My first 7TILL8 wetsuit showed up 7 weeks and 2 days after I visited the shop, in a small warehouse complex. Its easy to find. The measurement process was interesting, the facility is immaculate and well designed.Im in Florida, where the September weather is now a bit less than steambath and the water above 80, so no water tryout until things cool off.The wetsuits a 3mm short sleeve, back zip. I have good 3 and 4 mm backzip suits from Feral, a useful but slightly too big 2XLS from ONeill, and 2mms, short and long sleeve, that are stretchy enough to fit decently. My physical condition, 71 years old with shoulder problems (one with some loss of movement, the other being kept immobile while recuperating from rotator cuff repair). Ive shrunk to 58 from 510, weight unsatisfactory (205 but good prospects for getting down to 180), neck about 17.5. Im built like a Hobbit. Its great to have something that fits. Thanks to the back zip, I was easily able to get the suit on without harming my bad arm. It was great to have a neck thats my actual size. Waist thats also my size. Legs that fit. I expect it will loosen slightly with use. I realize that some think of wetsuits as compression garments. Im happy to use compression socks, but for wetsuit, ease of movement is more important. I also dont like carpet-like material inside wetsuits--I concur that the stuff gets soggy and heavy.I will probably put off a second order until I lose weight and I regain most use of the arm. Likely visits include the Outer Banks and southern California. so possibly a 5/3.
It is so rare to have such a wonderful customer experience. “Kris” (maybe wrong spelling) was not only professional and smart, but very kind and thoughtful. I have a weird body and have had some sad “fitting” experiences, but my appointment at 7TILL was fabulous. I’m so looking forward to the wetsuit.
Met with the tailor at the shop while visiting LA. Chris was so friendly and awesome to meet! I can tell already that my wetsuit is going to be great and that Ill be back for a dive suit and spring suit soon. Love this company.
Hello Matt and 7TILL8 Team,I have been using my new 7TILL8 wet-suit for about 6 weeks now and wanted to give you a user review. I ordered the 3mm Steamer, which replaced my Patagonia 4/3, that I refer to as the straight jacket (for which I paid $499.99, could not find a better price anywhere). In short, your wet-suit exceeded my expectations by a long shot. Flexibility in the shoulders was my number one priority - exceeded and then some. Warmth was second - exceeded (I was concerned that a 3mm might be chilly after wearing top of the line 4/3s for at least a dozen south bay winters, your suit is significantly warmer). Wind protection - exceeded (fully tested with all the cold off shores this winter). Fit - exceeded (measuring process was easy, by far the best fitting wet-suit I have ever owned). Value - exceeded (really just a few dollars more than a top of the line 4/3). Drying time - exceeded (dries indoors in 2/3 hours, both sides). Warranty - unprecedented (I have talked to several surfers who have requested repairs, they all report no problem and quick repair). Your competitors search for reasons to deny the 1 year warranty repair. In short, I have purchased at least 1 if not 2 wet-suits per year for nearly 45 years. The 7TILL8 is hands down the best wet-suit I have ever owned, nothing has come close! Ill be back in April to get fitted for a spring and summer suits. Thanks for an awesome product!Robert Glavan
Superb wetsuits and fantastic customer service!Huge thanks to Matt and the 7TILL8 team for getting my custom suit to me in time for a planned dive trip. They will not let you down.
We had amazing experience with 7till8! They were one of the companies that took on our request. We needed a wet suit that was easy to get on my sister who has a SCI. Andrew took some of our ideas and went with it. They helped us get the desired wet suit within our budget. The deep dive suit keeps her warm and is great for off season diving. We would recommend 7till8 to anyone looking for a custom wet suit. We cant wait to check out the new prints and skins!Thank you to the entire team!!
I am new to LA and I had been looking for a wetsuit maker which can make custom order wetsuit and found this shop. Since I am short and a bit bulky, I felt like it was almost impossible to find a wetsuit which fits my body perfectly.I just got my new 3/3 wetsuit and tried it for the first time a few days ago. Man, it was amazing. great job! Definitely want to order again!
I ordered a 4/3 + separate hood and decided to test it in chilly waters (Mediterranean sea, end of January, 8°C)... it was unbelievable: much warmer than expected and definitely much warmer than my 5/4 from a commercial brand. The fit is perfect! You can feel the wetsuit attached to your body, especially in the back, where many wetsuits create a gap, and under the shoulders... this makes 7till8 a super comfy wetsuit and allows for easy paddling and no movement restrain... I just oredere a 3/2, because when water will get warmer I dont want to switch from the comfort of 7till8 to the old commercial wetsuit, it would be a huge set-back! Once you try these wetsuit (and I admit I was skeptical in the beginning) you get hooked and cannot wear anything else for your surfing session. The only problem I have with 7till8, which I already informed them about, is this: WHEN WILL YOU START MAKING CUSTOM BOOTS AND GLOVES? But really, to anyone reading this, you gotta try one of their wetsuit to really undersand the difference... and then you never go back, I can guarantee... I still suck at surfing, but at least I am so much more confortable in the water now
4/3 chest zip, ready-made (not custom).Solid suit. Nice rubber, well made, warm. Less frills than the major brands, but does everything it should and for a fraction of the price. Only quibble is that I get a little more flushing down the back than in other suits Ive had, mainly when I get hit in the back with the lip (not so much when duck diving). But its a very minor issue, and hardly worth mentioning given the overall value of the suit for the price.
