Despite the current construction going on in the store...I was more than happy with my experience! Nick helped me out so much...was honest and not pushy when it came to recommending me to bump up to the next level of skates...I will recommend everyone to go to Pure Hockey in Troy for any and all needs! thanks guys!

This store is huge. Customer service was great, super helpful and not annoying at all. They sell everything for hockey and also sharpen skates. Prices a bit higher than in other stores but here you can find absolutely Anything and in all sizes,no doubt.

After leaving a few other retailers dissatisfied with selection and service, I ended up in Pure Hockey. I apologized for arriving 30 minutes before closing time and explained I know nothing about ice skates, but I’d like to get some for recreational use. Nick immediately stepped out from behind the counter and walked me over to the display. He asked some questions, gave some product information, and did an analysis of my feet on the Bauer 3D Skate Lab. I was then given an explanation of the results and an offer to try on a couple pairs of skates. While Nick was lacing me up, he was explaining proper fit and features of both models. Once I made my selection the skates were baked, steels sharpened and installed, and details on store policy and product care were provided. Although my transaction wasn’t complete until after business hours, I was never made to feel rushed or pressured in any way. I left the store confident in my selection and look forward to trying out my skates.

A complete store that has solid inventory for Hockey players. The store also has ample staff on hand to assist you. Now prices are a bit high and they do not tout marked down or reduced price inventory. However if you want the latest and greatest products and do not mind paying, this store will meet your desires.

I have been a lot of places and I skate a lot. This is the best spot to go to. They got better gear and inventory and the manager Scott was professional. Great place. Also, the employees do a great job. Love this place.

I was very happy with this place. The staff was incredibly friendly and worked great with my son. They were very knowledgeable and helped me out tremendously with the proper equipment and sizes. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the prices. I felt everything was priced unnecessarily high. But they do have everything you could ever need for hockey.

They have a pretty cool machine that helps measure your foot for skates. Tom was very helpful bought a pair for my son and feel very good about the purchase after going through a rigorous measurement process

Darren (or maybe Darrel?) Had a name tag that said supervisor and he seemed super helpful to myself and others in the store, very knowledgeable about skate sharpening to the gentleman in front of me. When I first entered the store, I was not given any help, however, and being my first time there, I wandered around a bit before finally asking for help. Apparently there were two other employees besides Darren and Im not sure what they were doing, but eventually one of them helped me and was also pleasant.

This is a good looking store with a decent inventory, but their customer service is awful. Have been here twice in the last month looking for hockey equipment for our family, and both times we felt invisible. No one seemed to care to help us. We ended up heading to Peranis Hockey World in Sterling Heights and their customer service has been incredible! Maybe Total Hockey could focus more on their customers instead of talking to each other and working with stock.

The inside shooting really gives you a feel of the stick that is good for you, the price of the sticks,pads/equipment and skates is reasonable. The skate sharpening is done well but quick, the employees know what they are doing and talking about. Toltal Hockey is my go to place for anything hockey related.

Darren H. is phenomenal with goalie equipment (ensuring best fit and compatibility with playing style). He was fantastic in talking to and working with my teenage son to find the pads that would work best for him (helping HIM understand the pros/cons based on his playing style). Offered practical advice rather than always pushing most expensive options. He also followed up post sale to offer tips to maximize fit and ensure my son was happy with purchase. He went above and beyond given we were pressed for time (in from out of town for tournament) and actually made trip to another location that had the exact color/style and dropped them off at the rink where my son’s next game was.Store is 5 hours from our home but we will gladly make the drive to work with Darren on future equipment purchases. Seriously.

Ive been here several times and the staff is usually helpful after I track them down and ask for assistance. Prices are higher than some of the competition, but Ive always found what I needed. If you plan on buying more than a few items, be sure to join their club at one of the premium levels.

Huge store, but seems empty. Prices are a little steep, and there seems to be more clothing in this store than actual hockey gear. There is a nice practice area so you can try out demo sticks though.

Pure hockey sucks...Prices are way to high, and skate sharpening is awful. From now on the only place I go to is The Goal Post which is located inside the royal oak ice rink (best sharpenings ever) The Goal Post can order you any equipment you need and have it within a few business days and the price has always been right.Pure hockey

I bought a helmet online but the cage that came with it was too big. I then tried to exchange just the cage at store 42 and they said no. I drove all the way to troy for a simple no and no solution. Next, i called store 41 in Novi and talked to Jenna. Jenna immediately ordered me a smaller cage with no problem. I will never go back to store 42

My previous review when it was Total Hockey was 5 stars and said, Good place to sharpen your skates. Got my skates sharpened last week. They were done terribly and worse than when I brought them in. Brought them back to get fixed and they still charged me a second time!! Terrible customer service.

Let me say first off that as far as the layout of the store & the unique features that allows the customer to have a more intimate experience when choosing their next piece of hockey equipment is off the charts. Clean, spacious & organized correctly as well.....Now all that being said ill never go back to purchase any piece of Equipment because your entire staff of employees (all expect the employee running the skate sharpener I interacted with) lack of any useful knowledge on products, horrendous sales tactics & lackluster attitudes. Bluntly your employees have I mean 0 customer service/ sales skills and had douchie attitudes. Whoever is in charge of hiring personal over here needs to raise the bar for hiring new employees. ESPECIALLY when your company just rebranded itself by changing the name. CMON MAN

Kids at the counter had no idea what they were talking about or how to handle customers. I went to the store to make an online order and make sure I had the right size, was told that they probably didnt have it. No offers to actually look or find and alterbalter, just blank stares of confusion. Ill head to Peranis.

Went in tonight to exchange some skates I purchased on their website. Had a great experience getting them exchanged, new ones baked, and sharpened. The associate I was dealing with Kell, was knowledgeable and patient. Couldnt have been more helpful. And all this happened as the store was closing. He stayed after closing to finish my fitting and sale. Also, another employee, whos name I didnt catch, stayed late to sharpen the skates up for me, and gave me some good advice on sharpening and profiling. Thank you guys!

Thank you both for a wonderful experience! I will be coming back

Called and asked if they had a size 11 in kids Bauer inline skate. They say yes. I drive 45 minutes there from home and they say they cant find it and that no one had bought it in the last hour. After offering nothing for my trouble or their mess up I say how about you give me the size 10 and a return shipping label so I can ship back if they dont fit. Both employees look at me like Im an alien. After 30 seconds of that I said F it and left. Make these people find your stuff before you waste an hour and a half driving. Dont take their word for it and dont expect any customer service to help resolve their inefficiencies. Go to Peranis or hockeymonkey online
