Darin is the best. Not only did he listen to me describe my trucks bizarre behavior, but went on several drives, over multiple days, to diagnose the problem. He fixed what he found wrong after dissecting the transfer case, and then later, when the original problem was still there, replaced the hubs without charging me for them! I cant imagine better service.

They left my exhaust loose which vapor locked my car then didnt put the right level of fluid all for 50 more than they quoted with a new partWhich they didnt even put in they are ripoffs and dangerous

Polite, quick service

Darin saved my butt when my car automatically locked while I was warming it up and my spare set was in my purse, already in the car....can you tell, Ive done this before.....just a week prior actually. Something is wrong with my automatic locks..its not supposed to do this! Its Saturday morning at 7 a.m., I had to walk to a neighbor who would answer the door that early and thank goodness he knew to call A-1 and said he does lock out service as well. Darin came to my rescue within 45 minutes! He has worked on my vehicles for years and is a friend for life! Highly recommend Darin...honest, good mechanic and knows his business! And how to break into cars when you get locked out!

Lost our wheel studs and tire on our way home from Stonewall, Co. came and got us and the trailer we were pulling. Worked diligently and got us back on the road. Cost was more than reasonable. Thank you!!

Wonderful customer service and professional mechanical diagnosis. After being fleeced of $600 at another auto repair business in Trinidad I took my truck to A-1. Upon arriving we were promptly attended to and accompanied on a trouble shooting ride along. During the ride along we experienced tenured, honest, and thorough analysis of the problem. Before the ride along we were convinced we had major transmission issues and we had shared this with the owner. After the ride along he assured us we didn’t have a transmission problem and were in fact just experiencing a cylinder misfire. He told us given the minor misfire we would be safe to drive back to Oklahoma and charged us NOTHING! He absolutely could have hit us for a $2500 transmission and we would’ve been non the wiser. These are excellent, honest, and friendly people that I would absolutely go out of my way to do business with. When in doubt take your vehicle to A-1!!!

I tried every mechanics shop in Trinidad and always ended up with more issues because the problem was never addressed fully or fixed completely and correctly. Come here first, you will be taken care of. Hes thorough and professional and will do a full diagnostic and inspection and will get it right. Worth every dollar! Amazing experience! we were driving through trinidad from out of town on a saturday at 4 pm when our engine overheat light came on. we called darin at A-1 and he was at the rest stop in less than 20 minutes, went back to his shop to get us coolant and then checked our car at his shop. he had us test drive it for about 15 miles while he waited for us. he was incredibly helpful, kind and generous with his time to help our family. we are so thankful for his help and would highly recommend him.

A-1 Automatics and Towing is a honest and reliable company. We had trouble with one of our fleet vehicles and A-1 stepped in gave us excellent customer service and great workmanship. They could have taken advantage of our situation but they did not and we highly recommend them.

All i can say is outstanding customer service period. Our transfer case basically blowup on 25 and A1 came to the rescue. They seen what happen and they jumped into action. They basically rebuilt the case and had us on our way within the time frame they promised. Fully met and exceeded out expectations. Great job guys. Ran great all the way to Clearwater beach. If we ever get back that way the beer will be on us.

I cannot recommend A-1 Automatics highly enough. I was passing through Trinidad from Houston, Texas when a problem developed with my manual transmission. I had my truck towed to A-1 where they diagnosed my problem within an hour or so. They had a part shipped overnight and I was back on the road the next afternoon. On top of all that they drove me to and from my Motel. Great people there!

I called in with a concern about my transmission. Although I was not able to take my vehicle there, the owner was very helpful over the phone and gave me great advice on what I could do to fix my trucks problem on my own.

My pop recently had his transmission replaced here in his old Ford truck. They did a fantastic job, communicated everything very well, and had it done in a very timely manner. Its a brand new truck! Highly recommend.

Came up on vacation didn’t make it and this shop took my truck on a holiday and got my truck fixed in 2 days. Can say enough good about this place

I had my trucks transmission rebuilt here in June 2016, and it was great during the warranty period of 12 months or (I believe 10k miles). Once my truck was past the mileage part of the warranty in about April 2017, my tranny started needing to be warmed up for a minute to engage reverse. I paid $2200 for the rebuild, and after selling the truck in July to friends of mine from Texas, found out that the delayed reverse engagement issue will require the tranny to be internally checked/serviced again. Eratic fluid levels didnt help, but now my former truck will need another tranny service. :(
