Honesty! Thats why you want to go here! My mothers brakes were making a grinding sound. I thought all four brake pads in all four rotors needed to be replaced. When I called them, they told me if I bring it in right away, I may not need rotors. That statement right there is what brought me in. They tried to save me money before I even went in. Unfortunately, it was too late for the rotors. Which is fine. She shouldnt have been driving like that for so long. Her fault not theirs. They could have just replaced all the rotors, and told me that they had to be done. They didnt though. They only replaced the front ones, because they said the back ones were fine. This just proves that this is a good shop! Next time I need my brakes done, Im coming here, and Im recommending them to literally everyone I know!

I had a Terrible problem w shaking in my front end needed... front tires, tie rod end and a control arm... They took good care of me. Reasonably priced, honest service and done in a timely manner... Highly recommended

My brake lines dumped everything out of the master cylinder. Got my car towed in and was called with follow up throughout repairs. They fixed it quickly (24 feet of new brake lines on my 17 year old car), including a dodgy fuel filter I was aware was a problem. Didnt try to sell me services I didnt need and I will happily go back and recommend them to others.

I was just switching summer wheels to winter. The guys got me in the bay within 15mins and the price was the cheapest.

Brought my vehicle in to them in June (2020) because brakes were grinding. They supposedly replaced the front brake pads, never inspected the rear brakes. Over phone said the estimate would be 100 less than what I paid at check out. Okay fine, but now it is sitting at firestone, and needs front and back brakes just 3 months later. That is going to cost me almost $700 for new brakes on front and back, due to the brake shop, not inspecting the front and back to make sure it i didnt need back brakes as well. They talk a good game and are friendly as can be to gain your trust, and now I am having to pay a second time for new brakes in just 3 months. I would not recommend a child bringing a bicycle to these guys to fix.

The Brake Shop did a fantastic job on my Truck, doing involved repair that other shops had refused. The work was done quickly, with as much cost effectiveness as could be achieved. Also there was communication about the progress of my vehicle at every step of the repair process. The transparency and explanation of the work performed is outstanding. I also believe that they went above and beyond in areas where they did not have to. I am very impressed, am confident in the work quality and would recommend this location.

Went in on a Saturday at noon to get a quote for brakes on a 2013 Ford Taurus. I was given a quote after they showed me exactly what needed to be fixed. They were able to get the work done the same day by 3pm. Very customer oriented and thorough! I would recommend this place to family and friends. Went to The Brake Shop this morning to get a second quote on some rear brake replacements. The owner was very knowledgeable and gave me a fair price. His mechanic, John, did an amazing job cleaning and installing the new rear brake kit. No more noise or grinding. My new favorite shop.

Gary was extremely helpful and squeezed me in for some last minute repairs that I needed done ASAP! He also did everything he could to work with me on the cost as I was not able to afford much at the time. We needed to do the back brakes and one rotor for returning a lease vehicle. We got a good price and was done very fast, it was completed in half a day and did not have to wait for a long time. Dropped the car in the morning and got the call midday that the car was ready to be picked up.

I left the shop a very satisfied person .They did a great job, my car driver so smooth.It feel like Im driving a luxury car.He even show my my old parts and explain services he provided. The shop accept cash, credit cards, and has easy pay finance which is very helpful to me since Im a part time worker.

This was my first trip to this repair facility. The people here are very friendly and will take the time to explain what needs to be done. I like that. I had my 07 Taurus brake lines repaired and a couple of other issues that they saw needed to be fixed (and yes, they actually did need to be fixed). These guys are honest. They didn’t do any repairs without asking me first and they even asked me if I wanted my old parts back. That is very rare. The prices are reasonable and they even called me to follow up on my visit with them. I’ve already given 2 referrals to friends for this place and so would recommend them and tbh I don’t think I’ve ever given any mechanic a 5 star rating and you don’t find very many mechanics that are on the level. I was visiting my hometown of Taylor and had just drove in from NJ. I thought that I had a brake leak issue but instead it was a transmission cooling failure (all trans fluid had leaked out). I found the Brake Shop on line, saw the reviews and decided to give them a try. I dont know a thing about cars or brakes or anything mechanical and because I was told that I needed brakes these guys could have took me for a ride, but they didnt. Many people in their line of business would have, but they were very honest. Not only were they honest, they also gave me a lesson by showing me exactly why I did not need brakes. They where a great help and didnt charge me anything. They showed me that they couldnt do the wheel alignment because there was no adjustment for the rear. Will us them again on the other 4 vehicles that we have.

