The owner is a joke. When someone calls and wants to rent a spot from out of town, take that order. Dont just give it to the next person. Very disrespectful. DONT USE THEM

I moved to Texarkana recently and my moving truck made it here before my house was ready. I rented a storage unit from another location that said they could accommodate semi moving trucks. The day the truck arrived I found out differently. I called around and Lockaway had a large unit available and the moving truck could unload easily. The young lady in the Lockaway office was so helpful and made my move so seemless after the problems I had. The unit was the perfect size, a safe and secure location, and I was able to get into it at any time. Thank you for your excellent service.

Easy, safe access. Clean, and well maintained. Offers a variety of unit sizes, as well as parking of larger vehicles.

Oh, sure, the staff are friendly. Well, that is when youre renting a unit, a truck, buying boxes, or making a payment on your rental unit. But, dont be surprised if she wont even speak to you when shes riding her little cart around while youre working in your unit.Here is the deal. While this is a convenient location to have ones storage unit for residents in PG ISD, its got some problems. Units which are not climate controlled all have tendencies to grow blankets of mold on stored belongings here. I know 4 people who rent(ed) here, and each of them lost many of their belongings when mold began growing inside these closed units, and it took a strong foot-hold onto their property, probably from moisture relating to our humidity, and that of rainfall, and that from hard to pin-point leaks and drips and construction problems. Im talking mold growing into and over everything from wood to books to boxes to artwork to clothing. You name it. Mold covered. This is not an acceptable problem. Its just going to ruin everything you store in here.Then, theres the rent. Sure. It sounds reasonable at first. But that free month, that is the only month you wont notice the mold. Afterwards, your things are in for it. While you leased your unit at one rate, over time, you may expect numerous price hikes, along with emails purporting these are due to tax rate increases. But, we havent had tax rate increases that can account for the variation in my rent over the last few years. Taxes havent increased by 50%...not in ten years or 20.But year after year, your rent will increase and increase and increase five or six more times. While mine started at $99/mo., its currently almost $150/mo. Thats now almost $150/mo. for the exact same unit I rented a few years ago at the more reasonable rate of $99/mo.Keep in mind these price hikes are not getting you more space, more protection for your belongings, more surveillance cameras monitoring the comings and goings, or any upgrades to mold making heated metal boxes to climate controlled storage. Theyre not getting you more access, say from the 24/7 access to a laughable 36/24/7. You dont get more electricity, more lighting, or even better cleaning up around your unit.All you get is ripped off more. Sorry to tell it so roughly, but this is honestly just exactly how it has been for me here (and for at least 4 people I know who rented here, too).Dont store anything here that you wish to be kept clean of mold. Period.
