I am so happy they are open! The new owners are very nice! The cashiers are some of the sweetest ladies I have ever met. Fresh meat. Fresh produce. If somebody has a complaint, its probably because they dont know how to cook.
I really like this market. After living in California for 25 years, dear friends and neighbors shared Latin food recipes with me that I still really enjoy making since moving back to Ohio (Miami County). Some ingredients really presented a challenge, I.e. Kroger/ Meijer just doesn’t carry the stuff. I always find what I need here.Everyone that works here is soooo nice, friendly and helpful.
Literally nothing is fresh here. Im constantly finding expired goods, goods with no expiration date that cant be trusted due to the former, and a bunch of stuff appears to be being...Frozen? For some reason like all of their meat is frozen including both prepackaged and deli/butcher food and I mean everything. Which is odd because it also often smells like rotting meat here. This place is so weird.
The best things about this grocery store is there is a lot of Mexican food items (obviously) and the employees are extremely friendly. However, theres a sewage-like stench they cant seem to get rid of in the produce section and first few rows of groceries. Many very common items are only available in a few different brands (ie, coffee). Almost everything is grossly over-priced (ie, coffee). Theres no incentive to shop there unless you live in Tipp City and youre in a hurry or you dont want to go to the grocery in Vandalia or Troy.
Whole store is dirty and smells like rotting meat.Went on a different day and literally almost their entire bread shelf was expired. Had to leave and go somewhere else to get some plain bread.
Bought 2 chickens there. Toughest chicken weve ever had! Will never buy meat there again. Foodtown had the best meat 😪
FYI, they are open 7 days a week from 8 to 8. They are the nicest people. Great Mexican meats. The butcher even went so far as to pull out fresh Carne Al Pastor, Fajitas De Pollo and Adobada De Pollo for me. I am so glad they are here. Everything is reasonable in price. They still carry some of the food town brands. With the pandamic, if youre in the cooking as I, check it out. I was literally able to get 5 meals for 2 and a 6 pk. of Corona for $63.
Nice local grocer with International (primarily Mexican) ingredients and flavors.
Great service.
