Came to Hamada for a late and early birthday meal and had a great time. Our cook was singing and making everyone a part of the show. The fried noodles are amazing as well as the chicken fried rice. We had shrimp, golden shrimp,steak, and chicken. Everything was really good. Come with an appetite as the portions are huge! I ate as much as I could and still brought home enough for lunch tomorrow!
I always love coming here,Ive been coming to this location over 10 years now and Ive always had a wonderful time.Great spot to dine in.!!I actually took my father out to this location last month for his birthday.And we had a ball..My waitress was very nice and she was also patient and knowledgeable about the menu.Every cook in the building is amazing and very friendly.The receptionist could have probably been a little nicer but overall it didnt take away from my visit.we all know that fantastic customer service starts from when I walk in the door of an establishment all the way until I leave that establishment..Hopefully the receptionist will take heed to this request in the future..I definitely want to extend a very special thanks to my waitress,the cook that was at my table as well as every cook that works at this location.Thank you thank you and I will be returning very soon!!!
This was my first experience and it was truly amazing. The flames, the food it all was so good. One birthday I will never forget.
Went here because Outback wouldnt seat 9 people ☹️ It was my nephews 16 birthday and according to him it was the best time he had at a meal and the best meal he ever had!! 78 yes old Grandpa never was at a Japanese Steakhouse before just like my nephew and he loved it as well. Our Chef/Entertainment Specialist was thoroughly professional and did a most excellent job preparing our meal. The wait staff (Our Waitress) was pretty amazing and her attitude and demeanor was a breath of fresh air compared to some of my recent dining out experiences. I would greatly recommend Hamada of Japan to anyone who likes good food, good fun, and great service!! 🙂
Great attentive service.Gratuity is already included at a 11%.All employees were wearing their mask properly at sight.What I absolutely disliked and I don’t know if I will be coming back soon because of this is the fact that there is no more social distancing at the hibachi tables. They are filling the tables to the max and they did not ask if we were comfortable with no social distancing between parties.You could see that others at our table wanted to keep chairs between us but the hostess makes you sit where they want you to sit and right next to other strangers. That’s inconsiderate and unsafe. You could tell we were all uncomfortable during our meal. Every table is filled. So even the table next to you has people, and if you have been, you know the tables aren’t even spaced far enough.
Took my sisters to this restaurant to celebrate older sister being a 1 year cancer survivor. Amazing food and atmosphere. Just one complaint- the furniture is outdated and the chairs are very low, not good for older adults
It’s always fulfilling and the portions are spot on.I took leftovers for lunch,great taste and also I recommend trying the hibachi lobster tail.Bon appétit🥢🥢🍱🍱
Been here twice, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Server not very personable, however chef was best so far of all hibachi grills weve been to. Food was phenomenal and I will have 2 more meals out of mine. Cant wait to go again!
First hibachi experience and let me tell you, it was not disappointing. I went here with my aunt and husband for lunch. Our chef was amazing. The food was phenomenal and the drinks were good too. All in all a good first time experience.

Our waitress Yoko was amazingly attentive. I love when I dont have to ask for water.. She was on it: )Our chef Emilio was really great. He remembered I didnt want egg or meat and it made me really happy.I wish that the womens bathroom was more sanitary and the lock didnt work on my stall. I also wish that they had a bit more spacing between the groups. The cucumber in my salad looked sad. Lastly.. Holy butter.. I still really enjoyed it.
This place has good quality food and you pay for it. The service is usually good. My suggestion is that be careful in how much you eat, and know your bodys limits or you will be making a quick trip to bathroom because the food is very rich in butter, oils, spices, liquid drink etc. Its a good thing, but funny. The place has ups and downs depends on the help.
First time there, we had the hibachi meal. Great entertainment, food was delicious, the portions were huge I couldve easily split my meal with another and been satisfied. There are tables for customers to order regular meals off the menu. They also have a nice selection of cocktails. We will definitely return.
The best restaurant in Tinley Park, in my humble opinion. All Im saying is: ask for the appetizer noodles. Even if you dont like pasta, ASK FOR THE APPETIZER NOODLES!!! Once youve tried it, youll be more hooked than Sam-I-Am on green eggs and ham!

It was okay. I thought the food would have been outstanding for the amount of time you have to wait just to get in the door. The food wasnt that great it was just okay. I prefer Wus, the food is well seasoned, thier chefs are very professional and entertaining also the drinks also amazing.

