One of my favorite coffee places. The coffee is great, and the place is cozy. It is a nice spot to get a cup of coffee and chill in the back outside area in good weather. The back area area is filled with rocks and has picnic tables.

Ive been a time or two previously, was cute but wasnt motivated to go back since I rarely go out for coffee.And then I had their Warm & Fuzzy drink and I went back three times in one week! During that time, I had the Toast with Butter and Pear Vanilla jam (amazing little snack). Another time, I had the Chicka Boom Boom Sandwich and I almost cried it was so good. Not your usual sandwich, but super light, perfectly filling, and tasty with some kick, but still really clean tasting. I almost went back the next day for the same sandwich. Lovely place, great coffee, cutest shop, and the best mugs anyone could ask for!

Very creative! Almost seems like a hippie style which is really cool! Even the sandwiches have a hippie taste believe it or not. They even put these really cool flowers on the sandwiches!

Been here a few times before and Ive lived the evolution of the business each time. I got the Sunday bagel special with the vegan option cream cheese and a can of yesfolk. Yum! Great service from everyone Ive interacted with here.

Coffee drinks are unique and super delicious! Their toast is a meal. One of my favorites was the goat cheese with blackberries, basil and lemon zest. Out back is a hip patio space, and their shop carries all sorts of arty items. Highly recommend this unique place!

What a beautiful space! I stopped by twice in one day because of their bright, hip, and interesting vibe; minimal yet stunning decor, some of the best coffee Ive ever had, and (most exciting of all) Califia Almond Milk and a vegan pastry. What would have tipped it over to 5 stars for me would be (1) a few more vegan options, and (2) free wifi. Having said that, its definitely the best coffee shop in Troy (and Albany) and I look forward to visiting regularly whenever Im in town!

Coffee and food were both amazing! I got the everything bagel avocado toast and the lavender latte. The only issue is that the woman working was not wearing her mask. I believe it was the owner (tall with blonde hair). The other employees were wearing masks, but the one lady without her mask was making most of the drinks, which was a bit disappointing to see because I’ve heard such amazing things about the place. Overall, everything was great, but I’d appreciate it of all employees wore their mask properly ☺️

Very cute bohemian style cafe. Good coffee and tea. I got one of their teas that had hibiscus in it& they garnished it with a beautiful flower. They have great presentation & nice staff. Staff doesnt go above& beyond but theyre friendly. The merchandise is unique, probably a good place to buy last minute thoughtful gifts. Side note: NO WIFI

Superior Merchandise doesnt just have great coffee, but they also make some of the most creative and delicious speciality drinks Ive ever had (love their matcha in the summer, Warm & Fuzzy in the winter)! Pastries are also super yummy. It doesnt hurt that the store and shop are very *aesthetic*

Things I loved: the friendly barista Tommy, the latte, the white brick walls (so bright), the plants, the spaciousness, the gifts/merchandise section in the front. And I’m sure you could find me in the back garden area 24/7 in the summer, if I lived in the area.

Such delicious, superior sourced coffee, knowledgeable baristas, and innovative drinks! Its our second time here and Im LOVING this place. Will be back again and again. PS, pictured is their outdoor back patio, complete with boxed garden and tables, and it is fantastic for the corona-conscious but thirsty customer.

Best coffee in Troy and some of the best coffee in all of the Capital Region. Small but very relaxing space out back, couple of taps for craft beer and a shop up front with some pretty unique things for sale. Best thing to do is come in the summer, grab a cold coffee drink and sit outside in the front.

I cant go to Troy without visiting Superior Merchandise. Staff is always friendly, helpful, and great conversation during less busy hours. The amount of care they put into this business is so obvious in their products (especially the coffee) and the atmosphere. Extremely covid safety compliant too! One of the most deserved 5 star ratings out there.

Friendly and helpful staff. The sourdough avocado toast was very good. The brioche toast with peanut butter and raspberry jalapeno jelly was too. They have a nice eclectic selection of gift and food items too.

