Great tiny shop!! Owner is friendly, personable, knowledgeable. I have observed him interacting with professional studio musicians and novice kids. He brings the same respect and enthusiasm to every interaction. He has worked on my $500 and $3000 guitars. Excellent, clean, fast work. Top notch operation.

I have a little story to share with everyone. I have been searching for quite some time an Ampeg V4 head to use with my 4X12 cabinet. I love the Classic Rock Tones that I grew up with. One of my favorites of all time is Mick Taylor with The Stones from 1969-74. They all used the Ampeg Ampsand the cabs live in their shows and in the studio at that time. A sound you search and search for if thats what your into. When I saw that not only one but two were up for sale at Love of Fuzz? I had to look into that.I messaged the store and not even 5 minutes go by, no BS. They got back to me and answered all my questions. I told them that Im very interested in either one. Can you tell me the differences. They did, and I said I have a loooong trip to you, I will go there tomorrow. I did just that, it took me nearly 3 hours to get too lol. When I got there I was immediately greeted by both TJ and Matt. I didnt tell them right away who I was. Just to let you know that Its not your Guitar Center that you have to track some idiotdown to god forbid buy something lol. As soon as I told him, damn you guys are far lol. I said my name and all smiles. They had me look at the two amps I asked about and They were willing to hook up both for me to try out, I said dont bother, tell me more about this Ampeg I picked out of the two and hooked, up played and so on. They handed me an old Beautiful Gibson ES-335 Cherry Red. Think about all the greats that played that guitar, right? not only a great guitar $3000 worth of guitar, worth every penny, problem is that I only had the pennies for the amp. After checking out what the amp can do and noodled around, I said I want to buy the Amp and they sold it to me, thank God I was at the right place. Its like finding a needle in a haystack for these old Ampegs. I left one for some lucky person who wants to buy an Ampeg V4, it can be yours. What a place for vintage equipment, sprinkled with some new. I cant say enough about TJ and Matt what down to earth guys that know their stuff in and out. Not some stupid kids avoiding customers. I dont care if something costs me more or if I have to travel for a good find. Its all about the service for me. It was a fantastic price too!! At Love of Fuzz, you get something great with the excellent service. Thats rare nowadays. In todays times Id rather give business to the ones that deserve. Oh, TJ services what he sells whetherits coming in or your drop off. Stop looking around, give these guys a shot, you will be more than happy.

Highly recommend, this shop has all the necessities you would need as a practicing musician with some really cool vintage gear sprinkled throughout the shop. Honestly though what’s sets this shop apart from others is TJ the owner. He’s extremely handy if you’re in need of repairs, upgrades or just a simple set up and just a good dude. Give him your business

A bit of a long-winded review, but I went to TJ for some help regarding a 7 string baritone set up. A bit of background info on the issue: had to put heavier gauge strings on my guitar and needed some assistance in filing down the nut a bit to accommodate the low string. After trying the latter on my own, I decided that I needed the help of a professional. TJ not only made sure the guitar was set up correctly, but was very transparent in his methods. After encountering the same buzz near the nut that was present prior to bringing it to Love of Fuzz (after receiving the guitar back), TJ encouraged me to stop in and worked on the guitar for a considerable amount of time diagnosing the problem as a string related issue and took steps to ensure the same issue wouldnt happen again. Considering that this was more of a user error based issue, the way TJ worked proactively and diligently to address the problem is a true testament of TJs work. Definitely has my trust and business for future music related purchases and maintenance.

Dropped by primarily because my friend is looking to replace a lost Big Muff pedal. Place is pretty new, and the owner TJ is full of refreshing enthusiasm. He told us he is staying focused in the service mission on tube amp sales and service -- and he had an impressive array of vintage amps from all makers, many at very attractive prices. Not a lot of fuzz boxes, but several intriguing toys. As a vintage keyboard owner I was interested in whether he would be repairing keyboards, the answer is no, and thats kay, its not everybodys cp of tea. If you like to drool over vintage amps, swing by here either before or after nearby Collar City Guitars, it makes for a fun couple of hours.

For years, my happy place has been a certain much-loved guitar shop in Clifton Park. The only down-side to that relationship has been the distance I must travel to get there since I live east of Troy.Well now I have another happy place and this one is much closer! Love of Fuzz is a funky, friendly place to hang out, shoot the sh*t, and check out the coolest old-school, hard-to-find, Never-thought-Id-see-one-of-those-in-the-flesh gear. If your idea of a cool music shop is row after row of nothing but new guitars from Fender and Gibson, this may not be the place for you. But if you want to see instruments and amps with real hard-won mojo, check out LoF. There is also I nice selection of new and used pedals to drool over along with strings, parts, and other necessities of musical life. And the inventory/selection is expanding with each passing week.TJ, the owner, is friendly and enthusiastic, with top-drawer repair know-how, a customer service attitude second to none, and a laser focus on creating a space that can be the hub of a musical community.Getting great deals from an on-line retailer may feel good in the short run, but none of them will allow you to develop real human relationships with fellow musicians the way a place like Love of Fuzz will.So come on all you musicians on the east side of the Hudson, get down to Fulton street and support what is already proving to be a fantastic resource for us all. (And dont worry, well totally welcome all you folks from the other side of the river as well :^).
