My wife and I couldn’t be more pleased with Maggie and Bay View Flooring. We are new to the area and desperately wanted new flooring throughout our house prior to the arrival of our moving van. By the time we closed on the house, picked out flooring, and had a date from the moving company, the schedule was very tight. Maggie worked some magic and got the product shipped to TC and a crew lined up for the install before our drop-dead date. It was an amazing effort, especially given the challenges of the times we’re in.The crew (David, Lawrence, Isaiah, and Viktor) were equally wonderful. It was soon obvious the pride they each took in their work and that they are true craftsmen. A bonus was that they were fun to be around for the three days they worked in our house.We have quality floors and a quality installation. Great job, Bay View!

We were so lucky to go to Bay View Flooring and Design Center They at Bay View are lucky to have Ben and Tom. . Jodie is the lady to talk to! She can give you chapter and verse about rugs, laminate and timing.If you are looking for a couple of perfectionist to do your floors, have I got a recommendation of the 2 best workers I have ever seen. Ben & Tom worked so hard making our floors in our living room beautiful! It took two days to get the floors evened out so they could put the laminate down. I am so impressed with their work ethic and dedication.They took the time to look at all the details, including Ben going around all the quarter round had all the nail heads covered with white silicone. Tom made so many trips around the room making sure all the wavy spots were covered with a kind of hardener. The laminate is so tight you couldnt get an eyelash between the panels. I am hoping next year we will be able to get our bedrooms done as well and you can be sure we will be calling on Jodie, Ben and Tom. Bless you all for all your hard work!Lilly and Tim

Carpeting for 4 bedrooms at our cottage on Glen Lake was scheduled for this past Tuesday and Wednesday. There was a bad storm all morning on Tuesday, but our installers still came and did the work.David and Dave were polite, efficient, and cleaned up all debris. We have used Bay View in the past and will certainly use them again for future projects. Robin is very helpful to work with in a long distance situation. They were flexible with our schedule. It all looks beautiful!

We worked with Robin at Bay View Flooring to select solid wood flooring for our home. We chose Preverco Yellow Birch and couldnt be happier! Robin was very patient as we worked through our decision. The installation went very smoothly and when they came back for some minor repairs, they didnt charge us. We also purchased tile for our bathroom remodeling job, along with the grout and other supplies. Bay View has been a true pleasure to work with. Nate was very patient with my wife and me and gave us various options to consider given the goals we had for our master bath remodel. He helped us determine which materials would work best and showed us a wonderful variety of tile and flooring options to choose from. They sent Mike out for measurements and it was amazing how little waste there was. These guys are experienced and very knowledgeable. They also know how to listen. But all of this means little if the installer isnt equally qualified and talented. Thats where Sam came in.Sam has around 30 years of experience with tiling and is also a heck of a nice guy. This remodel included a steam shower and Sam had some concerns he shared with others at Bay View to ensure we had the best design possible. Sam believes in doing things right the first time and gave us excellent recommendations along the way. The end result? An absolutely beautiful work of art.Now were working with Bay View on replacing some old carpet. We highly recommend Bay View Flooring and Design and Sam for tile installation.

We recently completed our new build (Norris Construction) and had Bay View do the flooring throughout the entire house. This project included using hickory hardwood for the complete interior and a beautiful laminate for our 3-season room. Our experience with Bay View Flooring started over a year ago. Our salesman Patrick helped us choose the right flooring for our new home. The hardwoods we chose were perfect, and complimented our homes interior design features. Unfortunately, our builder elected to use his own installers in an effort to save money. Because of the squeaks and bounce associated with the entire main floor, Bay View did an in-depth investigation. Our builders installers we not experienced enough and used the wrong fasteners to secure the floors. The hardwoods needed to be removed.Our salesman Patrick Siler went above and beyond in order to coordinate the removal and proper installation (by Bay View) of our flooring. With the support of the owner at Bay View, Tim Hyland, he coordinated with our builder to have the old floors removed. They organized a team to be led by Randy Merchant, who would establish a plan to conduct the work with the least amount of disruption to our family. The team of professionals: Kevin, James, Paul, and Chris that conducted the work were absolutely fantastic. Their work site (attached photos) was left neat and clean a night, and the final result was beyond impressive. For the last six month every step we took was a reminder of how cutting corners has an adverse result. My family and I are now very proud of our floors, and are no longer embarrassed to have guests over. Our new floors that were installed today are simply amazing. From the sales team at the showroom, to the professionals that have their knees in the floors, Bay View is above reproach. Recommend with enthusiasm...

