I want to give this bakery a good review because I love their bread and the system they have is pretty efficient but the last 2x I’ve been there they have been closed during regular hours. I went 30 mins before closing last week but they were cleaning and 1.5 hrs before closing on a Wednesday night and there was no one on sight, maybe they had an emergency?Now to their products, I could live on their taro bread for the rest of my life and all their other bread is very good and affordable for a mall location. The smoothies and all the drinks really are great, but because they were closed I’ve not been able to satisfy my cravings. Please update your hours and don’t close if it’s supposed to be open.

Ive been here a few times and everything is always delicious and soft. Expect to wait in a long line, this is a SUPER popular spot. My only criticism is that the savory offerings are all really sweet. The jalapeno cheese bread was filled with a sweet cheese, making it almost like a jalapeno cheesecake filling. Same thing with the hot dog roll, you could tell that a notable amount of extra sugar was added. Overall everything is very well made but the sweetness could definitely be toned down for the savory items.

Love the variety of bakeries and drinks offer. I miss the Taiwanese style bakery and 85C has it all. Not to mention the cakes, too! They always have fresh made bakery ready all the time!

OH. MY. GAWD. DO NOT go to this place if youre on a diet. DO NOT go to this place if youre swearing off of sweets. This place is THE BOMB!! My first trip here and I bought over $50 worth. Most are light, airy and just a hint of sweetness. VERY TASTY. My diet is SO SCREWED. I hope heaven is like this. ❤

Nice selection of little treats. When the tea is fresh brewed and the pastries baking, this place smells wonderful.Clearly hours are impacted by the slow recovery from the pandemic (opens later than Seattle area locations and closes earlier).Egg tarts are a Portuguese pastry that took off in Asia and their version is excellent.Bread from here stays fresh and can be used a variety of ways. I like toasting the wheat / raisin / walnut loaf for breakfast.They do offer cakes and more extravagant special occasion baked goods too.Limited seating in shop or near Nordstrom are available.

Constantly refilling the racks with fresh warm pastries wrapped up on trays and you walk through with a box and grab what you want then hit the registers. Such a great spot

Wow. Im glad I dont live close to 85C - Id gain sooo much weight. Amazing selection, service and price. These pastries were so good they lasted less 2 days (between 3 of us - and we were trying to restrain ourselves). With Covid protocols in place, there could be a wait and its worth the wait.

I came here on a whim not realizing how popular this place is. It’s located near an exit door of the mall which is great right now. There are clear markers on the floor to form a line and there will be a line even when they open.You won’t think you need a box, but you will want one. Everything is labeled and individually wrapped. It also all looks delicious. The drinks menu is pretty extensive, too. The case has delicious cakes and sweets but I already had a box full of goodies.

This place offers a variety of cakes, along with pastries, cookies and sandwiches. Be sure to stop early in the morning for a cup of coffee or tea. It gets busy in the morning and during lunch. Located inside a mall, super popular.

Beautiful bakery with some delicious-looking beverages. I got the rose cheese cake and the chocolate roll cake. Both were good, but the rose cake was my favorite. They have so many pastry options, both sweet and savory. I happened on their store by chance, but Ill be going there again.

Beautiful desserts, but unfortunately they lack flavor. I tried the chocolate cake, very chocolatey, not very sweet. Blueberry cheesecake was pretty but again not very sweet at all, and you could not taste any blueberry. Red velvet, again was tasteless, and not sweet at all. The mango cake was very light and moist, but you could barely taste the mango. Also not very sweet.And last was the black forest cake, it was moist, and the cherry filling was tart, the cake was light, but again not very sweet, This one was probably the best of all we tasted. I did not try any of the other breads or pastries, so I cant say anything about those. I realize some people dont like things very sweet, but if you are going to spend so much time on beautifully decorating these cakes, I think they should have more flavor, and be a little sweeter.After all we love Cake because its sweet.BonnyPastry chefCake lover

