Buyer beware. This place overcharges you and then asks if you want a receipt expecting you to say no. I was overcharged by $10 on my purchase and would not have known unless I had asked for the receipt. This is the first bad review I’ve ever had to post for any business, and I’m not happy doing it. The guy at the counter who overcharged me knew what he was doing and never apologized, although he refunded all the money when caught. I ended up returning the item I purchased. Will happily add photos of receipts if proof is needed. Again, just beware. And always ask for a receipt from this place whether offered or not. I have a feeling this is standard practice. I should add that I had never been there before, so locals may not have the same issue.

The employees dont wear masks when customers arent around. This totally defeats the purpose of wearing a mask to prevent an airborne virus from spreading. Its not just about covering up when customers are around, yall.

FRESH YEAST!!!! Huge selection of supplies for beer, wine, cheese, soda, mushroom growing,.... Knowledgeable, helpful staff. If youre looking for something they dont have, they will do their best to locate a supplier. Store has expanded (again), so now occupies much of its little strip mall. They have a news letter with upcoming events .

Very friendly staff and the prices are some of the best in the area. However the store is a germ factory. They spend most of the day in the back handling returned cans and when they come up to the counter they don’t wash their hands. They also have a community pen on the counter that’s disgusting. Always bring hand sanitizer and a pen with you when you go here.

Those reviews were definitely done by employees. The guy who works there at the register is rude and if you bring in a bag of cans and you dont count them He will rip you off. So count them yourself first.

Sorry but the one I went to the beer was old

Went to the 5th Avenue store first, but when I went in and saw the dirt on the floor, heavy dust on the shelves, bottles and cases and minuscule selection of quality imports; I immediately left for the Northern Drive store. This store while cleaner wasnt much better. I did find a couple English ales and got them to save me a further trip. When I got home I discovered that the beer was one year PAST its best by date!! Well, serves me right for not making the effort to drive the extra few minutes to my usual store, Savemore Beverage in Halfmoon. Im guessing that Beer Universe translated, literally means: inner city type booze shop where you can get your daily dose of cheap beer! Never again; I learned my lesson.For those who gave these stores good 5 star reviews, claiming great selection and prices...they must be buying...I darent even say it...spiked seltzer, Michelob Ultra, Budweiser or the ever popular inner city type favourite, Colt 45 and just SEEING lots of cases of other stuff lying around collecting dust and growing old. If you dont believe me...journey there yourself, but you have been warned.

Bought from 5th Ave location Lansingburgh. Guinness was extremely flat no foam at all when poured from the bottle.Store was extremely dirty, will try the Northern Drive location to give this chain a second chance.

Called ahead because i lived 20mins away to Maker sure they had a beer in stock . Guy said yes on phone and when i get there no beer and he says i never checked to make sure ! Thanks buddy ! Selection is ehh for the term universe !
