Great service and experience reasonably priced even during COVID-19

Bought a four wheeler for our son. TCG updates their website daily so you know what is in stock or when it can be available. Spoke with Rich on the phone and in person, went through the ATV with us. Had a great experience.

Walked in wanting to buy a bike. Not many options to choose from. Plus sales agent looked at me and my friends like deer at headlights. Greeted him with a “how are you doing” to strike conversation about ordering a bike. Replied “good” smirked then I could tell he wanted nothing to do with us. Proceeds to walk away right past us, hands holding behind back. So we decided to leave and go to another garage. Sales men by 4 wheelers not very friendly

Was noticed right away, got to sit on a few bikes. There is no test riding at this dealer. They offer financing and have a wide array of bikes. If you buy the bike there you get 10% off riding gear.

Called for pricing for the work Im about to have on my bike on my up coming appointment and was talked to very rude besides that I was told I wasnt making my own prices I never asked to make my own was trying to get a estimate I dont think anyone walks into a store and says give me everything not knowing what the total price will be. service is very bad your lucky anyone even comes to your store anymore change that attitude or no one is coming back

All staff is terrible. Yamaha, Honda must have to close this dealership. Avoid this place, dont buy anything from them. Dont support these losers.

I had to get some parts for my dirt bike. The staff was very helpful getting the parts I needed. I had to order them and wait for some of the parts to come in. The service was very fast. The parts came in with in a few days. Very polite and courteous staff to help you.

Purchased a Kawasaki Z900, 3 weeks ago. Excellent Service, Rich was great. I read all the negative reviews, but I had a great experience. I went in on a Saturday, and the place was busy, I would have been 6th in line to get service, so I left. I called, spoke to Rich, he said Saturdays were really busy days, so I decided to go in on a Thursday. I was in and out in less than an hour with my new Z900 in hand. Great bike, great price, great service. What more could you ask for ?

Had a fine experience buying my z900 here. Rich was very helpful over the phone and in person, and made the process very smooth. This was the first bike I personally have purchased at a dealer, though have been with my father at dealers many times before, and my experience at TCG was just as good as any I have had. Other comments mention Rich is short worded, but honestly once you start talking he opens up and is very helpful. The service staff was equally helpful in my service visits. Seems like there are a lot of haters in the reviews.

Ive had almost a dozen tires either replaced or had a tube put in. Justin has been the main guy Ive worked with and hes been nothing but friendly. Answers all my questions without an attitude and is a pleasure to work with. Ive also dealt with the kids at the parts counter and theyve been pretty easy to work with also. One of them seems to be on a high horse, but still not a complete a-hole. Getting some repairs done on my quad today and will post my experience after, since this is the first time Im letting them work on my bike.

Owner is a real pos. Went in there to purchase a bike and he had such a horrible attitude. He must not know how to deal in customer service. When asked his name he hid behind his mask. I would never recommend going there for any bikes or products. Can’t even ask a question without being talk to like a child. Worst place to look or even try to purchase a bike.

Recently purchased a new KLX300R from Troy City and the process couldnt have gone smoother. Purchased a total of three vehicles from Troy City over the past 10 years and worked with a different sales person each time. Even recently had a small cosmetic issue that I noticed after taking delivery of my bike that theyre taking care of, no questions asked. This place is great, they dont mark up items and you walk out not even questioning the price you paid, cause its FAIR!

Decent motorcycle shop, knowledgeable service people, limited selections to see on the floor but you can probably attribute that to the current times, lots of foot traffic during the time I was there it must be a favorite of the locals

The older Sales man was very rude & impolite to people on the phone as well to me . Lied about calling me several times & sold the bike Which I put a down payment months ago but couldnt even hold it for 10 days for me & put me back of waiting list.Two canceled orders including myself because of him.

I went there last weekend to buy a leftover brand new 2018 ninja 400 and it was a great experience. I saw the negative reviews but I had no issues like others stated. Some of them seem like they came to this place with a chip already on their shoulder or were upset they didnt read or ask about the store policies. Since the ninja 400 was a leftover, I got an excellent deal. Their website is phenomenal. Everything has accurate prices, they fully disclose the freight charges, so I knew exactly how much cash to bring to purchase the bike. I had been following their prices since last year and waited until I could get a 2018 leftover. The salesman (sorry cant remember the name -- older, tall, thin with glasses) was excellent. I personally dont like being hounded by salesmen when I walk into a store, so it didnt bother me that I had to call over the salesman. He was watching us, giving us time to look over the bike. He was very friendly, the purchase took maybe 15min, and they got the bike ready to load within 20 min. He also helped load it unto our truck and tie it down, which was really nice of him. My boyfriend was also interested in seeing their Kawi Z400 and the salesman took it out for him to sit on it. We never felt rushed, nor were we treated poorly or like idiots. Id recommend this place to anyone looking for a great price and wonderful customer service.