I loved all the fluffy perfect bakery treats best I ever seen its like a dream long lines but didnt like how they assumed I wanted to carry out two big boxes and no big bags what the hell we are in a mall and I offered not the employee to use their smaller bag and they charged me 20 cents, but I had to break a twenty for the twenty cents because they didnt offer me a bag on the first purchase

I been there couple times ! Before I usually asking the shopping bag ! This time the fat guy who serves refuse me gave bag ! I told him last time the Asian lady gave me ! Arrived there at 5:20pm. The close hour is 6:00pm. But the store is closed without any notice! Staff is still inside and loading food to shelf! But just ignore us! It is very disappointing!

The cookies that I purchased were good. However, I dont well with cream cheese stuffed sweets or breads. Also, plain bread was ok.

This place needs more cashiers during the lunch rush. Get ready to wait in a slow long line. The pasteries are OK. Not worth the wait. Visit during slow hours. One of the pasteries we ordered was doughy and under cooked. The place was clean. The tables in the mall are more confortable to sit at. I enjoyed the savoury pastry options.

Wonderful bakery with some of the best treats you can get around here! If youre not sure what to try I highly recommend anything with taro in it! Also their tarts are to die for!

This is certainly a great place if you crave Asian-style bakery items, as it carries a pretty good selections of them, which may not be readily available elsewhere.Its worth noting, though, that there is usually a crowd with a line for the checkout, and that the shelves can be emptied out before the actual close hour of the store. So, be there early and expect a bit of waiting while going thru the checkout.

Food is amazing, like is very quick and the setup inside might feel cramped but makes the experience efficient. Very fair prices as well.

Finally a 85c Degree in the Portland Oregon area... We recently came from SoCal Los Angeles which 85c Degree is a must visit weekly-monthly base bakery and finally it has arrived!!!! Along with Ding Tai Fung, and the Taiwanese drink shop, the trio Taiwanese store is perfect need for Taiwanese people here!!! Now we just need a Boiling Point, Daiso, and Shisengumi Ramen here lol.

Amazing you must stop by! I suggest their mango coconut pearl drink and literally any of their food.

They also have a beautiful assortment of different cakes (by the slice or whole) and custards. Theres always a line to get in but dont let that deter you from staying cause it moves fast and they are worth the wait. Cheers!

Go early. Anytime after 3pm and your selection will be very slim. Lines are always long but flow fairly quickly. Like I said, go early and you wont have an issue.

Very fair prices, somewhat interesting selection (lots of western pastries, many Asian pastries I had never seen before). The coffee was tasty but nothing special. The portions were enormous. Good place to go to get a wide selection of new and fun things for a conference or get together. Four stars because the quality to price ratio is high, but dont expect amazing food.

Very affordable grab and go pastry. Lines are long but we went on a weekday. The egg tart had flaky edges but soggy bottom. The savory foods were delicious albeit the dough tasted tough and overworked. The strawberry cake seemed like it was frozen premade lower than store quality food. That being said we got 5 things for $12, so... it was very good for the price. Im curious about the breads and want to compare them to TLJ.

Worst customer service Ive ever experienced. The cashier told me unfortunately no we dont take cash, unfortunately you cant use the public restrooms, unfortunately the only bag we offer is a bag that will cost you a couple bucks and aggressively stating unfortunately we are at capacity and you will step out side and wait till you are called. Unfortunate for them ill be taking my business to another small business and ill be sure to communicate my experience with 85c bakery at Washington Square mall with all of my friends and family that have been known to buy from that store.

Great pastries. The taro bun is fantastic. The savory sausage buns are excellent. The strawberry delech drink is very good.

A great, Asian-style bakery. Amazing pastries, both sweet and savory. The spicy sausage is my favorite. The prices are such that it encourages taking a chance. The desserts are crazy good. I usually leave with a slice of tiramisu or espresso cake. Light, not too sweet and perfect after dinner. The service is efficient, keeping the product fresh and stocked and the line moving. Covid-safe to boot.