Had my second great experience with Bayview. We remodeled an old bathroom and contacted Robin Whipple. Robin did a great job helping us with not only design ideas, but with advice for the tear-down and prep phases. Her measurement and quote process was spot on - no surprises.Tom Saunders did the project, and I can’t say enough about the tile shower he created for us. His work was meticulous, including overcoming issues created by less than perfect framing and drywall. But Tom isn’t just an excellent installer, he has an eye for the art of the tile and painstakingly arranged our river rock floor and niche to maximize their beauty. We are very grateful and highly recommend Bayview Flooring .

Jody was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in helping us pick out the right flooring for us in our budget. Measurer Mike did a great job sizing up our job. Our installation took two days and our teams Kevin and James & Paul & Luke were prompt and courteous plus really went above and beyond particularly in the details of the work. 4 star for overall BUT only 1 star for installers sent to our home.The 1-person team (although 2 people were sent and one just stood around) was not a happy person doing the job. All we heard out of his mouth the whole time was bad mouthing Bay View sales who came out to measure for the job and they never know what their doing. He (Jamie) thinks someone needs to train these people how to measure and evaluate what needs to be done. Jaime was also upset that we had a toe plate in one of the rooms and he usually doesn’t!!I had to rip down one of them on our table saw myself before he damaged it the way he did on another one. He said was a fill in for bay view as they were so backed up and he has over 20 years experience, BUT he has no professionalism on the jobBay view excellent job with the store as we have used you before but do better on who you hire the jobs out to.We asked for installers that were at our home in the past, but they were no longer with them.

Purchase:Cindy - After starting the process Cindy took over our project with a caring and steady hand. We looked at over a dozen samples, went back and forth with our options and had a very difficult install.Through it all she was kind, communicative, fair and honest.I am about to call her back to start another project and will again when its time to redo our baths.Shes the best, give her a call and you wont be disappointed.Installation:Kevin & James - what can I say. We had 700 square feet of 1980s ceramic, covering thin set and durarock with a million nails in it. They spent day after day ripping that up while keeping the place as clean as possible.They then did a masterful job installing DuChateau engineered hardwood in all our common areas and new carpet throughout the bedrooms and on our stairs. Its a new house - absolutely amazing work. We were also gone for most of the project and I knew we could trust them each day in our house working on their own. Professionals, gentleman, craftsman. Cant thank them enough. Best going. Thanks guys. Overwhelmed by the job, in the best way.

Terrible experience - thats how my previous review started. Then the service manager got a hold of me, followed up by the owner. All questions answered and Im a happy camper. Now, I just have to complete the installation...

Horrible customer service experience, similar to the other reviews on here- I wish I would have read these reviews before ordering! Long story short, we went in mid-October completely prepared and picked out our tile THAT DAY but it took them over two weeks to get back to us with a quote (and this was only after WE called THEM and reminded them) and then (October 20) we finally placed the order and were given a date about two weeks out that it would be arriving. We excitedly tore up our bathroom, paid plumbers to arrange the new bathroom layout and had our flooring contractor prepared to show up.. well, the day we were supposed to be receiving our tile, nobody contacted us. We waited, called them the next day and they are now telling us our order is on back-order and won’t be here for over a month!!! We already ripped out our bathroom and, including material costs, are out over $4000 this month with nothing to show for it and a tenant who can now legally withhold rent, all of which we explained to them. After a week of phone tag with management, they were only willing to give us $200 compensation for our “inconvenience” that was completely a result of their lack of communication. We are aware of markup, and know for a fact they are making much more than $200 off of this transaction, so that was really like a slap in the face. They also refuse to tell us the wholesale price so that we could come up with a reasonable number. Just completely shady operation. This was actually our second time buying from here, and I can confirm we will never be shopping here again.UPDATE: We just received a voicemail from the owner saying they cancelled our order ?? We told them we would be out an additional $1600 if we don’t get the tile by the end of this month. They also told their manufacturers they “aren’t allowed to speak to us” ??Note: I do want to credit the positives of our experiences: Our first experience was with Nate, and he was awesome! He helped us get the tile we have in our kitchen right now, which we are very happy with. This time around we worked with Tina, who was very friendly and let us know she was new and still learning, so any issues we had with her I feel were due to improper training. Lastly, Jessica was extremely helpful and very communicative in helping us attempt resolving our current issue.UPDATE 2: 80% refunded?? We asked for $800 and, as we explained above, requested the wholesale price so we could determine if that number was too high. Never at any point were there any threats made, so that’s a completely fabricated and very harmful statement. And it still doesn’t make sense that during our earlier conversations your tone was very apologetic, then flipped as we didn’t accept your offer. We were originally told this was caused by firing the sales associate we had been working with and that we “fell through the cracks” .. then a couple days later, after we had said $200 would not suffice, it’s now all the distributors error and not your fault? We had been talking to your distributor who seemed to think this was not the case, but when we tried to follow up they informed us “Bay View instructed us not to speak to you and to direct you back to them.” It has now been three days since we were notified by text and voicemail that our order had been canceled without our prior knowledge, and after multiple attempts we have been unable to reach anyone at Bay View for comment. The only response we have received was the comment on this review, and we still have yet to receive our refund.

