearms, magazines, Ammo, Holsters, and even some odds and ends. Anything they dont have can typically be special ordered for you, and in my experience they have things for lower than MSVP. And as a bonus, most of them are active/ex military/law enforcement. My Favorite place to purchase a firearm/have a firearm shipped to.