Yesterday was over 20 people waiting to pay, but only one cashier, I waited about 20 minutes, I ordered Cafe, smooth and some breads,I want to get a water, the guy said no water, and then a cup of water on the counter, I asked the guy is it water? The guy said the water is $0.35😂,and then I paid 35 cents to get a water

Very good and very affordable! They have a variety of breads varying from sweet to savory. My personal favorites are the garlic French breads and some of the chocolate ones. They have interesting flavors though like Taro and mocha breads. Cream cheese filled sweet breads, etc. Theres been some here and there that I wasnt a fan of personally but if youve been curious about this place, Id say definitely go for it! The stuff in the glass case can be a bit spendy but otherwise looks amazing!

The staff were great but it’s unacceptable that I cannot leave a tip for them, especially in a pandemic. Management needs to fix this. That is outrageous.

Tried a lot of different pastries here and they really dont stand up to the hype. I found they use a lot of the same bland weird cream cheese inside their pastries. The only thing I order here are egg tarts because those are very good. Their selection of desserts behind the counter are good but expensive for what they are, but the pastries you get yourself are not great at all. Also tried a pudding tea and it wasnt flavorful compared to the other boba kiosks. If you are looking for Asian style pastries, I HIGHLY recommend Tous Les Jours and Oyatsupan, both in Beaverton.

Ive noticed that many popular bakeries/restaurants are super overhyped but do not deserve it, I just dont see anything special about them. They are repeats of other food chains and honestly taste the same. But 85C delivers and man do they deliver well. You get quality and UNIQUE snacks/bread/drinks for the price, and staff never falls short of being super polite especially during the pandemic. Go there and support one of Oregons best bakeries.

I love this place and it is my favorite bakery. I prefer this because of the authentic asian taste and not one single american bakery reaches my standards because they are so sweet! So sad that I live far from here but every time we come to Washington Square we always stop by and some items here. My favorite is the egg tart and pork sung bao but I havent been able to find the pork sung bao recently :( Their cakes are really tasty, especially the mango creme brulee and tiramisu. I hope they will restock more choices in the future.

OH MY GOODNESS this place is SOOOOO good!! Their coffee is extremely lacking so get that from somewhere else, but everything else I have had from 85C is SOOO good that it demands this 5* rating.

The one star is simply to reflect the terrible management during the 10 people limit and the huge line that forms and takes forever simply bc none of the employees do their job and actually regulate the line and people will literally just stand there forever and not move. Needless waste of time.

This happened today I experience worst customer service ever. I placed a double cheesecake online 6 days ago. When I went in and employee told me they are no long doing that cake and have me pick another cake from the counter display. There was no call, no email to notify me that my cake isnt available to pick up.

First of all I must say, what I ended up getting was delicious (even though the cream cheese jalapeno bun had too many jalapenos).The second point though is the reason for the score.They dont have traditional croissants! Only chocolate - gross 😭Then when I ordered a coffee not one employee asked if I wanted cream and sugar and there was none out for self-serve - I assume because of Corona. But someone should have asked me, if theyre not going to have self-serve available. I couldnt go back because, they were too busy. So, I had to choke down an unsweetened Americano. 😰

Worked here for 3 days pre covid, terrible place to work, bread is not fresh, not one bit. Frozen bread, not fresh. Understand the difference. Also you eat enough you’ll develop a tape worm. Have fun 85 and remember to always say “FRESH BREAD” with a smile on your face😌

Unless you go early at open, theres usually a line to get in. And everything they make is very sweet, even things that are supposed to be savory... Its like they use the same dough for all there treats.

The quality of their pastries is unmatched. Always a big line even in this pandemic so go early to slip the lines. You simply cant go wrong with any of their pastries. Have not been disappointed.