I wish I could rate this place negative numbers. DO NOT GO HERE!!!On their website they list all sort of bikes they can order ot states they can order them. I Emailed them and a salesman named Rich emailed me back and said that he could order it for me at the price specified. I sent another email to make sure they could and he said yes.We drove an hour and 15 mins over there to order this bike. We went there to buy a new bike. When I asked if I could sit on a similar one ( every bike has a sign not to sit) he gave me an attitude about sitting on it and having to move it so I can sit on it.I then try to buy a new motorcycle and he now tells me that the bike he said he could order is not available for ordering outside of California. And then he just blew me off, no concern that I went in their to spend money. Total waste of my time. The next day I bought a new bike elsewhere.My girlfriend also spent almost 400 on presents for her son, we were told we could bring the coat back if it was not right.He did not want the coat so she called today, 1 week to then day later, to return it and she was told they do not take returns. HOW DOES A BUSINESS NOT TAKE RETURNS? She was told by a manager its on the receipt, so in other words AFTER you buy it your told you cannot return it.So we lose out on 150 dollar coat because of their no return policy which we were not told about. Atrocious place to do business!!!

Bought a new 2013 max 1300 it was a 2 year old new left over, nice bike 6 months into ownership the battery died!! Brought the battery in to be checked and they charged it and it was toast! Recieved a new original equipment battery with no hassle,they stood by the warranty with no issues!!

The dealership lowballs on trades and calls it “over allowing” when I say I got a better offer elsewhere. The salesman got totally offended and was rude and said “ Go somewhere else then” and hung up on me. By the way I was a referred by previous customers of theirs. Now I will be letting the people who referred me about my very quick and awful experience.

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a salesman. I simply came in shopping for a motorcycle and the older gentleman was the most rude person I have ever met.I simply asked a couple questions about the grom and a kawasaki i was asking what was a good starter bike and was given short answers. Today I walked in and was looking at what I planned on purchasing waiting for someone to walk over like they usually do at power sport stores. Well 2 older guys walked in about 2 mins behind me they sales man got right up and went straight to them. I had cash to buy in my pocket. Not a word was said to me. Just because people may fit into a profile you may have developed in the shop doesn’t mean they aren’t worth your time.

Went in to look at bikes that I seen on line. I looked around no pressure. Once I seen on I wanted to sit on I got the sale man. He was great, answered all my questions and gave me all the time I needed to make my choice. The transaction was fast and painless. Will buy from again. The first ride was great. Thank you.

I recently bought a new ATV from Rich and had a great experience. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. Paperwork was done in a few minutes, he showed me the ins and outs of the machine and told me what I should look for servicing it down the road. Very much like everyone else said I did not get that welcoming feeling. I went into the store yesterday to check out a bike i saw on their website. I was in the store for maybe 25 minutes before being greeted. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, the store was kind of busy but other employees did lay eyes on me and not say a word. I was actually about to get ready to leave before I took my last look at two bikes trying to figure out which would be a good starter bike when I was approached by an older gentleman name Rich. I asked him a couple questions about 2 bikes and he did reply with short answers. I guess hes more of a laid-back salesman not the pushy type but straight to the point type i guess. Anyway make a long story short I went in there today and again I was in there for maybe 20 minutes before being greeted. So due to the lack of customer service I would say its not a welcoming store but they do have a lot of cool stuff in there marked at reasonable prices. I am only giving them 2 stars due to the lack of theyre customer service skills. As far as prices goes I dont know too much about bikes, scooters, and other stuff but the prices seem reasonable....

Just purchased a 2016 Artic Cat from Rich at Troy City Garage. Dont believe any of the negative reviews. These guys were great to deal with and extremely friendly. I traded two sleds in on the new one and I received an extremely fair price for both of them. I will DEFINITELY do business with them again and I will be sure to tell all of my friends to go see Rich! Phenomenal experience, thanks again!

Worst salesman ever horrible service very rude not willing to help you at all I do not recommend anybody going there to buy anything I bought a brand new Kawasaki four wheeler had an issue with it to less than a week ago and they were not do anything to help me they told me to call Kawasaki and they were extremely rude. Then he proceeded to tell me that I wasn’t an engineer so I don’t know if my tire was supposed to be tipped 2 inches and only one tire...

