Called for product availability, call was picked up and service rep was talking to someone else. He said hello, then the audio cut out. Stayed on the line for about a minute, nothing. Called back 5 times, just rings and goes to voicemail. First experience with merchandise outlet, and now the last. Learn how to use a phone!

Nice selection of products, bought somethings for the wife and was very surprised about the price. It was lower then I expected, and if something didnt fit, keep the receipt, and they will take it back.

Merchandise Outlet is a really fun place to shop! You never know what you mighy find--sometimes there will be nothing you that want, others, you might find exactly what youre looking for. They buy large quantities of all kinds of overstock or slightly expired foods, so they can sell them for cheap. I love to browse around and see what interesting things I can find.

Lol. I love this place. You never know what your going to find here. If you see something you want but your on the fence about it, you better just get it, because it wont be there the next time go there. And you never see the same stuff twice. Some things are priced per average, some things are priced far below average. The clothes alone are worth checking out. There is some very interesting things there.

I liked shopping there. Good senior discount.. As one cashier said, if you like the item, buy it, it might not be there next time

Love that we finally have this little gem in tc area. Lots of good and interesting things you typically wouldnt see for sale in one store. One of those fun stores to just explore from end to end and see what you may find.

Notice to reviewers who complain about items here being past their Best By date: that is how this chain operates. Some person complained about her expired popcorn. The popcorn was fine. Merchandise Outlet buys food nearing its Best By date and sells it at a discount. The food is still good and safe. They would be shut down if it were not. (They also sell products other than food, too. A mix of everything. You should really check it out.) The store has notices posted EVERYWHERE discussing Best By Dates, Expiration Dates, etc. You cannot miss the signs. If the popcorn lady somehow missed them, then I am shocked that she DID manage to see the Best By date on her product.The staff has always been friendly. Sometimes you might have to wait a minute or three to get rung up, but good luck avoiding that at....well...anywhere.The negative reviews I see about this store are silly. I am telling you that they can(and should) safely be ignored. And no, I do not work for this company. I am posting this because I like the store and I think it is a great resource for people in and around the Traverse City area. You can get a lot of stuff here for cheap, and that is important in a region where the average income is lower than the cost of living.

There is always a long line at check out. Three different times I have returned the merchandise I was going to purchase back to the shelves because I didnt have time to wait behind five or six people. The cashier is slower and theres only one of them.

I went to buy some sleep vitamins and was surprised to see they were only 1 dollar! As checking out it rung up 10 dollars, they went to check to see and it was the only one, they still sold it to me for one dollar but was extremely rude and snarky! On the way home I wanted to look up how much they were an Amazon and came to find they werent in my bags, so I went back to see if they were still there. When I came back I asked the cashier if she accidentally left them out and she wouldnt make eye contact with me and told another lady to deal with me. I came to find out she purposely left it out and they were accusing of switching the labels :)) I am definitely not coming back again, if I could give zero stars I would.

I go about every 2 weeks looking for something new. You never know what you will find. Beware of food because most is outdated or close to it.
