I have had Gary do work on all of my guitars: classical, archtop, electric, flat top acoustic. Hes has installed and replaced pickups, done numerous setups, installed new frets and more.He does high quality work. He is very professional and takes pride in his work and it shows. I highly recommend him. I dont just let anyone touch my guitars.You will not be disappointed.

Purchasing a new guitar without taking it to Gary is like hopping in a new car without adjusting your seat or mirrors. Yea, you can play it, but some adjustments can be made.Gary took my new guitar and tweaked it for maximum performance and playability. His knowledge of the instrument is profound.

Gary helped with with setup for two new guitars and they play really, really, well now. The before and after difference is very noticeable. Nice guy who has a lot of knowledge. Id recommend him for anyone.

I live in Texas and wait until I have a trip to Tallahassee to get Gary to do all my guitar repair work. He is truly a master who has musician prices. What seems like the impossible he makes very simple. His knowledge is beyond many luthiers that I have encountered. I purchased a Taylor 614 CE that did not play well at all. I took it to several approved Taylor luthiers. They all said it was within specs and made no attempt to get it playable. I took it to Gary. He took one look and noticed the neck was bowed, the pickup was not adjusted properly, the truss rod was wrong, nut was wrong and bridge was wrong. Now this is how it came from the factory. I left it overnight and picked it up at noon the next day. It was a different guitar. Plays like butter, sounds even better. He only charged me for a full set up. Wow. He also explained the deficiencies in the pickup system and recommended a LR Baggs system. I will explore that at a later date. Gary is MY guitar guy no matter if I have to drive from Texas to Florida it is worth it. He is the best!!!!!

Gary did an amazing job setting up two of my guitars! I couldn’t have asked for better service. He is great at communicating while repairs are done, and definitely takes the time to make sure his repairs are meticulous.

Excellent fretwork. New stainless steel frets on an older Ibanez Prestige. Super low action and excellent playability. Gary is so good, Id ship guitars to him if I lived out of the area.

Gary knows his stuff. Made my Strat Plus a Strat Plus Plus. Gonna bring him the next one to setup. He can do anything you need on a guitar from changing pickups to refretting.

Gary did a great set up on my D-18. The sound and playability are everything Id hoped for. He did it quickly too. Its a completely different instrument now. I highly recommend him.

Gary at Folkstone is the premier luthier in North Florida. If you ever need guitar work done, this is the place to go. Ive trusted him with my vintage fenders, Collings, Martins, and anything else that passes through my hands. He is a real professional, capable of serious mods and repairs. He is very experienced refretting with stainless steel, and has the best looking headstock repairs Ive ever seen. Ive also seen countless guitars in his shop for neck resets and full restorations.