I Purchased my first bike from this place about 9 months ago and my experience was not the best due to the lack of customer service. Last week Inwent in to look around and was greeted by Rich again with excellent customer service, We looked at a couple bikes together and I told him Ill be back. Today 1/21/19 I went in and I was greeted by Rich again. Rich is definitely an amazing salesman hes laid-back thats his motto. Theyre not pushy here which is great and I love that about them. Me and Rich talk again for a little bit and then I purchase my second bike from here, they gave me an amazing deal on a brand new bike and offered to hold the bike until the spring time. YES!! Great customer service at its finest lol..I would definitely be returning here more and more! Since my last review they made some improvements! At this point I will recommend anyone!

Bought a 2016 grizzly 700 EPS, price was pretty much best around, service was good. I had an issue a week after purchase with the steering being slightly out of straight- I called them and the told me to come back and fixed it within the hour of calling. Good shop.

I dont recommend anyone of color deal with these people .... there all a bunch of racist rednecks.....worst customer service ever!!! I watched as they greeted there white customers and never once spoke to me or acknowledge me whats so ever... I had to ask for service... The guy I spoke to acted as if he didnt want me to help me, I was talked down to and I felt like he was trying to rush me outta the store by his short responses. I was treated rudely and unprofessionally while the other employees there were giving me dirty looks that I took as them saying people like me with my colored skin werent welcomed there. they made me feel very uncomfortable and treated me as if I did something wrong for just being there. I asked the guy that was rude to me if I could speak to his manager and he told me NO! He said he was the owner and that he didnt want me there, he told me to get leave with a look of disgust on his face. I dont know why or how they can getaway with treating people like this, something needs to be done! This place needs to be shut down!!!! Anyone with a similar story please come forward and leave a review of your own and lets expose these racist for who they really are!

Want to feel like your business doesnt matter? Want to deal with the worst group of sales folks? Want to pay full price and watch them tell you there is nothing they can do and then get the same item quoted waaaaaaay less somewhere else? Then this is the place to shop. Punch yourself in the nut$ and pay them a visit. If youre someone that values their time, money and wants to feel like your business matters, I would recommend ANYWHERE else. What a sad group of people. The young guy at the parts dept helpful but feels like a funeral service in every other dept. Quoted a bike for $8100. A penny over MSRP!!!! Same bike, $6800 at another shop and the salesmans face didnt almost break trying to crack a smile AND I got to sit on it without someone telling me I had to wait for a robot of a salesman. I thought it was just a bad day there..and then it was repeated. However, in speaking with others, this is the norm. I cant believe this place survives. Do yourself a favor and start somewhere else. If you have to start here, check them on price. I promise you their service and attention is not worth the extra cost compared to other dealers.

We were in the store for 15 minutes, and not one person said hello or how can I help you? We walked past 5 employees, yes, 5!!!!!!!!!!! How can you do business without a welcoming environment? Did we have to say that we wanted to buy something for you to come advise us on a few items? We left with NOTHING because we felt so out of place. GET SOME CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING. A simple, hello, can I help you can go a long way! We will NEVER EVER EVER come back here or give this place business.

Just called about a new motorcycle and was greeted with what I felt was less than a very encouraging or respectful response. I dont enjoy being talked down to and at 68 years of age certainly can recognize a hurried disrespectful​ntone of voice. I have done business with these folks before and felt like I was intruding on them due to their somewhat disrespectful and brief response s. Their loss because I was genuinely interested in purchasing a Honda Valkyrie motorcycle. After having dealt with a BMW motorcycle dealer just before having called this dealership, the contrast between my very pleasant interaction with the BMW dealership and less than pleasant interaction with Troy City Garage salesperson was extremely obvious. Maybe their sales people should try calling a few other dealers to learn what encouraging, pleasant interaction is all about.

Absolutely horrible! Will do work on your vehicle without your permission and charge you 140$ in labor hours for an oil change! I highly recommend you shop somewhere else and if you have already purchase here, take you vehicle somewhere else for service!On top of that the manager doesnt even have the courtesy to come talk to you about an issue instead he just relies it through his employees.GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Ive purchased two motorcycles from Troy City Garage in the past and I can only say that they treated me nicely and had a good experience with the repair department. There are signs on all the bikes NOT to sit on them unless you get assistance from the sales department. If you sit on a bike and they get upset, its YOUR fault not theirs.

Well I called to ask a question on the prices on line. I got the most arrogant person on the other line. He told well scroll down its all there. What kind of sales person is this? I was interested in spending 11000.00 plus there. I went else where and got treated great. So I guess If you want to be treated bad go see these guys. Im not going to. I am only posting 1 star because I cant post no stars.