Our overall experience was very positive. We needed to replace carpeting in 2 rooms. Patrick did a great job helping us select the best carpet and Paul and Luke were excellent installers. They arrived on time, were very friendly, moved furniture and completed the installation without nicking any of our newly painted walls and woodwork! We are very satisfied customers

I walked into Bayview Flooring last August to look at wood flooring and was lucky enough to meet with Nate Houle. He spent a lot of time with me and gave great suggestions. Ultimately I decided on the Preverco Hickory. Installation was completed this week by Kevin & James. The floor is stunning!Can’t wait to get the tile installed as well.Nates been a pleasure to deal with and made the process enjoyable. Kevin and James installed my floating oak floor, replacing carpeting, adjacent to an oak floor that was installed twenty years ago. The detail and craftsmanship that they exhibited was perfection and put a big smile on my face. I trusted them so much that I left my home well before they were finished, knowing that Kevin and James had integrity. Id give them an eleven on a scale of 1-10.The sales person was another matter. He found a good match for the existing floor, but thats about it. He ordered synthetic, white quarter round that was an entirely inappropriate match for the red oak quarter round finishing the present floor. Then he nickled and dimed me for work and materials that are an incumbent part of floor installation. Plus, the fee for moving present furniture was patently ridiculous. And theres more. Look out! He gets a generous six out of ten.

Installers Paul and Lucas were extremely courteous, professional and quick! I like that they arrived in a nice company van instead of a sketchy beat up Scooby Doo van. Would like to give a kudos also to my salesman Jason. He was always knowledgable and patient answering my questions. Shop around and youll see that they have great pricing. I highly recommend this company!

We did a bathroom remodel with a steam shower and bath. Jean Risk did an exceptional job with the design and helping us pick out tile. Josh Hyland installed the tile and it is absolutely flawless. Super job Bay View Flooring and I cant wait to start the next project!

Patrick was great to work with in finding us the carpet and pad. He was flexible with us rescheduling installation due to construction delays. Used Costco discount which was awesome. Paul and Luke were friendly and professional in installing our carpet quickly and beautifully. Would recommend.

We stopped in hoping to find the right carpet in stock and get it installed soon. It had been over 10 yrs since shopping for carpet so the awesome sales person Patrick gave us the information to get the product we wanted. He is a gem and the store owners should hang on to him. Thanks Patrick!

We chose to go with Bayview flooring after shopping the area because a rug that we liked could be at the store in approximately 2 weeks. The sales rep went into his office to find this out. We called the third time today (2 MONTHS) later to find that it had arrived 6 days ago. We were in TC last week and had we gotten a call could have picked it up and saved an hour long trip.PS.. Learned to never give full payment as they requested, they had our $900 for 2 months.I am editing this previous post and give credit to Tim the owner for calling to apologize for this experience. He made no excuses and honestly wanted to make things right. Even came up with a way to possibly fix the delay, kudos to the owner!

I am happy to recommend Bay View Flooring to anyone who wants a highly professional carpeting dealer. From my first contact with the consultant Patrick, to the carpet measurements man Michael, to the installers Tom and Ben, all the Bay View employees were courteous, timely, and knowledgeable. The entire experience, from learning about carpet products, the cost estimating process, and the prompt and clean installation was pleasing to know still existed in Traverse City. I cannot recommend too highly this terrific company. I am extremely satisfied.

Just had laminate flooring from Bay View Flooring installed in a store room and finished with quarter-round molding. Work done by Matt Kurth. Did a great job of making a smooth transition from existing flooring in the hallway to the store room. Very pleased!

Enjoyed working with Cindy Mitchell at Cash and Carry flooring. Went in knowing what i wanted and was not high pressured to buy something else since they did not have enough of the product in stock. She picked up the phone got a hold of the company that makes the tile and we were able to order more. Within 3 working days my tile was here. Getting ready to start another project and Cash and Carry Flooring is where i will go and work with Cindy.

