I went for an eye exam on April 16, 2021 and ordered a pair of trifocals eyeglasses. After I was informed the glasses would be ready in one to two weeks I called after two weeks and was told there was a problem in the lab. The glasses were not ready and someone in the office would call me back and inform me why the delay in delivery of my eyeglasses. No one ever returned my call. After three weeks, I went by the Texarkana Richmond Rd office and the eye glasses still were not ready and was told they were back ordered and would not be ready for another two to three weeks. I am informed the associate to please refund my money, I’d do business elsewhere. This after paying $913.00 for an exam and eyeglasses and a $233.00 copay for lenses and frames. Very poor customer service. Please read other customer reviews prior to patronizing this business. Very poor customer reviews. Employees are non-attentive and rude.

I am taking exam. I have the best eye insurance available. No copay. I arrive and they try to charge me a copay, then they try to upcharge me $20 just to put info into the computer. I have not even tried glasses yet, but something tells me this will be worse.

Horrible experience!!!!! If I could give less than 1 star, I would! Dont waste your time or money! I was told when I had my contact exam that I did not have insurance for it, which I knew. I had insurance for the glasses, which were fine. The lady that helped me gave me a discounted rate after she told me I did not have contact lens insurance, which I paid. Now, the office is sending me a bill for their balance even though their office personnel discounted it for me. I called the office, and I got the run around, of course. Then, after I got upset, I was told the office manager (and they gave her name) would call me back. Three months later, I am still waiting on the call back. I went through six pairs of contacts (apparently I am difficult to fit), and I ended up going to another clinic not associated with Texarkana Eye Associates, and I was fitted the first time! So, unless you can deal with a clinic that will not honor their employees word or take the time to call you back, dont go here. Just as an added word, this was not my first trip here, but it will definitely be my last one!

The eye exam was thorough but their prices on eyeglasses and lenses are too high to be covered by insurance. I called to ask about a possible order. They told me they would call me back...they didnt. Americas best will be my next choice.

Apparently this clinics office staff cant enter in patient data very well and when you have to call multiple times to get it fixed you get to speak to the office manager who is a male chauvinist who wont even let a woman complete a thought before he jumps all over you for not letting him speak this man is not professional at all please find a doctor with a better staff....Have filed a HIPAA complaint as I was told by office manager its not their job to make sure they have patients information correct....

Great Doctors! Poor business practices! Long story short. Started out as always at the Mt. Pleasant office. Eye exam and an order for 2 pair of glasses. Glasses came in wrong. Re ordered them, Covid hit, no communication. Glasses came in several months later, wrong again. Patsy sent me to Texarkana office to have eyes re checked and glasses made again. Glasses came in and were shipped to my house on UPS. Never received them, delivered to wrong house. Filed a claim with UPS to no avail because shipper would not file a claim nor help in any way. The people that answer the phone will not help you nor give you any name or number to call to get help. You can reach no one that has anything to do with the business! This could have been easily solved with a little communication and someone at there end that cared! Instead Im out $ 1,070.00 and 2 pair of glasses. I tried but Texarkana Eye Associates did not!

I’ve had chronic migraines on a weekly basis for several years. Thanks to Dr.McColley, it has been 14days and counting. He explained every procedure throughout my appointment and made a plan for the long term concerning my prescription. The facility is very clean and is stocked very well. They have one of the largest selections of frames that I’ve ever seen. They are reasonably priced as well. Honestly though, Dr. McColley and his attention to detail and comfort makes Texarkana Eye Assosiates the number one choice for eye care.

I was able to make my appointment online at the Nashville office. A definite plus. When I arrived the staff was very friendly and greeted me with a smile. I was back with the doctor about 5 minutes after I filled out the paperwork. Exam was very quick but thorough. They priced matched my contacts with the normal online folks and actually got me a better deal with their discounts. They also threw in a pair of polarized sunglasses of my choice. They said my contacts would be there in about a week so they gave me a trial pair. Well it has been 5 days since my appointment and they called today and let me know my contacts have arrived.I have been telling everyone about Texarkana Eye Associates and I will continue to do so. Thank you so much for a great experience. I will be back next year for another round.

STAFF: On are last visit the lady that we had to pay had only been there since January. She warned me my glasses would have thick lenses and brought out, some lens that were roughly 1/4 Thick and told me my vision was worse than that! Having warned glasses all my life and never had thick glasses I started to worry. She then informed me my vision had gotten worse, but my wife asked her how much worse, and when she went to look it up it had gotten better, and since I currently dont wear anything close to a bottle cap we knew she was lying and said lets go ahead and get them. At this point she said Well at least your getting contacts to. and rolled her eyes very obvious like. I personally think she is showing people non refractive lenses and perhaps just needs to be better educated on the technical things.Quality: When we got are glasses my wifes glasses didnt work she simply could not see with them.Exams: Exams are normally really rushed, I like things being quick, but I cannot read and eyechart when you just flashed a light in my eye. I found myself continually saying hold on, or just a second. This is the only place I have ever had to do something like that.I have used them before and the problems werent bad yet. The place had potential to do amazing things, but the staff is getting worse.