Although Ive only been here a handful of times, I have never had a bad experience. The food is amazing and no complaints about the service. Its a good thing I dont live closer because I would constantly order from here.
Ordered take out!:( The quality of the food has definitely fallen off. I even received watered down yum-yum/seafood sauce. My sister went two days later and had the same experience with unseasoned food and watery yum-yum/seafood sauce. I have a problem spending my money and establishments feel I deserve less than. Wus House is always on point and down the street.
Been going here for 10+years, food amazing, drinks are good also, and give you so much to take home, it does get busy and you will have to wait a bit but the food is worth it...
My family and I love it. A bit of a wait so be ready. Come prepared, but trust me its so worth the wait. You do not have to worry about not getting your monies worth. 5 stars plus.

Disappointed. Kikkoman is the main flavor of every dish. I watched the cook put it on veggies, rice, shrimp, Lobster, noodles. Just a brown plate of soy sauce. I will not be back.
As always, the food here is great! However, the quality of the building and its interior are degrading and in need of a good deep clean/ renovation.
The food & service were both good. We had a very entertaining, funny chef, who engaged with the whole group(12) & found a way for everyone to participate. The only reason the rating isnt higher is because I watched him give away portions of food that came with my dinner, so by the time he got around the table to me, I got the smallest portion, but had the most expensive meal! Please give me what I paid for, then let others have the samples & scraps
First time ever on my birthday I love their food the place is clean and really neat I highly recommend to visit it anytime.

To start I wish that I could put zero stars! There is absolutely no social distancing going on at all! When you first arrive they have a sign that says no soft drinks. Fine. We still decided to try them out. Upon being seated the tables were completely seated (never seen this happening since covid started). Still decided to stay. The waiter came to take the table order told us they could not give us any spicy sauce. They didn’t have any. Then proceeded to tell us that they could not add extra shrimp, steak, or chicken. I could’ve sworn that I’m the one paying here right? That’s where the line was crossed. No way are you going to tell me what I can and can’t eat with my money. My guest and I calmly left. Zero stars!

Very good food..amazing service. They have the best noodles😊. With the pandemic there is a longer wait to be seated..alcoholic drinks👎are not their strong suit. I gave it 4 stars only because of the added service charge to the bill. I dont care for the assumption of a tip regardless of how the service was. My receipt shows a 19.00 gratuity..their copy said service charge

I just want to say thank you for great service and accommodations last minute after our loved one passed. It was already a day of heartache and we called and you made it happen with 4 tables of 11 or 12 of us at each table and it turned out to be good times reminiscing and superb food. Our table was last to get a cook but he was awesome! I wish I got his name. He was personable to the kids and paid attention to everything. He got my 3 year old picky eater to eat everything because she liked it being prepared right in front of her. She ate the noodles, broccoli, chicken, steak and zucchini. She normally doesnt eat anything with sauce. She watched him put the sauce on it and still ate all of it. I greatly appreciate your hospitality and will definitely recommend this place to more friends and family.

Great date night with my Lady. Food and service was perfect.From the time we arrived until we left. The staff was very helpful and attentive despite having a full house to contend with.The bartender was nice and polite and poured a good drink. She was very helpful in choosing an appetizer while we waited for our table.The chef was very entertaining and cooked our meals perfectly. And the portions were enough for lunch and dinner the next day.You cant go wrong dinning here.

The owner is very unpleasant despite you being a paying customer. Staff is rude when the place is busy. Tempura shrimp and not clean and for the price they should be. Food was good, cook was great but I wont return.
Upon walking in, the manager was being very rude to the employees, a negative vibe right away. We went here for lunch, my fiance and I. Even the other guests we shared a table with we could just tell none of us were loving the food. This was the worst hibachi restaurant weve ever visited. The first thing served (after soup & salad) were these thick noodles, very oily & gross, way too filling and not good at all. Then the chicken and seafood ordered seemed like yesterdays meat. I threw out what I took home with me later that evening. Such a disappointment, and we had been looking forward to trying them. My fiance still tipped the chef at the end of the meal out of courtesy.
Been here a number of times, but this time it took a good while before the cook came. The chicken that was served had a horrible odor. Had to get the manager. Spoiled the whole experience.
The food was good and plenty. The chefs were awesome and interactive. But... It was just too freaking hot in the restaurant.
Had sushi and shrimp and vegetable tempura,.. loved it!!! I was not disappointed.
As Japanese Steak Houses go, it was fine. The Chef was entertaining and proficient. The bartender could of been a little more attentive in her execution. My companion found a black gnat floating in her apple martini. Other than that it was totally acceptable but honestly nothing out of the ordinary. I found the twenty dollar service fee added to my $120.00 check interesting. Even more so when they brought my credit card back and saw a line for additional gratuity on the merchant’s copy. Maybe Hamada means greedy in Japanese?
Maybe the food wouldve tasted better if I ate it there, but I ordered it to go and it was soooooo greasy I stayed in the bathroom for 2 days after I ate it. They also gave me a time to pick it up which was 45 minutes but when I got there I had to wait ANOTHER half hour. My order wasnt correct on top of everything else. Maybe they were having an off day but for the prices I would think they couldve done waaaay better
Eventho all you will see is people of color in there they dont put back in the community they dont care for people of color. I would not recommend this place. If only we unite!

