Owner is crazy and dishonest. He shot his own father. He physically assaulted a well-known veteran, a friend of ours, & tried to cheat him, stealing from his property. He claims friendship - there wasnt after the assault over 10 years ago. Owners wife overcharges so check her addition when you get your bill. She freely admits it. The kitchen is not sanitary. Got sick last time we were here. She claims she is fundraising for a charity but she said she keeps the items and money for herself
Pretty average breakfast food. Service was good. Building is really run down and a bit dirty looking.

The food was tasty, the server/owner cordial and efficient. However, she had a kerchief around her neck, but at no time did she use it to cover her nose or mouth. Fortunately, we ate outside. Still . . .

Wish I could give zero stars. First off they got my order wrong and made me pay for a different order. I ordered pancakes with strawberries and a hash brown. Simple enough right? Apparently not. They gave me a plain pancake with absolutely nothing on it, no syrup. Nothing. Then my hash browns had absolutely no seasoning not even a pinch of salt. Thank goodness my fiance and i brought the food home and were able to season it ourselves. He said his eggs tasted very bland as well. How hard is it to throw some salt on there? Ridiculous. Its a wonder theyre still open.
The place offers a large range of fresh food. I enjoy eating here. The employees are always friendly, rates are convenient and the spot is always neat.

Quaint small town feel, Covid 19 precautions, well posted requirements for customers, menu is vast, we tried an omelkete and bacon burger - both excellent . Highly recommend this place in Penn Valley

Small cozy cafe, but way overpriced for the quality of food. And very small portions. I had 1 egg with a biscuit and gravy and ham. The ham slice was slightly bigger than a silver dollar. About a table spoon of scrambled eggs. And the biscuit tasted doughy! My granddaughter had a kids meal. My daughter had an egg muffin and my bill was $35. Totally ridiculous for a small town cafe!!! Drive a few more miles folks into Grass Valley.
The food was ok. Cooked perfect. Great service. But the price? $15.99 is the norm. Seems a bit high to me for basic breakfast.

A great place if a 10 dollar average waffle is in your budget. They are seemingly nice people but take complete advantage of the idea of breakfast convenience prices. Ill take taco bell over this place.

Blahhh, only breakfast in town which is sad. Overpriced. Service is hit or miss. Always leaving out some request or another but still charge you. They have left out avocado 4 times, hollandaise 3 times, double order of hashbrowns 2 times. The only reason I have gone back is its the only full breakfast place in town.
For 30 years Ive yet have a bad breakfast at the Daybreak. Reasonable and price always and Steve is an excellent chef.

Good attention from the staff, they have decaffeinated coffee, they fill the coffee cup as many times as you want, clean, good prices around 15 dollars per person. It is only open until 2pm. The bathroom is outside the restaurant and is for use by all locals who do not have a bathroom included. If you want to wash your hands you have to go outside the restaurant. The delicious sandwich sourdough I recommend it. The strawberry sauce in the pancake great.
