Kyle with his no nonsense, friendly approach directed me to the most beautiful Collings Mandolin that I have encountered, and without hesitation, made this special purchase! As a Luthier/Violin Shop owner myself, I know what it is to be able to provide great customer service..Kyle did just that! I am so happy with this whole buying experience, I would recommend Kyle and his shop to my customers and friends without hesitation!

I ordered a mandolin from The Mando Shop which is apart of string fest and could not be happier. Im a mandolin newbie for the most part and started a little over a year ago on a 40 dollar rogue mando. I decided it was time to upgrade and after doing a fair amount of research I knew I wanted a JBovier. I know a lot of people are of the opinion that not trying an instrument before you buy it can be dangerous, but I was set on JBovier and couldnt find any of them near my city. I browsed through a couple of online mandolin stores and decided on The Mando Shop.Kyle was pleasant to work with! He was very responsive and communicative and clearly knew his way around a mandolin. I spoke with Kyle quite a bit via email and he was very helpful. Once I settled on my mandolin I thought that I wanted the tailpiece replaced as the cheap rogue tailpiece always fell off and caused issues. Kyle actually talked me out of this and said that My feeling with any upgrades on a mandolin, if it sounds good then don’t change a thing. The only time I recommend upgrades is when the player is not satisfied with the mandolin’s sound and wants to experiment because any change can make it sound better, have no effect or make it not sound as good. I was astounded because this kind of talk comes from someone who cares about the instrument and giving his customers full disclosure rather than making a quick buck. I decided to pull the trigger and order the instrument as well as have a second strap peg put in.After Kyle completed the set up he sent it out to me noting that he had a good time playing my mandolin. Again I was impressed, this wasnt something that had just been pulled out of some dusty old warehouse - Kyle played my mando to make sure that the setup he performed was done right. When I got the mandolin I could not have been happier. She sounds incredible, the action is spot on, the tone is rich and deep, and she looks beautiful.Ive been playing her for about a month and a half and I could not be happier. The mando has continued to stay true and sound brilliant. If youre thinking of purchasing a mandolin definitely consider the Mando Shop. Kyle is excellent to work with! I felt no pressure during the buying process, was not fooled into making unnecessary upgrades, and Kyle is clearly a master at his craft.