Absolutely amazing experience! Wennie was our Chef and he did not disappoint with his skills at the grill. Not only was he entertaining but the food he served delicious! I had the Filet Mignon with Lobster tail and my friend had the hibachi chicken. Both were cooked to perfection.One last thing. It would be remiss if I did not mention the bartender who took care of us before seating. Her name is Jenna and she is as good as it gets when it comes to slinging drinks. She was on point, attentive, and courteous the entire time we were at the bar. Even though she was getting slammed with orders from within the restaurant. Im not sure how many people the place seats but Im sure its easily 100 +. So mad props and kudos to their bar staff!
I enjoyed a nice and fulfilling meal. The chef had a great sense of humor in spite of the group declining to participate in the food toss antics. The portions were ample. The restrooms were clean and Covid guidelines were followed.
Cook was extremely slow! Meat over cooked!Drinks taste like syrup. They really fell off. I will stick to Wus House!

I love coming here. There is no other hibachi grill that has better tasting noodles. The portions are always huge. So huge by the time they finish cooking your food, you have to have a to go box. It’s always tastes great. The prices are better during lunch. However the wait during lunch time are a bit longer, in my opinion. Not all of the chefs do tricks with the fire and food. I guess it depends on who you have. I do like that they have no issues separating your bill. I typically look forward to going each time I go.
Perfect place for special occasions, such a cook spectacle and great flavors. Great to go with friends or family, including babies
This the only Habachi grill I will go to in the Chicagoland area. The food is always good and cooked perfectly.
Stopped in to eat sushi at 5 pm on a Thursday, they were fairly busy. Waited 20 min to get a drink. Placed dine in order and a to go order. Half of order was delivered fresh and other half sat on counter for 20 min before chef brought them to me and apologized. Waited to get bill for 30 min after I was done eating. To go order wasnt ready to go when I was, was told it would take 10-15 min. Had to go order removed from bill and still got stuck with a added gratuity for the lack of service and inconvenience I caused. Keep driving dont stop. Tokyo steakhouse is down the road A+.

Ok, something different. The shrimps was good, but the steak was salty and had a lot of fat that wasnt trim.
I hadnt been in years and decided to give it another try. They upset me before for rushing me out (pre-pandemic) to ensure they could sit new guests, even if I wasnt done with my food. With my return, the food is off...the flavor isnt there. Also, they are now charging a COVID FEE that they add on to your bill and also want you to tip?!?!?! And you still rush me out to try to sit others....yeah I wont return. I also ordered a togo meal for my mother, which wasnt cooked in front of me...her fried rice had some type of gumminess to it...WTH!

I came here from Cincinnati on the advice of a friend and Hamada did not disappoint. From the delicious sushi and hibachi food to the amazing and friendly staff, you owe it to yourself to visit.Arigatou gozaimasu!
The food is always very good when I eat inside. I haven’t dined in since covid but I have ordered to go. I will say a few times I was upset with the food to go, they seem a bit inconsistent. However, ordering extra soy sauce and Garlic butter seemed to remedy the issue of my noodles/rice being burnt.
This is a nice place to take your family to. The chef is awesome and they have great food and good service.
We waited over an hour and a half for a table (having purposely come early because they don’t take reservations on weekends). Then, we waited another hour for our chef to come to our table. We tried to order unfiltered nigori sake, which our waiter did not understand and brought us the wrong sake. My son accidentally ordered extra noodles, which is a ridiculous extra $5.60. Be careful ordering, the waiter asks about fried rice and extra noodles very quickly. It’s easy to order without realizing they’re both up charges. I ordered plain rice, but got charged for chicken fried rice. My husband ordered fried rice (no chicken) which is the same up charge as chicken fried rice, though not listed as such on the menu.Overall, service was horrible, food was so so, chef was mediocre, and we left smelling like we worked 6 hours as a frier in a greasy spoon. I would not go again.
The food was amazzzzing! Ok?!...just go! It had full portions..flavor profile was on point...service and entertainment was just right...thr drinks were a little expensive for not so much of a strong punch...but, we loved it overall.
Good food but not a fan of restaurants who dont take reservations. Wont be back.