Just picked up my R1M and I wanted to say THANK YOU to Jim and his staff. This is a rare bike and very few dealers could get their hands on one. Jim not only got one but he sold it to me for a couple thousand $$ less than any other dealer was advertising. This isnt the first bike Ive purchased from Troy City and it will not be the last. Awesome experience, start to finish.

Bought a 2016 brute force and have nothing but nice things to say, very helpful and accommodating. Even Greg from the service department made me feel safe bringing an old machine in to have it checked out. I always hear bad things about these guys, still waiting to see it for myself.

My experience was actually pretty good in the end. The wait at this dealership is way shorter than what I am used to at most other bike shops. No wait in a bike shop is short unless you go in on a snowy midweek day.

Today I came here with service issues. ..The two gentlemans sitting by the desk were looking at their phones, ignoring me . Finally the one on the right told me that they dont deal with this particular issue .I was sent to the back garage . Older fork lift operator approached me, starting conversation with f.... Word. Swearing at me... I was shocked . What kind of manners.l.No basic customer service skills.

Please avoid this dealer! Dont expect them to do the right thing. In the end youll regret doing business with them!

I called about a few parts for my old Honda motorcycle. They were very quick and friendly, told me everything I needed to know without having to ask a million questions. When I came in to pick it up they had it on the counter waiting for me.

Worst service ever experienced. Older sales man very very rude from the start. I was planning on buying that day but after dealing with sales man I walked out and went to another place and bought a side by side. Never ever go anywhere near that place again

Pricey but you get what you pay for. Bought a few bikes here now and like em. Was gonna buy the last one at the Suzuki place on Central in Schenectady but that owner guy was a total tool so came back and paid a little more. Lots of inventory for those of you looking but not set on one type of machine.

Been by this place a million times but was never in the market for any new toys (usually I already had one). Now that Im motorcycle-less and looking to buy, I took the day off to make a visit. Walked in with nearly $20g cash in my pockets. Knew what kind of bike I wanted, but unfortunately after looking around for 20min I realized they didnt have the model I wanted. Finally the dorky, twirp salesman came over and after confirming they didnt have the bike, I asked about a used bike I spotted. Salesman seemed annoyed to even answer my questions on the bike even though the place was empty (I shouldve taken the fact that the place was deserted as a sign). Sorry to bother you dude! Jesus. I asked if I could sit on the bike (because they have stupid signs on every bike not to sit on them, really?), and he rolls his eyes and makes a face while saying ugh I guess so. The dialogue that followed was the kicker for me though;Me: so whats your policy on demo rides? I have my own helmet and gear in the truckDork: we dont do test rides on bikes...*awkward silence and staring since I assumed he was joking*Me: what? really?Dork: yepMe: wow, Ive bought over 20 bikes and would never buy a bike without riding it first. And nobody I ride with would eitherDork: welp we cant help ya thenSeriously? You think Im going to hand over $15grand without trying it out first? Get a clue. I left and will never go back. Took the 1min drive up the road to BMW and was greeted at the door as if they knew me for years. After talking to the awesome saleswoman and her showing me bikes that fit my wants/needs, I was torn between 3 bikes, all very different from each other. Well within 15 minutes all 3 were outside ready to test ride. In the end BMW got a $17000 cash sale and Im happy as can be. The bike is awesome and the people there were great. I would never recommend TCG and now that I think about it, whenever I go by there is ZERO cars in the parking lot. Place needs to take lessons on customer service and after reading the other reviews about rude employees and ridiculous policies I see Im not the only one. No clue how theyre still around if the general experience is similar to mine.

I have visited 2 times in the last year, nothing but a good experience for me, dont understand why so many people have problems. Rich (owner) was a pleasure to talk to, i asked many questions and he answered everyone. I will be seeing him this week to put a deposit on 2018 King Quad PS...Picked my atv up wednesday the 4th. I just bought a new atv from them the service was great and there pricing is cheaper then most other dealers in the capital region.

I decided to never go here after seeing the bad reviews and watching a video of their bad customer service 2 years ago. After calling 3 local places that didnt have my tire in stock, I was out of options. They had my tire in stock and the price was far below other places that quoted me. Initially said they couldnt change it Saturdays, but said if I got it in early they would. I made the call at 9 am and my bike was fixed by 11am the same day. Quick service and my opinion is that they may have had bad reviews, but theyre doing their best to make up for it. So I rated 5 stars because of how everything was handled. They did not offer anything more or add any more services than I asked for.

I was so impressed with the way Jim and Janice handled my wifes transaction that I traded in my Harley Davidson and bought a Roadliner 1900. We are very happy with the way we were treated and will recommend TCG in the future to anyone asking about bikes.