After inspecting and diagnosing my car the mechanic thoroughly explained and showed me everything he found and was able to then accurately describe the reasoning for recommendations on the needed repairs. Where do I begin? I was looking to get new brake pads and rotors and was expecting to pay $260 upward to get my vehicle back to being safe. Took my car in to get a second opinion on brakes. I was told from another shop that I needed brakes and they were at the minimum. Come to find out from the brake shop that I didnt need brakes yet and they were not at the minimum either. He even showed me how they are measuredI will be taking my car back. They couldve easily just said that I needed brakes also, but they didnt. They were honest and told me it was my choice if I wanted to do them know or wait.

I left firestone up the street on Allen road because they said that they couldn’t get the caliber off my front right side brake which sounded odd especially when they quoted me one price and then tried to quote another so I left and came to the brake shop and they basically said they lied and showed me what really needed to be done for a real good price I recommend these guys to anyone who needs brakes or any other done to there car

Over a three to four year span I spent money on numerous wheels, rotating and balancing the tires, and alignments trying to find why my car had a slight shake. After a while, I gave up looking for the reason and just lived with it. Took it to The Brake Shop to have my brakes checked for an upcoming trip and mentioned the shake. They found that my rear passenger side wheel bearing was loose. Not only did they find it, they showed me the problem as well. The other Big Tire place never found this!!Now, my car rides as smooth as it did when I got it!! You can trust them to do the job right!!!

Dont get me wrong I know its a business and they have to make money in order to stay open. So I dont expect anything for free... When it comes to the work and parts. But the things you dont get anymore are priceless, things such as truly honest customer care. Truly, fair, honest pricing. Her car headset for years causing it to rust way more than it should have for its year. This caused all of the work that they had to do to take twice as long and twice as much effort. I know this because Ive wrenched a few times in my life.. every nut and bolt had to be either caught or torched off nothing came easy with this job. Romello kindly invited me in the back to show me what he was up against and pointed out the things that should be a concern in the not so immediate future. And he could have easily told me this needed to be done right now. Even though his team spent twice as long and twice as much effort doing the job he still stuck to the original price he gave me under the assumption that everything would come off and go back on as it should. 8 out of 10 people would have told me; unfortunately I had to do this this this and that therefore Im going to have to charge you more because of itNot these guys! I will go out of my way to refer them to anyone I come in contact with in need of a good mechanic. And I also feel like I made a friend, and at my age...42, we just dont have time for many new friends but that person went above and beyond for me and my mother and that is what friends do!They didnt just do a brake job they did her entire front end they made the impossible possible most places would have gave up. Bell tire told my mother to scrap the car and that they wouldnt touch it. If there was a such thing as a sixth star they would get it.

I would like to start by saying The brake shop of Taylor goes above and beyond to provide customer satisfaction with the service they provide. Ive taken my car to a different location in redford to have both rear calipers, all four brake pads, front right axle, thermostat, catalytic converter, and driverside headlight replaced, all in total with towing and missing work it had cost me about $2,800 and it had really put me in a bind for a car 10yrs old... Pretty much Ive been played and lied to end up paying for a thermostat and catalytic converter that I did not need. Well, soon after my repairs my car broke down due to problems with the axle and the shop in redford refused to take responsibility and instead billed me for the towing. After the 2nd axle my car was operatable but begin to send error messages by indicating warning lights to the dashboard. All at once the brake, abs, and traction lights came on, and I happened to be driving pass The brake shop of Taylor and decided to get a 2nd opinion from a different shop as my previous shop has lost my trust. On a Thursday The brake shop of Taylor had me scheduled to bring my car in for an inspection and diagnosis on Monday as my work schedule made it impossible for me to get my car to them any sooner, and the very next day on a Friday my job had shut down due to high winds and power shortage, Ive called The brake shop to see if they could possibly squeeze me in and express my concerns with the safety of my vehicle, unfortunately they were booked for the day and told me to stay off the road til they examine my car and asked for my number and promise to give me a call if an opening appears. Soon after Gary at the front desk gave me a call and told me to go ahead and bring my car in, and so I did. Mr mechanic in the back I cant remember his name.. very kind guy inspected my vehicle took about 30minutes and then Gary walked me into the bay to show me what they have found. Well, the calipers Ive had installed at a previous shop were from a junkyard and it had been spray painted to make it look new and were leaking brake fluids, my front brakes were in horrible condition, theyve reused the same rusted pins and did a poor job. The brake shop of Taylor walked me through all of their findings instead of just billing me up for an estimate, they even went as far as explaining how each parts of the brake system is suppose to function, and after hearing my story of all the work Ive gotten done recently they suggest I call the previous mechanic shop and to see what can I get resolved as those faulty parts were still under warranty. These guys are very honest, and professional and I can tell they take their job and customers safety serious. They arent out here like many other shops just looking to rip people off and to take advantage of hard work individuals trying to make their ends meet, once again the employees of The brake shop did not have to go as far as they did to explain all the problems my vehicle was having and suggest what I should do to save some money instead of getting it all done again with them, they couldve just billed me for an estimate but they didnt play me and were sincerely concerned and willing to help. I end up taking my car back to the previous shop and confronted them with this new information I had on my car. The previous shop end up replacing all my parts, and fixing the leak and all for free, thanks to the honest employees at The brake shop of Taylor. I will be keeping these guys in my back pocket for any future car problems and will always recommend these guys to friends and family having car issues. I did have to pay an inspection fee of course but not a diagnosis fee for the abs code reader, these guys were genuinely concerned and wanted to help. Thank you.

