Great resale clothing for kids
Fantastic store, always lots of great quality items that are fairly priced, friendly & helpful owner! My son loves our shopping adventures here.
I have bought many items from Sweetpeas in the past two years for my daughter. Well stocked, clean, and very reasonably priced for quality stuff. The owner is genuinely happy to help customers. She helped my wriggly one year old try on cloths when it was hard for me to do it myself.
Great selection and prices and service. Had so much fun poking around in here. Wanted to buy pretty much everything in the store. We’ll be coming back!
Found out about Sweet Pea Consignment by being gifted some items at our baby shower. I had to exchange the item due to sizing and season of clothing not being accurate for our soon to be born child. I had never consigned before and Christine walked me through it with ease. I brought by loads of my older child’s out grown clothing after scheduling an appointment and she took what matched her needs for her inventory. Understandable! I make a little cash and get new item for my new born. Win/Win in my eyes.
Kristine and Scott run a fabulous shop! Great selection; great prices; great ambiance. My toddler loves the kiddo area and never wants to leave, which makes shopping there a great experience. And Kristine and Scott are welcoming and friendly. Enjoy!
Wish pricing was a bit more fair considering it is second-hand. Former owner had better pricing that seemed a lot more fair and reasonable. Was looking for shirts for my 3-year-old and couldnt hardly find any items under $7. I can buy new good quality shirts for $5. I want to support them but I also have a budget!!
Ive been going to Sweetpeas for years now and still love it! The staff are friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable regarding childrens goods and clothing. There has even been many times when Ive requested a product and they have called me as soon as the product has been consigned. They also recommend a better time to consign, and I think they are fair with their prices. My only regret is that they are so far away from me now!
I feel lucky to have this store near our house. Weve been many, many times, and of course, Im always happiest when the owner is present. As with any retail shop, even a meticulously/judiciously managed one -- there is potential for at least one experience with a weird vibe with an employee. In all our times, I think twice I really didnt gel with the person who was buying, but I just came back again another time if I wanted to spend more time or had more items to sell.Ive had triply negative experiences when selling my own clothing to other (womens) resale shops, so this is altogether heavenly in comparison.I only wish it could be bigger, with possibly more in each size. Toys, baby supplies, even a few womens items, patience for small children everywhere. Definitely a neighborhood business, run by great human beings, worth supporting.
I called sweetpeas to ask if they donated things they could not use and informed the woman who answered that I was on my way to the store with things to consign and wanted to donate whatever they could not accept. She informed me, in a cold and confused fashion, that yes they do donate but to hurry because they were closing. Once I arrived, the older lady working was incredibly rude about the amount of items I brought with me and, upon further research I did find on their website that they ask for a limit on walk in consignment, but I wasnt combing their website for details, that is why I called the store to talk to a human and get information that way. She had not informed me over the phone about any limit of items and acted like I should have just known that. I had never been there before. During our discussion about selling and donating items, she could have taken the 2 seconds to let me know about that. Again, with a very rude attitude, she begrudgingly pawed through my bags of baby clothes, taking out 3 items that she was able to accept. That was fine, I realized that many of my items were summer pieces and that I would have to donate the majority of them, but when we were finishing up I was standing there waiting to give her the rest of my information for their system and she very shrilly told me that was all. I will definitely not be returning, the $5 my consigned items will sell for is not worth having to interact with someone who has no idea what customer service means. I would especially not recommended any young moms to check this place out, as Im a younger mama and I believe that has to do with the way I was treated. Not only was I completely taken aback at how poorly I was treated during our entire interaction, while looking at the items I realized how ridiculous the prices are. Im all for small business and supporting local shops, but Im more for customer service and positive interactions. This place doesnt deserve your business.
Poor customer service to the point of rudeness and disappointing prices, I wont be going back.I made a trip to Sellwood specifically to check out the store, and was excited to look and buy some clothes for my baby. I came in the middle of the day and there was only one other customer (not even sure if she was a customer or just a friend of the woman working there). No one welcomed me as I entered, even though the employee (or owner?) was standing right by the door. In fact it seemed I was interrupting a private conversation between the two women and I wondered if maybe they were closed or on lunch or something.I started looking around, trying to find pajamas in my babys size, not quite sure where they would be. I would of asked for help, but the women couldnt care less if I was there. As I looked around, I wasnt impressed by the prices of the clothes - like $15 for a used baby sweater - or the overall quality of what they had to offer.I was really disappointed. Youd do better looking at the childrens section of Goodwill, and probably get better service there too!
This is a follow up review, I wrote one under my account Dakota Hufford. I had a poor experience my first time there, but after writing the review the lovely owner of the shop gave me a call to apologize for my experience and was incredibly kind. I would like to change my review and let people know that there is in fact excellent customer service at this shop and that the owner is very sweet and really made me feel like a valued customer.
Decently priced items but the time I went to sell a few things I was told several name brands couldnt be taken, newborn items couldnt be exchanged and I would have to leave my things there til theyre sold THEN at which point I could collect the money. Instead of leaving empty handed & feeling dismissed I took my things to Other Mothers.
What a great store! My kids have grown up wearing clothes from Sweetpeas and I too frequently have something on that I bought at Sweetpeas. And now 2 of my kids are selling their own clothes and/or toys there to earn money for fun or to buy more things they really want at Sweetpeas. Not only have we found great clothes at really good prices, but Sweetpeas has taught my children about saving money and thinking about what you want to buy once you have your own money. I appreciate that Kristine and Scott have been helpful with them understanding how this all works and open to the kids also having their own accounts. A lot of has been learned. There is always a good feeling when I walk into the store. Sweetpeas is a part of what makes Sellwood such a great neighborhood.
Best childrens consignment shop in town, wide and lovely selection, brands are much better than usual and the staff is sweet.
I apologize about this review - Im the owner of the store and was actually showing a customer how leave a goggle review and posted this by mistake. Obviously I like Sweetpeas, but Im biased because Im the owner. Thank you understanding.
As a non parent, I sometime need a little extra help shopping especially for gifts for my newest family members, Sweetpeas has great prices and the sales guy, named Scott who has always made me feel comfortable and supported. Thanks to Sweetpeas, my neices are well dressed and I can afford to spoil them with all the low prices! Thanks soo much, please never close.
Good selection and quality at appropriate prices
I live in the neighborhood and enjoy going to this store, but its a mixed bag of quality, pricing, and service. I guess you take the good with the bad.
Cute little shop