I am sooo pleased with Jason Harris in sales and Paul Schaub for installation!! Jason was so patient and helpful, listening to my wishes and finding the exact product with the luxury vinyl flooring and granite tile! Paul was so great tying the existing floor to the additional new space and wonderful in his work! 5 plus stars! They came through despite all the COVID hiccups and building delays.

Tom Saunders of Bay View Flooring is one of the best installers I have worked with. His attention to detail from beginning to end can not not be measured. His knowledge of the trade only comes with extensive work in the field. He has put in his time and it shows. Working as a Project Manager, I could always count on Tom to deliver the highest level of craftsmanship. If I could only choose one contractor to install at my house, it would be Tom Saunders.

We were very impressed with the service from beginning to end. Jason, the sales representative did a fantastic job explaining every detail regarding choices between carpet and wood flooring, including the installation process. Kevin and James installed our wood floor and were courteous, very hard working and paid such attention to every detail. We are thrilled with the results and absolutely love our new floor! My husband and I wanted our fireplace wall faced with stone and the hearth replaced with slate like material. We had a specific stone in mind but needed help finding the slate stone look for the hearth. Kristina listened to our vision and helped us find the look we wanted. She also ensured the stone slab we wanted was accurate as there were more look alike stone slabs in the same family group that had slightly different coloration and height variations. She showed us many different slate look products for the hearth, never in a hurry, and we selected some samples to take home. Kristina was very thorough and ensured we also considered replacing the metal trim that transitions from wood flooring to ceramic tile and also suggested a matching grout color, options we hadnt yet considered. She described the additional product (ditra) that was needed and provided a quote within a short period of time. Her experience and knowledge of the whole process was valuable. She informed us of the whole process including in-home measuring and photos to ensure accurate products would be ordered and minimizing any waste. Once we gave our consent, she gave us a timeline for the project installation. We were very pleased that they were able to do the work earlier than projected. David Prince did an excellent job installing the stone slab on our slanted cathedral ceiling fireplace wall. He took careful measurements to accurately apply the stone around our existing slightly warped live edge mantle, making it look aesthetically pleasing. It was apparent that he is very experienced as the final project looks stunning! We couldnt be happier. We also appreciated his description of the process timeline and his dependability. We highly recommend Kristina at Bay View Flooring and David Prince, master installer.

Bay View Flooring has a great array of options for flooring from which to choose for our home project. The sales staff was very helpful and installation crew did an excellent job. The installers were hard and conscientious workers with all of their time spent actively on the job and maintaining a clean work space with superb craftsmanship. We hope to do business with them again.

On day of installation Kevin and James were punctual, courteous, and wore mask. They efficiently made cuts so that we could have a few remnants from the project. Overall, a very professional job and the carpet looks great.

Great help from Bill Black in the showroom. The installers David and Lawrence were very professional and did a great job with install. We had a tricky floor that needed leveling and they took the time and truly cared about it be installed correctly and looking great !

We paid more to go with bay view over other companies, because we thought that even though the quote was high, we expected top quality work. Youll get mixed results depending on who the installers are. Weve had 5 different people here for 5 different visits to try and get things right. First installers did subpar job, floor was not very level when the vinyl plank was put down. Quarter round trim was horrible, it was just cut off square by all door frames. I called and two new guys were sent out, I had to explain to them how to cut returns on the ends. Looked a little better, like results Id get if I did it myself, but its been just a few months and pieces are falling off everywhere. Dont pay them to do quarter round trim, you can spend 20% of their quoted price, buy the trim and a compressor and brad nailer and do it yourself. Part of our LVP is buckling now 6 months later at a spot where the floor was uneven, and I had mentioned it to them and they told me the unevenness was normal. Ive given up, I got tired of trying to make appointments and having people come into our house. The first three guys refused to wear masks during the peak of a pandemic, and our house wreaked of cheap cologne and cigarettes smoke. I have to believe there are better options for flooring out there, I would not recommend, especially for the prices they charge. The carpet guy did a great job, no complaints there, but he also refused to wear a mask in the house during the pandemic when I asked him to.

We need flooring for our entire home. I went online to get more information and was emailed that night! From that point on, the service was excellent. Patrick came to our home. He had taken the time to look up pictures of our home from Zillow to get an idea of the style. He brought samples, spent time explaining products, taking measurements, etc. The work started on time and ended on time. The installers, James and Kevin, were professional and excellent. We were out of town and returned so we could be there on the day they said they were finishing. I wanted to be able to talk about any problems while they were still there. We found everthing perfect. Highly recommend!