Took my truck in for a brake job. When I got it back, I had less pedal than before I took it in. Took it to another facility and they said the calipers were incorrectly installed, and something in the rear was not connected. They fixed the problem for about half of what the brake shop charged me. Cant say whos right or wrong, but I got plenty of pedal now. Wont go back there.

DO NOT GO HERE, I WOULD GIVE NO STARS BUT IT WANT LET ME!!! Had a diagnostic test done for $100. I was told nothing was wrong with my car, until I returned and started pointing out the problems that I complained about in the 1st place. Then I was told well they misunderstood the complaint.. then I was told that its not that bad to wait until a light come on and then bring it back.. I thought the purpose was to catch the problem before it became a major problem.. I like helping out family owned businesses but this one is a ripoff.. I basically gave them $100 for nothing... I guess Im more upset with myself.. when I arrived by the look of the place I almost didnt leave my car but I know something is wrong and figured need to get it done, better safe than sorry.. I should have followed my first thoughts...Update...How you respond to reviews speak a lot about your character. I know people that I have gone to your shop and the service was fine, they did only come to you for brakes, which may be the issue. For me it was not. I did not need a diagnostic test for my complaint. The idling was not the major complaint. (It was the noise the car made which masked the idling. Once the noise was fixed the idling went to normal.) That was my problem with your service. They told me nothing was wrong with my car until I got there and pointed out the problem and they responded... oooooh... I was charged for a service I never needed and then they kept trying to explain themselves and told me to come back if a light come on, which you should try to fix the problem before it become a major problem. But thats ok, I took my vehicle to BelleTire whom identified the problem and repaired it right away. And it was a gasket on the exhaust.but may God bless you and your business.. like I said some people you do great for, I was recommended by one of your customers but you did not do great for me. Instead of trying to respond in such a nasty way to post that dont like your service, try to find a resolution. Respond and thank those that like your service as well. As a business owner you should know better..

I talked to who Gary on the phone. He is responsible. His Boss Romelo(however you spell his name) I am taking to court. This business SUCKS!! Ill never go to any business that this man ownes again! Im considering having a friend of mine shut down the whole shop because this man is wasting my time in court as well as actual court themselves! I was going to just take my truck from them but all the people I spoke with said that was a bad idea at the time. I end up calling a few lawyers and one told me if I am in the right to just pay it off and get my money back later. So I paid it off and somewhat am in need of this money. I have had offers to go on Judge Mathis, Judy, etc. And he wont go on the show because he knows he is wrong! I will not let people get away with this type of behavior period!! I have been taking advantage of on petty things in the past all to much and this WILL NOT BE something that gets past me! I tried being nice and Frank with Romelo who sais he wasnt born in this country and according to Gary has several other businesses that have closed down. My other mechanic I go to said this man is a crook!! He sais guys like this open up shops, rip a bunch of people off until they get caught and then they move on to the next shop. It looks like this is what indeed is taking place!I could go on and on detail for detail on how much stress this has caused me. Horrible place!!!!! my husband took my hhr there for new brakes.....after all the extras the scammed cost me $500......three weeks later the front brakes are rubbing and the back brakes are squealing horribly. Took back, said the fixed it.....two weeks later and my brakes are doing the same thing and now my tired locked up to where i cant even drive my car....dont waste your money!!!! it will cost you alot more in the long run, go to someone who knows what they are doing!!!
