Got 4 reels lined with new fishing line. And 2 muskie quick sets.and 2 steel leaders. Cost 122.00. Thats over 90.00 for line. Too much right ?

Came here to get a new mini jig and have braid put on my spinning reel. I loved the interior of the store but when I took my rod and reel fishing I ended up having to take all of the braid off of my reel. There was so much line twist with every single cast that I made no matter how heavy the lure. Very disappointing. (For reference, I was charged $12 for this line to be put on my reel just for it to go to waste)

Nice small shop, attendant (possibly the owners) was cool and knowledgeable. Didnt try to up sell me. Prices are also very fair. Would recommend and will be going back for my fishing needs.

Purchases two new Okuma trolling reels, not from The Fishing Connection, but had the owner provide me advise on what line would be appropriate for walleye and early season Coho trolling with my setup. About a year ago I moved from Cleveland to the South Suburbs of Chicago. Anyone that moves a decent distance from home would agree that replacing stores or services they have grown accustomed too is difficult. However, after I found Fishing Connection I crossed finding a new fishing store off the list.They are beyond helpful and IMO have set a new standard for customer service. Since the day I walked in I have purchased rods, reels, and countless pieces of tackle. The man that owns this place is very knowledgeable and an avid fisherman himself. I’m from Kentucky and stopped in due to my fiancé telling me about this place. I was in heaven. He has so much to choose from and a very wide variety of lures,rods, reels etc. it was very nice. I think the best part was that here I am close to Chicago and he sells handmade tackle from my small little hometown in Morehead Ky. That was just so neat to see. Of course I had to purchase at least one. I purchased several lures mostly for musky fishing and I also bought my fiancé one of his Christmas gifts from here. I bought a Lews rod for him and he absolutely loved it. It was very nice finding this place and I plan to return in February or March whenever my fiancé is back to work up there as he travels a lot for work. This is the top rated fishing store by far and the gentleman that owns it is very nice and VERY knowledgeable. Don’t miss out on this one if your in the area!
