Great place to get an animal processed! Easy drop off and pick up, excellent packaging and smoking / flavor. Employees are curious and professional.

They have the best Hurka I have ever had. I really miss going there since they closed.Louis was the best.He is truly missed.I am not sure if they are going to reopen again.I cannot find the great Hurka that Louis used to make anywhere.

Had the chicken paprikas for the first time tonight from Takacs and WOW. Could not possibly be done better. So much flavor. The dumplings have a great texture and match up well with the chicken that falls right off the bone. This could be the single best dish in Toledo. Try it out- promise you will not be disappointed.

I try to go there at least 3 times a year to stock up on all the great Hungarian items they have. I live over an hour away. Love this store

I wish I could give more than 5 stars! Lou is AMAZING in every way, and when I say amazing I sincerely mean it. My dad has been a customer of Takacs for a long time, and my sister had her wedding catered by them. I know the food and customer service is always excellent so when I was planning my wedding I knew I wanted to have Takacs cater. Lou exceeded every expectation. The ordering process and communication through email was easy and prompt, the food tasting was amazing and had very generous portions. He called to make sure everything was perfect and just how I wanted for my big day and during our wedding dinner he continuously checked on my husband and I to make sure we were ok and if we needed anything and was just all around exceptional. The greatest customer service I have ever experienced and amazing amazing food. I would recommend Lou and Takacs to anyone that would need catering service in the area! By far the best around and best prices! Thank you so much Lou and team for making my day smooth and perfect!

We went there today and showing up at 2:15, the 2 ladies still sliced my cheese and salami at 2:30, they said at 2:30 they quit slicing to clean up but were still helping us, they were so kind and went home and made the ring of burka, excellent. Always went to Takacs with my Grandmother when I was little. Then with my Dad, now I go with my kids to get all of our Hungarian Meat to carry on the tradition of our Hunky Christmas Eve Dinner. Love this place and that crazy squirrel outside that will beg for food!

Love going in here when we are in town. They are always SUPER friendly, have the right Hungarian delicacies and products. Great place!

I’m a private caterer and recently had a client from a big polish family. Smoked Kielbasa and Sauerkraut was one of the requested menu items. I came across Takacs and order both from them. With my careful, skillful preparation... the client and her family were very happy with the dish. Takacs is now my go-to for Polish/Hungarian ingredients.

My family has gone to Takacs for years as a family tradition around Christmas Eve. My husband was 1/2 Hungarian and his family lived in Hunky Town. Takacs is great! The sausages and Hurka and Dutch Loaf are wonderful! Plus all the other Hungarian items. Ive been in the Bende store in the Chicago area and it had nothing over Takacs. If you want Hungarian food or even just a great specialty meat counter, Takacs is the place to go.

Knew all three generations of the Takacs family. Love hurka, with cabbage & noodles with pickled beets mashed with horse radish. Another sausage Kolbasz fresh or smoked. Soups all in one meal chicken, beef or beans with smoked picnic .Beef short ribs, my fav meat for Beef soup. Always celery, carrots, kolarabi, Parsley root, & always Paprika. Grandparents were born in Hungary soups were a staple. Europeans were all soup makers Hunkies, Poles,Irish, Germans, Italians & in America post ww ll large families were common as was soups.

Great authentic and hungrain food ask jelly pig feet, paprika bacon, homemade dutch loaf, hurka, pigs in blanket, chicken paprika specials,fresh kielbasa,smoked kielbasa all home made and languagers!

A wonderful place to buy Sausage and their chicken paprikas (must order Wednesday Morning) has absolutely no competition anywhere in Toledo.

All right.....my first visit to this place a few days ago and I could bearly contain my self..... Not a big place and not a ahuge selection at all but great service and quality goods more than make up for that. Oll country sausages and meats, hurka, kolbász, abált szalonna, and excelent cabbage rolls I mean delicious!!!

Good Hungarian sausage, quite a small store. Outside of meets most of their products are from Bende in Chicago.