Awesome suits delivered by awesome people with a lot or passion for the sport of surfing. Suit takes a while to create and ship but is the best one Ive ever had and i have worn it for over 2 years
First custom wetsuit I have ever owned and wow! Andrew really went above and beyond to make sure the suit was a perfect fit! The build quality is phenomenal, there is zero bunching around the elbows and knees and the pricing for custom is only a little more than the off the rack, ill-fitting opposition. You have yourself a customer for life! Thank you for making surfing a whole lot warmer, more comfortable and rash-free!
I just received my wetsuit, Delivered on time as promised. I expected UPS to deliver it but since I am not to far from Torrance an 7TILL8 employee delivered it personally to my office and shook my hand. Now that is service! The suit fits PERFECTLY. The construction seems to be flawless. I took a chance on the Yamamoto neoprene - this is more expensive than my normal custom 7mm suits that I have gotten in the past. Glad I did. It is stretchier than normal wetsuit neoprene. Easy to get on and off. And I am impressed with the stitching and the seams, This should last a long time.Cannot wait to break it in diving the Coronados this weekend!
First off, Jon at 7till8 is among the best customer service professionals youll ever deal with. I ordered a custom wetsuit months back and goofed on taking my own measurements. Fortunately, 7till8 offers free alterations and repairs on all of their custom suits. Jon worked with me to fine tune my measurements and after a few changes to the suit and 4 sessions in the water, I can now say this is the most comfortable suit Ive ever worn. Its hard to explain just how nice the Japanese neoprene they use actually is, you sort of just need to see for yourself. Worth every penny. Huge thanks to Jon and the team at 7till8. Great company with a great product and Ill continue to do business with them.
Awesome guys who make fantastic wet suits. If you live in the area then worth going there to get measurements and discuss your suit with the owners. There are secret colors etc that you can only get if you visit the factory. Sketchy area but it is a factory not a store.
This review is long overdue.I bought my first wetsuit from them a year and half ago. A 3/2 custom full wetsuitI purchased my 2nd wetsuit from them this winter - custom 3/3 hooded.Iv’e been surfing for almost 20 years now. Tried any wetsuit that is out there by now.Hands down 7till8 wetsuit is the best I ever worn. by a long shot.I live in socal,I surf about 4 times a week. I owned the 3/2 wetsuit for a year and half now and its almost as good as new. That is insane. Any other wetsuit would have fallen apart by now.I had a few minor seams that worned out, I shipped it to them and they fixed it free of charge! This wetsuit is so much more comfortable that any other wetsuit. I normally wear 4/3 during the winter months, this is the only winter I wore 3/2 through out the winter.I get cold easily and this suit kept me warm and toasty year around.I used the 3/3 hooded wetsuit in central California in the middle of the winter. Felt warm enough.Their wetsuits are more expensive then the standard wetsuits that are out there, but you are getting your money worth.Youre enjoying your surf more, and your wetsuit last longer which I think in the long run you are saving money and it’s better for the environment. The guys that work there are super nice as well.Thank you 7till8.You earned a lifelong customer :)
I came in to get my rip curl suit repaired and Andrew repaired it for me right then and there. I ended up getting measured up for a custom springsuit my very first and man I dont know why I never looked into this. Im pretty tall but never really had that much trouble fitting into a wetsuit but the custom fit was like wearing nothing. Ill probably be getting one of their full suits once winter hits. Great work guys! Im always a huge supporter of local businesses.
I posted on Yelp as well, but it has to be said here. 7till8 is extremely professional and served me very well. I needed the wetsuit sent asap and they delivered! I got the navy ready made wetsuit and it fit perfectly. Build quality and colors are amazing. They replied to my Instagram DMs promptly and answered my questions thoroughly.I definitely recommend buying from 7till8 and will continue to shop/order from here. The all five star reviews made me hesitate on purchasing, but I took a stab at it and they definitely deserve the 5 stars.Give them a try!
Im 72 and needed a new wetsuit for diving. 7Till 8 went out of their way to provide a good quality and well fitted custom wetsuit. These guys really know wetsuits, Thanks, Andrew, great wetsuit!
7TILL8 is a great company with outstanding customer service! Ive owned wetsuits from quicksilver to ripcurl, and my 7TILL8 suit is by far the best. Most comfortable, warm, and flexible wetsuit I have ever had.