I came from out of town and was very happy about this place. Definitely the best coffee I came across in the area.Their toast options were also very interesting and had exciting and healthy ingredients. Delicious.Will be back any time I end up in the area! Great local spot. The interior is decked out with plants and goods from local (predominantly female!) artists. Coffee is delicious, and they always have tons of vegan options on the menu which is amazing esp since its 2019 and animal cruelty is going out of style 🌿

Hip and trendy feel. Nice option to sit out in back patio. Not much of a good selection as I was told by the staff person they have toast and handed a menu. But as another review mentioned a year ago, no wifi. Still worth checking out and a nice option for Troy.

Not a place to work. Especially not a place to bring a laptop. That’s what I look for in a coffee shop. Superior is very intentionally not that. It’s a much better place to go if you want to have a conversation with a human being and look at some odd decorations and cards.

I was going for a walk one evening to calm myself...I decided I would stop in one of my favorite places to eat and say hello to some people at Troy Kitchen, when I came across the Superior Merchandise Company. I went inside out of curiosity because of the sidewalk appeal, and found that this place is adorable! The people, the ambiance, service, and light fare was a little touch of heaven for me! Definitely added to my Favorites now.

Great latte and served at the perfect temp. We were in town visiting relatives and were looking for a local place to check out. The employees are friendly and know what they are serving to you. I asked what they were using in their espresso and the percentages and origins were rattled off. Ive never had that happen!

I really like this coffee shop and love coming here to treat myself whenever I am in the area. Today I was disappointed because I had an unusually negative experience. I play with a local orchestra but drive from the NYC area, and right before our rehearsal, I was in dire need of caffeine after the 2.5 hour drive up. The moment I walked in it seemed to happen to be at the same time as a handful of others. After taking the orders of three people ahead of us, the staff member told us to wait a moment. She was preparing a dish as quickly as she could, and the other barista was fulfilling espresso orders. My dad and I ended up waiting for over ten minutes for our order to be taken, and when we expressed we were in a bit of a hurry, we were surprised to be met with an attitude from the barista. We were only ordering drip coffees to go, and I did not think we were being pushy or rude. It was hard to not feel a very negative vibe from her until we left. She made a point to be extremely kind to every other patron around us that she delivered drinks to or asked how their orders were and was very purposefully cold towards us. I had never experienced this here before, and I was shocked. I have worked in service, and no matter how insistent the customer, I was trained to be polite. Maybe she was having a bad day, but I would expect superior service always from the Superior Merchandise Co.

This place is my favorite coffee place in all the land. Fantastic service, friendly and knowledgable. Walked in one time just as they were closing and was still offered a drink and all the time we wanted to hang and enjoy.

One of Troys gems. Perfectly crafted pour over coffees and great espresso. Coffee varieties change every few weeks or so and they always pick interesting choices. The storefront has a Muji-like feel. This is a great spot to bring friends, a date, or just hang out.

I recently moved to Oregon and I miss coming into Superior Merchandise! Owners Felicity and Mike are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about their frequently rotating food menu items, coffees, and products from local artists.A great place in Troy to sit down at the bar or outdoor and make friends over an espresso, beer, or kombucha! 10/10 baristas- especially Caitlin :)

A nauseatingly chic coffee place. these places exist by the thousands in brooklyn. this one is no different. overpriced, and mediocre products that are sold using buzzwords/trends. a barista told me i absolutely HAD to try these delicious $6 gourmet almonds. what i got was about less than a handful of barely seasoned plain raw almonds. i still get dragged here a lot because peers insist on its atmosphere and aesthetic. its pretty superficial. staff is very friendly though.EDIT: nope, this was definitely the place i went to where i was sold almonds. you were pretty good in that Theory of Everything movie though. best regards.

Friendly & funky baristas, life changing sunlight, beautiful curated goods, and flavors so good you might dream about them. After the first visit this became one of my favorite places - not just in the capital region, but anywhere! This shop is thoughfilly put together for a wonderful coffee-goer experience.

I love this place. The best coffee around and best of all, no wifi! Not all their seating is taken up for hours by single people on computers. It’s usually very easy to grab seats with your friends and actually talk to one another!
