This place is phenomenal! It deserves much more recognition than it already does. I visit this place often. I love the quality of food and the variety. The breakfast and cafe con leche always ‘deliver’! Their lunch and other hearty entrees…outstanding! The customer service always warm and welcoming!Don’t forget the variety of empanadas!

5 guineitos and carne guisada… dry. No red onions (which I asked for but I think she forgot) no nothing else. $10.99!!! PER PLATE! and to top it off, there’s no flavor. I’m not talking about salt. There’s no sofrito, there’s no oregano, there’s no nothing! It taste like cardboard soaked in beef broth with a little salt. And don’t get me started on this “cafe con leche”. It tastes like American coffee with creamer. It’s like dirty coffee water. No one giving this place a 5 star review has ever had Latin food. Not from back home (wherever home is for you, for me it’s Santo Domingo/Puerto Rico). This is so sad. I used to love my occasional trips to the bodega on the corner to get some guineitos and carne guisada. I think since they started getting a little more business cause of the Amazon they just built they have hiked up prices and lowered their quality. I should have gone to the 7Star up the road. Used to be a hidden treasure offering great food with large portions at an affordable price. Unfortunately, it seems that now that they are receiving more business the quality of food has gone down hill. You will be lucky if u get half of the food portion in your box.

I just ate here we are a family of 4. All of us shared the same experience we each got a pork pressed Cuban sandwich, we also got two deviled crabs, and two beef empanadas. When we pulled up the location was sketchy I’m sure one of my tires has a nail in it now because of the parking lot being under construction! Then the food first off I wasn’t able to communicate with the person making my sandwich she just repeated what I said. She forgot to add our pork that we pay extra for so she had to stuff it on our already pressed sandwich…etc long review short the food was gross we spent $50 and only the beef empanadas we’re good and they were only $4! Yo they got some of the best Cubans in the area. They also serve hot food in the back so yall need to get over there that food is so good been going here since 2007. Highly suggested from a Tampa native.

Convenience store with a Hot Food Kitchen and meat market in the back. Also serve espresso coffee. The food is good. I enjoy getting the Cuban, they even have a breakfast Cuban with eggs and bacon or sausage. You can also get a huge styrofoam plate with rice choice of beans and choice of meat for around $7 which will leave you with leftovers for sure.

You guys better fix yourselves. You’re about to get a lot of business from amazon. Your food is sub par at best and you need to fix your service tactics. Hope you take this as constructive. All you need is for someone to turn that closed down dry cleaners into a bodega with a better variety of Latin food, and call it cuchifrito.

Ive been in this place for many years because of their food. Ive seen my kids (now mans) going to East Lake just for the Cuban sandwich. The best for the price. For a few days I have been craving for a good Cuban and today I decided to go for one. I ended up with a 8 piece o bread, 3 slice of ham, 3 slice of tomato and some lettuce. No pork, no salami, no cheese. So I dont know if is a new management, or the new menu, or so. On top of that, the black beans were so salty that I couldnt eat it. Im writing this note for the sake of the business, thats all

We enjoyed our take-out Cuban food at home. The beef over yellow rice was tender and delicious. My husband had the pork dinner. A wonderful Cuban meal after a hard Days work was a great way to finish the day. Im so glad I found this place!

I have eaten there for many years and the last 3 times the food was inedible. Staff does not speak English and if you do not speak Spanish they get an attitude. I returned my food the next day after my last visit and told them I would never return. I cant trust a business where the staff sabotages your food.

Oh this place is awesome. If you looking for a place that feels like home or moms place. Then you need to stop by and grab some of the best home cooked meals I ever had.

Very good food but every time I go there it seems I get dry pork in my dinner and I have bad teeth. I explain that to them and if all the pork is dry they serve it to people anyways and anybody Spanish or Italian would know that it is very dry and very hard to chew so I hope that they can fix that problem I will mention it to the manager the next time I see her or otherwise known as the owner if Im correct. Hook me up on some good moist pork and you will get five stars from me.

I stop at East Lake Food Market in the mornings on the way to work when I get a chance and their hot foods are very good . Inside the store is a deli style counter where you can order all kinds of hot Latino style foods or sandwiches and their staff are very friendly. I highly recommend stopping and trying their food which is all made to go but they do have an area outside where they have picnic tables where you can eat also. I have been going to this place for years.

Great Latin food!! From sandwiches down to daily menu. I love this place and have been coming in here since they opened when I was a teen. The owners are nice enough. I would say this. They should at some point do some kind of customer appreciation. The local community has helped keep this business alive for years and not everyone speaks Spanish. I totally understand wanting to hire people from home but help them with their English. They have people taking orders the literally speak NO ENGLISH. Those are my ONLY suggestions.

Best hole in the wall ever. You get a ridiculous amount of food for super cheap. A majority of the cooks dont speak English well but they are very friendly and do their best to help you understand what the food is. When in doubt just point lol. Ive never been let down by this place and have rarely finished all they gave me because it is a very large portion.

They did make the best Cuban sandwich in Hillsborough county. The problem is, in the past month the size of the sandwich has been reduced by 1/3 and the price has gone up 15%. If you take into consideration both the size reduction and the price hick, the true price increase is a 72% price jump in one month. That is outrageous! They just lost several long time customers.

Ordered twice from them and twice they got my order wrong. Needless to say the literally only brought me half my order. The order that they DID bring me was substituted with random replacements. Black beans instead of red. Randomly got plantains. No courtesy call. So I called them, they told me if i want my sandwhich that I would have to drive to the store to go pick it up. In the end I got charged and only got half a meal. Terrible experience. Terrible service. Terrible courtesy. Twice. Never again.

I went in and was waiting for the pig feet that was still cooking, which is delicious by the way. As I was walking around and picking up more items, my mom called and she wanted something as well. I initially told them that I didnt need anything else. So then when I went to order a ham egg and cheese sandwich the one lady seemed upset that I ordered more food. So she started the sandwich. (Cliffnote, they have a container of already sliced meat and cheese next to the sandwich press.) She than goes into the hot case to get the old overcooked ham to put on my sandwich instead of the ham that I have watched them use for all the other sandwiches while I was waiting for my other entree. I told her nevermind and went to pay for the food I already had and the items I had picked up. That will be my last time going there. That was unprofessional and just plain nasty to do to someone that really likes the food that is served there. To everyone else there thank you for all the previous delicious food.

So my husband and I have been living in the area for about three months now, and always passed this place otw to grocery shop/work.. And I cannot tell you how much I regret not trying this place sooner.. I am mixed Mexican and my husband is mixed Cuban, and I really just must have not had good Cuban food (sorry husbands family..lol) but o was SHOCKED with the flavors of our meals! I have never had such good pork, and never had such good yuca. I ordered the stewed beef and it was so tender but still had its chew, plantains which were perfectly charred and not too sweet, and the rice was a good mild base for it all. Man, for sure this is our go to place from now on. Also, SOOOO CHEAP FOR SO MUCH QUALITY FOOD!!