I order a 4/3 wet suit from 7Till8. The wet suit is awesome and perfect fit on me!! It is very comfortable to put it on and off.
Andrew has been an outstanding liaison for the company, and the high quality wetsuits will keep you as warm as you need. They have an excellent selection for whatever water temperature youre heading out in. These guys are blowing up.***Im posting this as a follow-up review since Ive had a 7till8 wetsuit for a bit over a year now.I love it.The wetsuit has held up incredibly well considering the amount I take it out. All the seams are still in good shape, the neoprene is still as flexible as the first day, and the fit is unparalleled. I used to always buy Matuse since they made what I previously considered the best-fitting wetsuits, but Im a convert.Wetsuits can never be a buy it for life item, but 7till8 comes as close as any brand can.
Best customer service Ive ever dealt with in a surf/wetsuit company, Andrew is fantastic and cares a lot about each customer. My custom suit has been the best wettie Ive ever worn and I cant wait until I need a new one so I have an excuse to order another one. The construction and materials are the best, the suit keeps me warmer then my old hurley 4/3. thanks 7till8!
Amazing quality custom wetsuit, when I got mine I was really impressed with the fit and quality of the material, to make a long story short this is my best custom shorty wetsuit.
Great service and repairs. I broke my zipper and also wanted some alterations. No charge and great customer service. I am customer for life!!!
Inclusive of a terrific wetsuit product as most of these reviews laud, the 7till8 crew understand and provide the the essentials of growing a small specialty business... quality innovative products, proactive service orientation and great value delivery. They recently offered a unique limited edition Aloha Wetshirt with a promised delivery date. Missed the date however, proactively communicated timing issue, followed up with a second contact from the founder and personally addressed concerns for my specific gift situation resulting in receiving a terrific product that exceeded expectations. Theres probably a whole team of folks responsible for this awesome wetsuit but shoutout to Andrew and Grace. Thanks! WG
Game changer !!! Love all my suits 🙌🏽 I’m on suit number 5 with Andrew and 7till8 .. my latest is the MOTO front zip top ... with the perfect custom fit and best rubber available in the world . (I did the research)lol all my suit are incredibly comfortable, warm and almost even hot at times ... as far as customer service goes..... They are second to none !!! This is a great company... measurements take a couple of minutes and your done ... 🙌🏽🙌🏽 #gocustom
Carapace wetsuits does an awesome job! They make custom wetsuits that fit like a glove. Ive always been in between sizes with my traditional off the rack wetsuit, its lead to problems for me like chafing and bunching up which blows. With their customized wetsuit software they make wetsuits that completely fit once you send them your measurements. You just type that stuff in on the site, they get your order and in a week or two your wetsuit arrives. Also some kook dropped in on me at rincon and his fin ended up slicing up my wetsuit. Needless to say, I was pretty bummed. But I sent it over to Andy and Alex at Carapace and they were able to repair my wetsuit like new. Great company and great guys!
Rather than sharing a review of a brand new 7till8 wetsuit, I prefer to do it after 6months, when you see the real performance, and not a nice smelling boxed item.I am writing this review on their older version of wetsuit material. I am comparing this to a renowned dive brands top of the range wetsuit. Generally, the neoprene shows no sign of collapse or volume reduction, which is different to the off the shelf brand. No sign in weakness at the joint, stich, and zippers. About 50∼80dives and the knee reinforcement is extremely strong. A tight seal on the ankle and wrist is apparent (especially I balloon up under a shower).3mm is way too warm in Bali, but it just prove the wetsuit doing its job. 2.5hrs of continuous diving, and not a bit cold.I havent tried the titanum alpha yamamoto neoprene, but for that reduced buoyancy, its probably what I need, as currently I need 10kg of weights. Any reduction will be appreciated.
Really great customer service. One part of the wetsuit wasnt fitting properly and Jon really went the extra mile to make sure that the the suit was adjusted to get the fit right.
Really great customer service. Repair my damaged wetsuit very well.
First Carapace now new name 7TiLL8. Great grup of professionals with one gold in common, that is making the best custom wetsuits on the market. I went to different surf shops trying to get a wetsuit that can fit me but, unfortunately they where to long on my legs and arms or they where to tight. This company offers a measurement system right from your computer with easy instructions to fallow that will guide you true a number of steps so that way you get that perfect fit.Quality- this wetsuits are made with the best materials out there. My wetsuit keeps me warm and dry and dry fast in matter of minutes. This is my second surf wetsuit that I order from this company. I recommended it to everyone out there.Im a military member and we travel very often, my fist wetsuit I Order was delivered to Atsugi base on Japan and my second one right on my front door on Sandiego CA. Pluss they honor a 10% military discount, what else can I ask! Thanks you guys Im ready to hit the waves.
Andrew was great help and answer all my questions
