Hello all at Area 51 Auto! Many thanks for my experience at your shop. I took my 2006 Acura in to have timing done. I spoke with the head mechanic, Brent, about other concerns I was having. He asked me some basic and detailed questions then asked me to leave my phone number. He called me the very next day with a full diagnosis of what he found. Brent discussed with me in terms I was comfortable with what he recommended I do. Knowing that my car is used with well over 100k miles I was concerned about cost. Brent then explained what we could do, other then timing belt, to get the most out of my repair cost versus the expected longevity of my car. We were able to address all of my concerns within the budget I thought was reasonable ( I never told him what I was comfortable spending). 3 days later, I am back in my car and have never been happier driving it.I understand why the shop is called Area 51 Auto, the service and straightforward approach I received was indeed out of this world!My car was returned to me CLEANER then when I brought it!! Now that I have paid the man, I can admit to you readers, my bill was MUCH cheaper then the quotes I had from other shops, independent and dealerships.Keep up the excellent work, I will never go anywhere else...ThanksYou new and loyal customer

My experience at Area 51 Auto was stellar! I needed to get my van inspected for its yearly registration, so I just decided to drive towards the Tax Assessor-Collectors office and find a place on the way. Being a science fiction fan, the name of the shop certainly was intriguing. I pulled in and went inside. I was greeted immediately by a smiling and pleasant office staff who informed me that they could inspect my car immediately. I found the waiting area to be comfortable and well-appointed. I enjoyed casual conversation with the office manager while my car was inspected. I passed the inspection with flying colors and was back on the road in no time to go get that inspection sticker. If youre in the Texas City area and looking for a good car repair shop, Area 51 Auto is the place to go!!

My girlfriends car got submerged in water thanks to Tropical Storm IMELDA! None of the car mechanics in Texas city or surrounding area were able to help us. Called Area 51 and Brent proceeds to tell us to rush the car to the shop.So we did. Less than 2 days our car is BACK RUNNING and functional. We can’t thank him enough and his prices were BETTER than anyone near Galveston county. If you want a car shop that you can trust this is the only one I would recommend.

Who ever answers the phone is rude. I asked how much would it be to replace the wheel bearings on a 2011 Chevy Aveo. She proceeds to say Chevy Aveo and I say a 2011 Chevy Aveo and she says A WHAT ?! and I hung up. That’s very rude .

Bogus Reviews!! If you want honest reviews then READ ONE. Ive been riding in my friends vehicle many, many, many times and its been a nice drive.. The vehicle was taken in for A repair after reading the reviews and paying $$$, we drove off, But the vehicle was having major convulsions so immediately we took it back. Why did they hand over the vehicle like that? Were told Ill fix it, something is loose.. Next day we were told they fix this, it could be that, it is that or it may be this by different individuals. How can a mechanic take a vehicle apart and troubleshoot, not know how to put it back then Guess what may or may not be whats wrong with it And not have a clue, Guessing game is not the way of a Mechanic after youve just got paid for a repair which disabled the vehicle.. Good News, vehicle is Now with an established mechanic and once the issue is known then they will know too!!! ****Please dont take your car to a mechanic that says It could be this or ??

Asked them to work on my car after an accident, and after it was all said and done, I was advised that it needed x, y, and z done or I may lose the ability to steer while driving. None of this was mentioned in the initial quote. After dishing out almost $1K, I felt robbed!!!!