From my first reception to leaving I was treated with professionalism and a genuine concern for my eye health. Their cost was competitive but their service far surpassed the price I paid. I will continue to use their services and tell anyone in need of eyeware to go to Texarkana Eye Associates.I made a big mistake however in providing my own frames-bad idea. I was fully explained that my frames had no warranty but I was trying to save money.....yes they broke soon after, I should have listened to the pros.

Horrible. They put scratch proof lens on my glasses and after 2 weeks I couldnt even see out of them. Theyre just in it for the money and are scamming people. They wouldnt do anything about it either. Plus the frames I bought are cheaply made and I paid $400 for them! I am definitely not going back and I recommend others watch out when buying their glasses.

My daughter who is disabled had an appointment here. Worst decision ever! She was seen by Elfin W. Fenton, O.D. and hes very rude. While telling me about different things, such as an eye exam for my daughter, he said its ONLY $23 or however much it was. He said that about the new type of eye exam. Everything was ONLY (x) amount of dollars. Then he was acting frustrated when I said no thank you. Also, there were like 10 people that work there just standing chit chatting instead of seeing if we needed assistance. I wouldnt refer this place to anyone. Wasted my daughters annual exam.

I came to this location while in town. I normally live in Georgia but really needed to be seen while on a long vacation in the Texarkana area. The front desk staff and nurses were great. However, I did feel rushed by the doctor. Ive never had an eye exam before and once he told me what my problem was, he didnt do anything to explain it. Again, Ive never had an eye exam before and Im completely unfamiliar with contacts and glasses. So, he sends me out to the sales staff to purchase glasses. I cant remember her name but our sales lady was great. She was very patient with my husband and me. While shopping for glasses my eyes are completely dialated so I cant really tell what looks alright (wished they would have prepared me for that and I couldve looked before hand) As Im trying on glasses, the contact that the doctor just popped in falls out. Again, inexperienced and Im feeling a little overwhelmed at this point. So I go back to the training area where every person I spoke to was shocked that the dr didnt explain anything about my contacts or my diagnosis. The two women in training were patient and helpful. I went back out to the sales floor and finally selected a pair of glasses. They were able to have them ready next day. However, no extra options were even mentioned to me. I didnt even know things like scratchless lenses or anti glare lenses were even an option until I read about it online days later. After spending $350 on glasses, it would have been nice to know additional options. Im pretty disappointed about the overall experience. Obviously, were from out of town but I couldnt positively recommend this practice to someone based on my experience.EDIT- so Im editing my review from a 3 to an 5. I had an issue with my glasses and I had to send them back. Then, I had an issue with my contacts and they handled the whole situation with grace. They explained some of the issues I had and apologized for my first experience.

I am 66 years old and have had poor eyesight most of my life. I cant read the big E on the eye chart, and I have double vision in my left eye. I wore special contacts for the past two years, so I had good distance vision but couldnt read anything up close without putting on cheaters to read. I was frustrated with having to constantly wear cheaters throughout the day, so when Dr. McColley told me that they were going to be testing contact lenses that allowed the reading component to be increased to 4.00 instead of the maximum of 1.75 that my current lenses allowed, I jumped at the chance to try them. Dr. McColley was extremely patient as he worked me through the process of finding the right combination for my distance and reading settings. However, the increase in the reading setting caused me to lose clarity on my distance eyesight, and I could no longer see clear enough to drive at night. Dr. McColley kept working with the settings, and I am happy to report that I can now read up close and still see clearly at a distance! I can never thank Dr. McColley enough for having the patience and thoroughness to work through my vision frustrations to find a solution for my total vision. I highly recommend Dr. McColley and Texarkana Eye Associates for all your vision needs. Thank you, Dr. McColley!

I recently had an issue with getting contact lenses here in el paso, after moving from Texarkana, last October. The issue being that I am an Army Veteran that lives off of 1800 dollars a month, and a full time student at the University of Texas at El Paso, that has just ran out of contact lenses. My lense prescription is expired as of last month. I reached out to Texarkana Eye Associates to see if they would verify my prescription with my new optomitrist, even though it was expired. Initially, I was turned down, causing me to write a message to TEA and questioning their logic on this decision. Dr. Fenton messaged me immediately upon finding out,and set things right so I may get a pair of lenses until I am able to pay for my eye exam after the first of December. It has been terrible not being able to see nor pay for the things I need and I am so greatful that TEA actually does care! Thanks so much.

I really did love the service, the kindness, the answers to my questions.Dr. Fenton and Dr. Summers are both very personable and also extremely professional.I had switched to them because the Dr. I had gone to for years is now semi-retired. I already had glaucoma and was receiving treatment for it, but on my first visit Dr. Fenton diagnosed me with macular degeneration. Not something anyone wants to hear, but I am glad it was discovered in the first stages.Their examinations are VERY thorough, to the point of are we through yet? (LOL), and they have the most amazing array of testing equipment, I think my mouth fell open as the tech and I kept going from exam room to exam room!I have no complaints, and I am very glad I chose Texarkana Eye Associates.Irene Squib
